Robwin, You hear Wolfsong's response back to you. He has one of those voices trained to project well without being extremely loud, a very good quality out in the wilderness. A short time later you come to Jurzl slumping by a tree.
Sarah and Cinnaess immediately begin redoing Jurzl's bandaging. "Not bad, but not travel worthy.", is Cinnaess' Elvish quip. She applies a small cure wounds and gives him a small healing poultice.
Jurzl relays to you what he told Wolfsong.
After a brief but intense argument with her mother in Elvish which includes, "that isn’t enough to keep him going" and "when have you hunt anything smarter than a deer, dog or boar?", Sarah relents, agreeing to see Jurzl back to Phandalin.
"Be sure, you may still run into danger and need to fight. Don't look to through yourself away.", Cinnaess says in what would be a ccomforting tone in a high Elven court.
Sarah embraces Cinnaess again, "You too. Love you."
Sarah turns and in common says, "Come, Jurzl, let's get you back to town. Sure Liz 'll be frantically searching you out by now."
Jurzl, who has managed to get back to his feet says, "She'll probably start swinging 'fore she knows I'm injured." He chuckles. "Love that woman."
As Jurzl and Sarah head off, you get another update from Lia, they are indeed slowing, working there way around trees and bending distinctly north.
Robwin responds to Cinnaess quietly and politely in Elvish, “As you wish, my lady. It is my honour to do so... ...”, with a brief bow, before setting off again after Wolfsong, in the direction Jurzl described...
((OOC: I know Robwin doesn’t necessarily need to roll for stealth and survival from this distance, but he’s trying very hard to remember his early schooling and to impress Cinnaess with his Elven ways... and I’m just interested in the results to be able to RP it with her, lol))
Wolfsong, You are in rare form. You hear, smell and see every minute detail as you stalk quickly and silently toward your pray. You see them eventually reach the cliff wall and pass into a tunnel. Their are two large bugbear guarding the entrance.
Robwin as you continue to move forward Cinnaess says, not unkindly, "You may wish to douse that light." (In Elvish) She has made no sigh or gesture of disapproval yet. You to keenly feel as if back in trials at university or truthfully anywhere in the elders' company.
Rinn, As you enter the forest following the tracks, you see Sarah who you know from the Inn and Barthen’s Provisions and Jurzl, who you know from the discussion in the hall earlier and seeing him around the Miner's Exchange. They are making their way slowly, cautiously west out of the forest toward town.
TT, You, Blaire, Endure, the Goblins and Wolves, make your way across the back field and street to the Sleeping Giant tap house.
It is a ramshackle taproom at the east end of town on the road that runs east from town main circle, just south of the Inn and Mr. Barthen’s land.
Four human ruffians are hanging out on the covered porch, perched on empty ale barrels or leaning against the wall. They all wear grimy scarlet cloaks, their sullen stares fixed on you as you approach.
One of the thugs spits on the ground. “Well, well,” he snarls. “Here’s a whole pack of little puppies. What do you want, puppies? Come here to bark at us?”
Blaire responds, "Careful. We bite as she and Endure step into view behind you and the pack makes a semicircle just behind them. Endure puts a hand gently on Blaire's forearm.
(( Intimidation 18 ))
TT, You're in the front of your small team. What do you do?
Robwin tucks his glowing-wand inside his robes, to cover the light (for now).
Then, as they begin to approach the cliff-wall, and the tunnel, he sends Lia back, just a short way, to see if anyone else was trying to follow them from town after the fight. He’ll tell her to help them find their way here and to come straight back too.
Also, ‘this is Wolfsong’s hunt’, he thinks to himself. He’ll follow Wolfsong’s lead with the guards, but he’s ready to chip in, or help (or attack), if need be.
Once he sees the bandits go into the tunnel Wolfsong waits and takes stock of the situation, while he is confident he could take out the guards himself he knows they would be able to raise an alarm before he fells both of them. After Robwin and Cinnaess arrive Wolfsong motions for them to keep quiet and whispers, "Saw the ruffians go into the cave, don't know how many are in there, our best bet is to take out those two as quickly as we can so they don't raise an alarm then go in quietly to rescue whoever they managed to take. This hunt until every ruffian in there is dead and the townsfolk are back home. Ready?"
Cinnaess looks at Wolfsong for a bit then makes a short nod, gestures to the bugbear on the right of the cave entrance and prepares an arrow, dipping it in a small vial at her side. Quietly she says in elegant crisp common, "I will kill the one left of the cave."
She's ready when you are.
(( Roll Initiative (Robwin, Wolfsong and Rinn). Lia will take action on Robwin’s initiative. It will be four rounds before Rinn reaches the mouth of the cave moving a full 90 ft per turn; movement, dash, bonus dash. ))
Wolfsong nods to Cinnaess, draws his shortsword, then makes a wide arc towards the bugbear on the right to come at it from the side, and attempts to stab it with his blade.
"And I will take a few folk to the Alderleaf Farm and work back this way from there.", adds Sildar
