Arisys, you notice that the room looks pretty well-used - there isn’t a lot of dust built up on the floor, and what little stone debris there is has been pushed to the edges of the space, allowing for ease of movement. You imagine that creatures pass through here with relative frequency. You see a few tracks towards the corners of the room where there’s a bit more dust, but they all appear to be from goblins. If adventurers passed through here, any tracks or markings they left would be long gone.
Meepo completely ignores Lar-Dun’s question and continues making a beeline for the door. He loses his footing briefly when he enters the icy patch of the floor, but manages to catch himself using the wall as a handhold. He tugs on the handle of the wooden door, but it appears to be locked. Excitement turns into distress, and he pulls harder, putting his entire (very small) body weight into it. Still, the door doesn’t open.
Genken, you don’t see any signs of a dragon, just a very frantic kobold.

Genken sees Meepo struggling with the door and moves in to take a closer look, checking to see if there's any locks or traps on it (Investigation: 21).

Genken attempts to open the door, not trusting that Meepo was just being over-excited and somehow forgot how to open a door. (I'm going to assume it is in fact locked though.) He then gets out his lockpick and tries to unlock the frigid door (Thieve's Tools: 7).
The door is, in fact, locked. The underground complex you're in is a bit chilly in general, but this corner of the room is freezing. As you fiddle with the lock, your fingers quickly go numb, and you aren't able to get it open.
"Can I try?" Arisys says seeing Genken struggling with the frozen lock. She takes the lockpicks and tries to maneuver them back and forth to get the lock to click. Theives tools 5
You quickly encounter the same issue that Genken did.
(The rest of you are welcome to try with the thieves' tools, but if you aren't proficient, make the check with disadvantage. Alternatively, someone could make a strength check to try and break the door open. If another character would like to help, the check can be made with advantage.)
The door doesn't seem very sturdy - it's probably become somewhat brittle from the ice - and your foot goes right through. As you step back to admire your handiwork, Meepo scurries foward again and opens the door. "Calcryx?" He calls out tentatively, but there's no response. He enters the room.
You manage to get in front of him pretty easily. The room you enter has a single door on the east wall, and the north wall is curved in a semicircle. Stuffed, mounted heads adorn the walls. Most of them are cattle, horses, and other similarly unimpressive species. There are a few kobold heads in the mix. Smashed and broken cabinets litter the outskirts of the room. A rusted iron spike stands in the center, trailing a broken chain. A large table is turned on its side, blocking your view of the northwest corner of the space. The entire floor and large portions of the wall are coated in frost.
Genken watches the turned table closely, in case something hides behind it. He slowly moves around the side of the room to remain unnoticed while trying to identify if anything hides behind it (Stealth: 20; Perception: 11).
Genken and Lar-Dun, you both make your way towards the back of the room, Genken with the specific intent of looking behind the table. As you both approach, you're able to see over the top of it. Curled up on the floor is a small, white dragon, seemingly asleep. It can't be more than five feet long, a far cry from the gargantuan dragons of legend, but even at this size it appears formidable. Puffs of icy mist escape its nostrils with each exhale.

You don’t find any traps. There is a keyhole.

I'd like to use my passive perception to keep an open eye for anyone or anything thst might show up.

(Took the words right out of my mouth.)
Ondrej gently shoos Arisys to the side and steps up to the door. "May I?" he asks, before attempting to put his boot through the lock.

Lar-Dun will try to move in front of the Kobold. "Easy, little guy. I'm not too fond of the idea of our guide dying because he blundered into a trap."
