“To clear the place!…”, Robwin says, with renewed purpose, “That’s right…”. He looks about, trying to see where they have found themselves now, and what threats still remain…
Based on the light and the staircases, you gather the main floor must be below you. Whether the winches that control the portcullis are on this floor or the next, you don't know.
((I guess we are still fighting undead at least? They will un-turn at some point. And maybe the spiders will come back. On his turns Robwin will fire bolt any spider he sees, otherwise he will continue to pick off undead one at a time. Are we still in initiative and turn order?)).
(( Turn Undead lasts a minute (ten rounds) with wisdom saves at the start of their turns. You're in initiative and either Ghouls or Spiders could attack you however, they're all currently fleeing other issues; TT's divine connection and the upper floor fire respectively. ))
Wolfsong - In addition to everyone's possessions, you're struck by how quiet it is. You hear the feet on the dust covered floor as the Ghouls flee. You hear the intermittent flares of sections of webbing catching fire. The shuffle of Cleaver's wings as he cautiously observes from the staircase. You hear murmurs of the people outside. If you get that portcullis open, you will have more fighters. If you don't get a warning to them, the spiders that may get out the way you got in, will have very easy prey.
As the silhouettes of the spiders begin to shrink against the light of Robwin's flames Wolfsong takes a moment to realize the direction they are going then turns to his elven companions, "The spiders could be heading outside the same way we came in, could either of you warn those outside to be on guard so they are not taken by surprise?"
With his warning given Wolfsong looks around the room trying to spot either the controls for the portcullis or a way down to the next floor.
There is a staircase near you that goes down a floor. With your darkvision, you can see it's split about twenty feet to a mezzanine and another twenty to the floor below. (( If you use your movement, you can easily see the portcullis winch on the mezzanine level along with three Ghouls who are moving tword you.
Rinn focuses his attention for a moment on the group waiting outside the fortress and casts a message, "Watch out. There could be some giant spiders heading your way from the upper levels."
As you get midway between the floor you were on and the mezzanine, TT, you perseveres 20 Undead within 60ft of you - not obscured; 3 are moving quickly toward Wolfsong and Robwin.
The Ghouls that were nearly on top on of Wolfsong, pull up and shriek. ((TT roll a new damage round for the Turn Undead --- If they survive the damage, they will attempt to flee giving Wolfsong and Robwin Opportunity attacks. ))
The Ghouls that were nearly out of your range, going deeper into the "keep", stop, turn, wail and race back toward Rinn, Eline and Cleaver.
