(( Currently, yes, everyone is safe on the plateau. The ankheg would need to work their way around either side to get to the west side to come up that slope. The three are currently devouring the one that fell. ))
"Cool, dude, I haven't seen a centaur since I was a kid," Silenus says, getting distracted. "And shape shifting orcs? Whoa."
He looks at the ankhegs eating the dead one.
"I think we should get going before the big bugs figure out how to get up here and they eat our poor mule," Silenus says, urging everyone to head down the west side and leave the camp behind.
(( OOC - Okay. Are you following the road south along the river toward Thundertree then east along the unkept path to the Tribore trail or due east through the forest? The path will be quicker, but give the ankheg a better chance of following. The forest route will decrease the ankheg's ability to follow, but require survival and perception checks to make it through. It will also increase the likelihood of running into other unknowns. Either way is fine, just let me know. ))
(( Majority success in both... )) with quick thinking... Rinn on horseback, Olsihla and Jasmine with the mule and wagon, and Silenus on foot ((very fast fellow))... the party is able to maneuver through the forest faster than the ankheg can manage to track or keep up.
Continuing as best you can throughout the day running basically south, you come to a checkpoint outside of the clearing surrounding Cragmaw Castle. Rinn is recognized and greeted as a friend by the goblins and hobgoblins "on duty".

"I would say less than a ten day, but I could be wrong. That's at least when we knew something was wrong.", the talkative one says.
The other shakes their head. "Damned centaur and those shape shifting Orc tried to warn us something was off. Everyone thought they were just looney."
The initial dwarf loads another bolt. "Sheite! He's right. The centaur was at least two ten day back and the Orc was about a half after that."

(( Are you heading back toward Thundertree? ))
((Silenus would vote for Phandalin and the one dwarf's cousin who might know a Rockseeker))
(OOC - I guess it would be prudent to get these dwarves back to safety, so I suppose Phandalin would be the way to go.)

(Unless Rinn steers him towards Thundertree, Silenus would make for the forest - forests are his happy place).
Roll - Survival and Perception

Jasmine Survival 18 Perception 4
Silenus Perception 14
Silenus Survival 12

"That was totally wild," Silenus says to the group once they get clear of the camp and have put the ankheg far behind them.
He turns to the dwarfs as they continue on.
"What was that about the shapeshifting orc dude?" Silenus asks. "Can they do that around here?"
Continuing as best you can throughout the day running basically south, you come to a checkpoint outside of the clearing surrounding Cragmaw Castle. Rinn is recognized and greeted as a friend by the goblins and hobgoblins "on duty".
In common, one hobgoblin says, "You stay tonight? Dark soon! King Grol welcome you!"
In Sylvan, Olsihla says, "You know the locals?"
The dwarfs who were holding on in the back of the cart, in dwarven comment to each other, "from incects to beasts, what the hells is going on"
"Yeah, yeah. These dudes are totally friends," Silenus says. "They don't like this big gnarly black spider."
He nods over at Rinn.
"Rinn's like a hero to them or something."
(( Is Silenus speaking in Sylvan or Common? ))
