Rinn flips the dagger in his hand, "Well, the plan is to release the kraken... on dry land." He grins momentarily as uncertainty sets in. "That thing liked water and it's held these poor souls to its will. If we can kill it here away from its preferred environment, we might have a chance of killing it and freeing these poor ghouls." The elf looks to each of the doubters, trying to convince them of his plan.
As you enter reverie, Rinn, you recall the detailed oratory Robwin presented regarding your blade... you also see the Aboleth... seething in unspent rage...
This is a Rakdos Riteknife. The leather thigh belt is very old and built for a small person. It can easily be separated from the sheath. The sheath is of silver, steal and ebony design with various runes set into it. The dagger itself has a long cruelly serrated blade. The dagger's hilt resembles a head reminiscent of the nothic, manticore or some other demonic stylized entity and wings like the manticore or dragon.
This dagger requires attunement.
Whenever a creature is slain with an attack using the dagger, the creature’s soul is imprisoned inside the dagger. That creature can be restored to life only by a wish spell. The dagger can hold a maximum of five souls.
For each soul imprisoned in the dagger, an attack with it deals an extra 1d4 necrotic damage on a hit.
While attuned, if the dagger is within 5 feet of its owner, their dreams are haunted by whispers from the trapped souls.
The dagger has the following additional properties.
Siphon Vitality. As a bonus action, the attuned can release any number of stored souls from the dagger to regain 1d10 hit points per soul released.
Annihilation. If the dagger holds five souls, the attuned can use this property: As a reaction immediately after hitting a creature with the dagger and dealing damage to that target, the attuned can release all five souls. If the target now has fewer than 75 hit points, it must succeed on a DC 15 Constitution saving throw or die. If the target dies, the attuned cannot use this property again until they finish a long rest.
Proficiency with a dagger allows the attuned to add their proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack they make with it.
TT and Eline each spent a good deal of time in devotional meditation before they separately found their rest. The morning light finds them cleaning and sorting their gear, taking advantage too of the barrel baths set up by the Axeholm encampment.
Robwin spent a good bit of time mumbling about and sorting through his notes and spellbook as well as reading some of the tombs he had found and left with the Axeholm encampment.
Silenus listens to the description of the powers of this dagger.
"So, like, we'd need powerful magic to bring the aboleth back?" Silenus says. He pauses and nods. "Where are we going to get that kind of magic? Dude. I think we should just put these ghouls out of their misery."
((I know Growbert has had some pretty challenging IRL issues and has had to go quiet in their other games for the time being but really no idea when they'll be back))
Robwin has taken on the youngest Dendrar daughter as an apprentice alchemist... when he isn't with Elsa at the Sleeping Giant tap house, he can usually be found in the Tresendar Manor overseeing the young alchemist or chatting with the Nothic or the Elder (an undead looking "zombie" like fellow found in the manor catacombs who swears he is an alien unintentionally bound to the body of a victim of the Thundertree incident some time past).
Elsa is magically bound to the soul of one of the White dragon's eggs/young. Apparently, the dragon attacked Phandalin while the party was wrestling with the manticore.
Elsa was a victim of its breath attack and Cinnaess took the drastic measure to save her stepchild.
Now, not only is there a need to deal with this White dragon, but too capture/contain the bound egg.
TT and Eline ventured back to the other excavation with plans to travel from there to Lionel and then Neverwinter. They took with them the items TT has promised to return to her initial party members' families.
As best as anyone can tell, Wolfsong and the manticore (plural) went hunting bigger pray.
Letters from Various Dragontooth in Gnomegrade reported sighting Wolfsong's strange company passing along their north ridge. Various and his fiancee are doing well as is their farm.

Silenus smiles and holds his axe up and nods.
"Ready when you are dude," Silenus says to Rinn then pauses. "Can you make it appear wherever you want?"
He looks over the ground around them.
"Like in a freshly dug pit with sharp spikes?"
Rinn looks around and shrugs. "Maybe we should rest first?"

A new dawn rises and the companions find themselves where they had bedded down be it in the keep barracks, in a tent, or under the stars.

Silenus quickly dispatches the two ghouls which had been scrapping with each other the entire night.
Weeks later... Rinn and Silenus are in Phandalin...

Eli is still working within the Phandalin constabulary.
Blare is working with the Goblinkin clans, the Phandalin Minor's Exchange to manage and develop the Sping Cave and Crossroads.
She's usually with Halia Thornton and/or Jubilee when in Phandalin otherwise she's at the crossroads.
As best as anyone can tell, Wolfsong and the manticore (plural) went hunting bigger pray.
Letters from Various Dragontooth in Gnomegrade reported sighting Wolfsong's strange company passing along their north ridge. Various and his fiancee are doing well as is their farm.
Yian joined TT and Eline for the trek to Lionel, but should be back soon enough.
The work with the excavation companies netted the party 250 gp each!
Rinn and Silenus are in Phandalin ... Sister Garaele has again approached Rinn about joining the harpers.
Where are you two?
What are you doing?
