Rinn scoffs at the talk of lots of reading, "I hated having to read so much. Stuffy, smelly libraries full of old books." He takes a deep breath of morning air, "I love being outside much more." Then, waking from his small reverie, he looks down the road they wish to travel, "Shall we get moving? The farm isn't going to save itself!"
Eli and Blaire both are dedicated to their own deities, and neither they nor Rinn recall Kelemvor in particular.
Wolfsong: You recall Kelemvor, Lord of the Dead and Judge of the Damned, was the god of death and the dead, and master of the Crystal Spire in the Fugue Plane. A good patron to have on such a hard hunt.
Robwin: You remember the death clergy of Kelemvor, as they were known, had many duties; most involved tending to the last wishes of the dying and providing burial services to those who died alone. They also set out to cure diseases and defend people from monsters so that folk did not die before their time. Their final and arguably most important task was the destruction of undeath in all its various forms as it was an affront to Kelemvor.
"I'm happy to take first watch with someone" says Robwin. "I only trance for a few hours each night anyway".
As the party set up the camp, Robwin will spend a few minutes to ritually cast a silent/mental alarm around the campsite (allowing party members access in and out without triggering the alarm of course). He'll also cast mage armor on himself again, to last through the night (8h).
Once everyone settles down to rest, Robwin will send Lia the Owl up almost 100ft into the sky to keep watch for him (she's much better at it than him anyway)...
Ikki: You notice a bear in the forest line near the end of your watch, but it moves on without incident.
The party is up again early, dawn's twilight.
Travel goes well, but the chill doesn't burn off this morning. By midmorning, there is a light drizzle.
By late afternoon, you reach the abandoned town of Conyberry. It is eerily silent except for the whistling of the wind as it blows through the settlement’s burned and crumbled-down structures. The mud sloshes with each step as you make your way through the ruins.
There are three unsaddled riding horses grazing near an old well about mid-way through the town off to the left (west) of the trail.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Rinn sees the horses, "Hey, that's cool! We could get a few horses for us to use," he says quietly to the others. He jumps to and sneaks towards the horses (Stealth: 9).
Robwin is a creature of habit and routine. After his trance, he prepares his spells for the day. And as the party heads out, he casts mage armor on himself, which activates his Arcane Ward.
This morning though, he ruffles Lia’s feathers before dismissing her into her pocket-dimension, to rest for a bit.
As the party approach Conybury, he stays towards the back, keeping an eye on everything. He knows he’s not great with animals so he lets the others approach the horses first.
If there’s any available, he’d like to collect some charcoal from burned buildings: any that looks suitable for the find familiar spell. ((Let me know if this is easy to do, or if it needs a roll, and how much he can gather. He’s looking for maybe one castings worth if possible)).

((OOC: @DM - Thanks, that’s great!))
Robwin will stay back while the others approach the horses. Although, if there are any left loose, after everyone has tried, he would maybe give it a go... But he would go last, last, last! Here we go...

"Be cautious when you approach," Wolfsong warns the other. "We do not need to frighten the animals and have them alert their owners or what ever else could be around."
"Now that's the gods laughing no doubt.", says Eli
Blaire nods, jaw partially slack, in a weird surprised, silent laugh.
As Rinn, Eli, and Blaire attempted to approach the horses, they were unsuccessful in calming them.
The horses didn't bolt or make a deal of ruckus, instead they wandered away from the three, in the opposite direction of TT and Wolfsong.
You watch in amusement as the lead mare stops behind Robwin and begins nuzzling the Elf's neck and nibbling at his wide brimmed pointy hat.
You'd seen Robwin wander away digging at old structures and currently squatting low apparently playing in the muck.
The other two horses are following her lead, but their ears twitching indicate they're not just yet comfortable.
Robwin: You have three spells worth of clay and, apparently, three new friends. You could probably mount and ride the alpha mare or put a lead rope on her without issue.
Robwin, Rinn, Wolfsong, Eli and Blaire notice the horses are branded with the letters BAK.
Robwin feels something nudging him while he’s gathering materials. “Hey, Wolfsong... Stop it!...I’m trying to...”. Then he looks round and sees the horse beside him...
“Ohh... hello there!...”, he says softly. “Oh my, you’re gorgeous aren’t you!? Aren’t you??... Yes you are!...”.
He gets a little handful of dried fruit and nuts out of his rations, and holds it under the horse’s nose, for it to munch on. ((maybe the others come over to get some)). “Alright, alright, you can all get some, no need to push!... aww you’re lovely!”. He nuzzles back against the horse’s forehead like he does with Lia.
”Where’s your master? Eh?... you want to come with us??.... ... you can come with us if you like. We’ll take good care of you and your friends”.
”shhh... Shhhhh....... that’s it. It’s okay....”. Robwin tries to put a lead rope on the alpha mare.
If the other two are happy with that and still around he’ll try and rope those too if he can. Using more and more rations if he needs to!

Ikki is ready to go and flies above the group to keep watch as per his usual.
Once the party breaks camp and heads out for the day, Robwin will cast mage armor on himself, which will also activate his Arcane Ward (+9hp).
With his protective spells up, he becomes noticeably calmer and a little less unsure of himself.
With Ikki having taken to the skies, he’s happy to keep Lia the Owl on his shoulder for now, where he can make a little fuss of her every so often.

The party's travel through the day goes well. You make good time and keep a study pace. Very close to full dark, you set camp.

Ikki: You do not see anything that appears concerning.
Robwin: The ruins are old. It would be easy enough to tear up some charcoal. (Three castings worth without causing a ruckus.)
Rinn: You can see the horses
Party: If you chose to approach the horses, make a Perception and Animal Handling check. If you want to try sneaking up, also make a Stealth check.

Also, before we leave, since it’s muddy, can Robwin find a small handful-or-two of clay? ((Just for some RP and flavour around a spell)).
