(( It took time to get situated. While the short rest outside was useful the majority could use a long sleep. It is early evening by when everyone has themselves situated within the temple. Ironrune is snoring softly against one wall, Norman another. The passage is easily twenty feet wide and thirty feet long you closed the doors to the outside, the main temple and the partially collapsed north antechamber you hadn't explored yet. Before their rest, Grayshard and Tomi spend time cleaning and patching up weapons, tools and armor while speaking often in the silent hand signs language the dwarfs and this halfling share. "Common among the shield dwarf clans." Ironrune had said at one point.
Anything, you wish to do during this long rest?
Rinn and Robwin need four hours minimum trance. ))
Hearing TT's remark Wolfsong gives a deep thoughtful sigh then looks up to the ceiling, "The Daraktan have been pushed out of their normal grounds most likely by the dragon, for that I may pity them, but to attack others shifting from noble hunters to common bandits they are no better than wild beasts."
Wolfsong then turns to Rinn to answers his remarks "The trophies and scars a hunter bares show how skilled they are, its shows the paths they have walked. These Daraktan we have face do not seem to be their hunters. The ones we faced back at the farm could have been some of their hunters, but aside from that they tested their strength against our own, the Wilds sided with us leading us to our victory. Be careful Rinn the Wilds are fickle and can give their blessing to those you hunt at any moment."
At Robwin's question Wolfsong gives a smile, "For now we rest then a first light continue our hunt. We still have the manticore outside and still need to make our way to the other dig sight."
During his time awake, he also lets his hands absentmindedly feel for the strands of weave around him. It comforts him, but he’s still restless for no reason…
Eventually he slips into his trance, while kneeling, for the remaining portion of the night, with Lia sleeping stood up on his shoulder… the two of them exhibiting perfect balance.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Robwin wakes, and goes through his normal morning routine. He prepares his spells, then casts mage armor on himself, which triggers his Arcane Ward too ((+12hp)). He’ll also ritually cast comprehend languages, and then he’s ready for the day…
((OOC: His moon egg regains 3 charges, bringing it back up to full (4/4 charges). But he spends two charges preparing an extra two spells (meaning he has everything prepared again, aside from his ritual spells).)).
(( We see Robwin preparing for the day as others too are rising. ))
"So we are going after that manticore - kill or capture - for a reward and trekking to Axeholm afterward? Is that right?", Norman asks between eating a ration and donning his gear.
"Grayshard said we could come back or stay here too. We don't have to follow this hunt. Though getting word back to the Minors' Exchange and the folk at Axeholm is important." Tomi adds in.
"An we need to travel that direction - toward Axeholm - to restock our fresh water supply.", Ironrune says.
"I am intrigued by the manticore hunt. I admit. Maybe though too we should deal with the dead or clear out what is accessible in this temple?", Eline puts in.
"What do you four suggest?", Eline asks referring to TT, Rinn, Robwin, and Wolfsong.
Robwin joins the discussion, “As far as the manticore goes, I follow my friend Wolfsong here. It’s his hunt to command… I will do as he wishes in that matter. Capture or kill. I leave that to him…”.
”… I think he and the others here may have met the creature before briefly, so there may be some history there too…”.
”When we’ve dealt with the manticore, one way or another. Then we can tend to these other matters, and I’ll be happy to help any way I can…”.
”Has anyone been outside this morning? Do we know if the creature’s still there??!”.
For a second, Robwin points towards the exit with one hand, touches his temple with the other hand, and casts message towards the entrance and beyond, saying (silently!):
@Manticore…
<<”Manticore!?… Do you still stand sentry over this mine??…” >>
He waits briefly for any response, but isn’t too hopeful.
@DM…
((OOC: I know there are all sorts of limitations to this spell, I will leave it to DM to decide whether any factors stop this from working, or if the creature isn’t there. Or whatever. Not sure Robwin would necessarily know if it works or not, either way, unless he gets a response of course. Thanks for considering this though. It was just something quick and cheap to try that popped into his mind.))
(( Robwin doesn't get a response. It could be the beast just didn't respond or it isn't within range. If it was at the pile of corpses, it would be 180 feet from you. And further, of course, if near its location when you all retreated to camp then into the temple. ))
As Wolfsong packs up his gear he looks towards the exit, thinks for a moment, then answers, "First I would like to finish with the funeral pyre then if the manticore is still in the area I would like to continue the hunt. The reports we had heard at the village was the manticore was more in Axeholm it could have come this way seeking food, we will have to see."
"Anyone who wishes to join the hunt is more then welcome to," Wolfsong smiles. "It will be glorious either way."
"I'll go check to see if the beast is still here or has moved on," with that Wolfsong heads out to the pile of bodies keeping his eyes out for the manticore.
"The funeral pyre is important, even your enemies deserve to meet death properly. And while the manticore was not our original intent when we set out, I consider Wolfsong my friend and will see that his hunt is completed" TT will prepare her prayers for the day and when the others are ready carry out the funeral rights to see safe passage to the afterlife for the fallen daraktan.
Rinn didn't quite understand what was being said between Grayshard and Tomi last night. From Tomi's comments and behavior this morning though, it is easy to piece together that a good bit of it was regarding the excavation.
It is sixty feet from the temple door to the defunct inner gates and another forty feet to the outline of the mostly buried community well. In the ninety feet from their to the bodies, Lia and Wolfsong are quick to see signs of disturbance. Parts of clothing, such as it was, from the smaller corpses hanging over walls of the excavation.
The pile has been disturbed.
(( Make a survival check Wolfsong. ))

Rinn will rest, but during his spare moments, will watch and try to decipher some of the sign language that Grayshard and Tomi talk with.
Robwin will stay up initially. He’s restless and doesn’t know why. He sits with his thoughts for a few hours’ ‘watch’ with Lia…
