Ms. Thornton picks up holding Nilsa, "Your Wolfsong and that Elf mage, Robwin, I think, went out across the field. Sarah and her mother were with them or with Robwin. I thought at first they'd run for the Sleeping Giant, but that isn't the direction I last saw the mage's light. It looked to be aiming more toward the town's east wood."
Robwin calls back to Wolfsong, “I’m right behind you! Lead onward!!......”, whilst trying to keep up with his friend when he’s in full hunt mode. It’s quite a sight to behold in itself!...
((Next time Lia circles back this way, he tries to get details from her about who’s ahead: how many allies, how many enemies, distances between each group and Wolfsong and him. Just what details Robwin would know, about what’s up ahead, if he could see into what Lia has seen. He’ll also ask her if it’s clear where they might be heading (any obvious landmarks or buildings up ahead). )).
Blaire says, "Yeah, Rinn, just be careful. We've all been the entire day on the road. I need to tend to the pack. We'll set up in the shed again if it's alright with Alderleaf."
"That shouldn't be a problem.", Endure says
"I think we're making a visit to the Sleeping Giant as it is to be sure there is no more surprises tonight.", Blaire adds.
"Yes, and we'll get a patrol and the street lights lit too. Tonight, we'll have no trouble filling the roster.", Sildar puts in.
Robwin, When Lia circles back, you get the clear vision of one group of folk, you assume human and goblin, traveling north by northwest in the wood. You see one individual staggering after them falling farther behind and Wolfsong swiftly catching up on that one. From Lia, you see the wood continues long west, but stops at a steep hill incline the direction the Redbrand are heading.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
A smile breaks out on Wolfsong's lips, this was what he always sought and, after the disappointment that had been the owlbear, what he needed. Hearing his companion behind him Wolfsong keeps his current pace, his eyes always scanning the ground to keep the trail of his prey in sight.
((Just wondering on distances for Wolfsong and Robwin’s chase? Are we close? Are we closing in? Can Robwin see their quarry at all? Or can he only (barely) see Wolfsong at this stage? Does Robwin get a glimpse of anything ahead within his spell ranges? Various ranges but up to around 120ft. Thanks. Oh also, are Sarah and ‘Mum’ still behind and coming too?))
Robwin looks back while running, to see if the others are still with him, and ahead to see if he can see anything ahead, get line of sight on anything, or gauge distances (does Lia relay rough distances to him?).
Either way, he will keep on after Wolfsong for now...
Robwin also shouts to Wolfsong, “Are we closing in on them? Does it look like they’re going to dive into a safe-house or anything? Where are they headed?!....”.
”If you think they might duck in somewhere, I might have one last trick up my sleeve.. if we’re ‘REALLY DESPERATE’!.... but I’ve never tried it before!...”.
He feels his words are being snatched away by the breeze and branches between them before they even come out. And he realises Wolfsong might be too deep in the zone to pay him much mind anyway. That’s fine. He may be the bookish kind, and overly obsessed with options, and detail, (the complete opposite of Wolfsong in almost every way), but he is finding he really loves letting loose on the chase, and seeing his friend run free.
Wolfsong was about 100 ft ahead of you, Robwin, as he entered the woods. From Lia’s last sharing he's maintained that distance though he's quickly catching up on Jurzl while the Redbrand group has slowed a bit too. Sarah and Cinnaess are easily keeping pace with you.
When you holler out to Wolfsong you hear a distinctly derisive exhale from Cinnaess and a chastising "mother!" in a strong high Elvish diction from Sarah that your sure only comes out when the matriarch is about.
Wolfsong, You catch up to Jurzl. He's breathing heavily and you can smell his freshly spilling blood when you hear Robwin belt out an inquiry and offer to help. Jurzl spins around at the loud voice. He sees you than he starts laughing.
"Looks like you have everything you need. Even some backup. They'll be moving faster now. Seem to be shifting north toward the clifs round the old manor. I'm gonna bind this up. Two damnable goblins with those smaller Crossbows." He makes a hand action than starts laughing. "Go on. I need to bind this 'fore Liz finds out. An kill em all; will ya? Think the carved up Thel and they still have Mirna.
Rinn, As you cut out across the midway between roads heading east, you can barely see Robwin’s light in the trees. He's about a thousand feet beyond you, but his light is an easy guide to aim toward.
"Sildar, Jubilance said you and Halia had an idea about these Redbrand?", Blaire brings up.
"Yes, that's true. Halia, you want to get TT and Blaire filled in? I'm going to grab some blankets for the girls.", Sildar says.
"Right", Ms. Thornton starts, "Seems most of the Redbrand are Unskilled, untested mercenaries just trying to make some coin and clearly over their heads. The real problem is this Glasstaff as best we can tell. If we take him down,", Ms Thornton is interrupted by Sildar adding, "or bring them in for questioning" "right, that's an option; look Sildar, don't you think he killed your associate?", Ms. Thornton comes back.
Endure breaks into the dialogue before it gets going, "Halia, leave it."
Ms. Thornton takes a deep breath. "Anyway, TT. What we're thinking is, you and your crew investigate this Glasstaff and see if you can find this Lords' Alliance associate. The Lords' Alliance and the Phandalin Miner's Exchange will compensate you each generously. Keep as many of the new or low ranking Redbrand in tack as possible. We'll retrain them. Paid under the Exchange and trained under the Alliance. If they step out of line they'll be harshly dealt with. In the other hand, they're likely to make a good resource in a dragon or manticore attacking the town."
“I have their trail for now,” Wolfsong calls back before turning to Jurzl and laying a hand on his shoulder. “You did well, I will be sure not to end the hunt until they are all dead. Let those who are following me know everything you just told me.” Then with a final nod continues his chase following the direction Jurzl gave him.
Blaire bursts out laughing. "I would wager Rinn, Robwin or Eli as first to draw blood before the pack or clan, but I agree, we'd need to be very clear about the what we're expecting. Still, I don't think Wolfsong would destroy someone who laid down their arms. He offered that lot at the Inn a path out, right?"
"If you are, go with Endure first to the Seeping Giant and work from there. Tammy and I will stay here with the girls and coordinate.", Halia Thornton says

What are your thoughts?
