((( The Ghouls nearest Wolfsong and Robwin will be sixty feet south of you at the start of your turn. They are grouped up. The other Ghouls you are aware of are currently on the floor above the mezzanine. Rinn, Eline and Cleaver are currently on that floor. )))
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Wolfsong draws from his side the warhammer he had picked up at the last dwarven ruin and with two hands on the weapon swings it at the nearest undead as he moves towards the portcullis winch so they can try to open the door in the near future.
Wolfsong attempts to activate the portcullis winch so those who are outside can join in on the cleanup, with the spiders all fleeing and the undead easily turned away he is beginning to think of this less as a hunt and more an extermination.
(( @SpieltJoos - You are closer to the "front" (northern) side of it. You all came down a chimney into a chamber at the northwest of the an upper floor of the mountain keep/fort very near the front. You then traveled down a long open stone staircase which Rinn fell from.
Rinn, Eline and Cleaver are on that eastern side of the staircase.
North of you three are the slits in the stone admitting light from outside.
On the opposite (western) side of the starecase is another staircase leading down to a mezzanine that spreads west, north and south. On the east side of the mezzanine is the wall with the winch and slits opening out over the dwarf made canion that leads to and past the portcullis into the Axeholm.
Wolfsong is at the winch, Robwin and TT are at the base of the mezzanine staircase and Rinn, Eline and Cleaver are on the stone floor just above them. With the light from outside and the brighter light from the now blazing Inferno on the floor where you encountered the arachnids, Rinn and Eline would be able to easily see their compatriots heading down. The three could back up under the staircase Rinn fell off of to the lip of the staircase the other three traveled down.
However at the moment, Rinn has put down a charging ghoul, Eline has engaged a second and Cleaver is about to pounce down on a third.
Meanwhile Wolfsong is about to attempt to get the winch working. ))
((…while Wolfsong approaches the winch, or on his turn /next turn, can Robwin move to the next set of stairs and see the main entrance and portcullis?
He only wants to move enough to see it, if possible, and descend no further than absolutely necessary. But he wants to see the portcullis, the others coming in, and if there are any dangers on that lower floor or near or around the portcullis.
Depending on if and when he can get there, and what he sees, he may need to take an action or blast a ghoul or something, but let me know whether he can get there and what he sees there and on the way, or if the way is blocked at all.
His motivation is to make sure there’s not a horde of anything waiting to rush out the gates when the portcullis goes up. Thanks)).
Robwin can see the next set of stairs depending not ten feet in front of the one he just decended. Additionally, from the slits, you get a good idea that the portcullis lines up with the middle of the two staircase going up or down from the mezzanine. Their is a sister floor and winch on the other side of the gauntlet created by the keep walls.
If Robwin has eyes on the portcullis and the people outside, he’d stay there, and commentate to Wolfsong if it’s going up or not ((do we know how that’s going?)).
If there are no enemies near the main gates and the portcullis, and if Robwin can see an enemy (ghoul or spider) he will fire off another fire bolt…
Wolfsong isn't able to move the winch but it becomes quickly apparent to the three of you (Wolfsong, TT and Robwin) that you're going to need someone on the other side winch as well to get the portcullis up.
From his perch on the long wide stone staircase above Rinn and Eline, Cleaver releases his tail spikes on the two Ghouls engaged with them. Then jumps down to join them.

Eline whistles in approval as you put down another Ghoul, Rinn. She lashes out at one of the Ghouls that just reached you. (( Held Action ))

Wolfsong easily puts down the ghoul nearest him as it attempts to flee. (( If that was your opportunity attack, you may also take your turn action. ))
Wolfsong attempts to activate the portcullis winch so those who are outside can join in on the cleanup, with the spiders all fleeing and the undead easily turned away he is beginning to think of this less as a hunt and more an extermination.
(OOC - had we even found the portcullis mechanism? I thought we were way in back of the fort?)
