"By the gods. There really is a dragon down here..." Lar-Dun says, visibly shocked. He never fully believed that the Kobolds had a pet dragon, but now he has no choice but to believe it. He reaches out to try and pet it.

Animal Handling (if needed): 13

The dragon's pale blue eyes snap open, and a range of emotions flickers across its face. First anger. Then confusion. Then, slowly, calm. It nudges its head upwards into your hand.

Behind you, Meepo perks up. He scurries forward and stands on his toes, attempting to see over the table, but is too short. "Calcryx?" He calls again. The dragon's head turns towards  the familiar voice. It stands and lets out a soft roar, but seems reluctant to leave its corner.

Genken moves quietly across to stand just a little behind Lar-Dun and Meepo. He looks at the young dragon and in draconic says "Well met, little one. You seem a little worried by something. What might we do to help calm you so that you can return with your friend Meepo here? Is something wrong hereabouts?"

Summer was shocked by what she saw. For the first time in her life, she was staring at a white dragon. She decided to stay as a lookout just in case if anyone appears, while fighting to control her excitement.

Ondrej walks up behind the others so he can get a view of the dragon. "So that's a dragon, eh? I thought it'd be... y'know... bigger."

"Well I'm rethinking all those stories I heard about them, that's for sure. He doesn't seem to bad at all." Lar-Dun comments. For the first time since leaving the Yawning Portal, he feels good inside, like the world isn't all bad. He continues petting the dragon, if possible.

"Calcryx is only a baby. He will gets much bigger," Meepo explains. "We protects him when he is small and he protects us when he is big."

At Genken's words, Calcryx steps aside slightly, revealing a small pile of objects behind him. Most of it appears to be worthless, but you notice a few higher-quality items in the mix, including a small jade figurine and a crystal goblet. He glances down to the pile, and then back up at Genken. "Shiny," he says in Draconic.

"Where'd he get all of this?" Lar-Dun asks.

Arisys's eyes gleam at the sparkle. "Quite a collection you have, little one." she says back in draconic, still trying to roll the sounds around over her tongue to get the dialect right. She looks at Genken for approval.

Genken nods at Arisys, then turns back to Calcryx and speaks in draconic again. "Very shiny indeed, little one. What can you tell me about the doors hereabouts? Perhaps we can help you with your treasures in return?"

"Meepo don't think he knows. He hasn't been to the goblin places before," Meepo tells Genken.

Meanwhile, Calcryx picks up the crystal goblet, slinks around the side of the table, and deposits it in Meepo's hands. "Bring shiny back," he says in Draconic.

Genken pulls out a couple of gold pieces, "Perhaps you'd care to trade your little figurine there for a little gold?" he purrs at Calcryx in draconic, "These are much shinier than your little figure there." 

Ondrej stares dumbfoundedly at Genken speaking draconic with the young dragon. With a shake of his head he snaps out of his daze. "Ok, so we found the dragon." he says to Meepo. "Now you'll show us where the apple is?"

Calcryx deposits a few more items in Meepo's arms, then turns to scrutinize Genken's coins.

Genken, make a persuasion check.

"We gots to put Calcryx back first," Meepo tells Ondrej. "But then we can goes."

Genken Persuasion: 11

Can Arisys get a gauge on whether or not Meepo is going to keep his word about taking us to the apple?

Summer smiled warmly at Meepo. "You seem like a very proud and honest kobold. I'm sure you take pride in keeping your word, huh?"

Persuasion: 18

Calcryx nudges Genken's outstretched hand away and curls his tail protectively around the figurine. "Mine," he says in Draconic.

"Meepo will takes you, but Calcryx can't be coming with us," Meepo tells Summer.

Arisys, Meepo seems like he's been pretty honest with you so far. You've upheld your end of the deal, and he plans to uphold his.

"Where does Calcryx go?" Lar-Dun asks. "And how far is it? And what do we have to deal with along the way?"

"We can help you take him back, Meepo. But then we really must be carrying on with our own mission." Arisys says comfortingly, yet she remains concerned that they are travelling around in circles in this fortress. How will they ever find their way back? she thinks to herself.
