Silenus has never been to Phandalin before so just takes everything in when they get there, continually asking Rinn "What's that building?" and "Who's that?" and "Is there a good tavern here?"
He whistles and smiles when he hears about the white dragon.
"A real dragon?" Silenus asks. "A bath, a couple of bottles of wine, a mountain of food, a good night's sleep, and then I'm ready to go see that."
He looks over at Rinn.
"But what about you? Are there things you still need to do in this town?"
Rinn considers the offer to join the Harpers very seriously. What little he knows of them, he knows that at the very least they stand for righteous and good. He accepts, but even so, keeps the rakdos knife concealed from everyone, worried that this powerful relic he came across may not be so welcome elsewhere, especially among the Harpers.
Rinn smiles at Silenus as he comments about the dragon. "A dragon would be quite the foe. I'd be happy enough just to see one up close, as long as it wasn't trying to kill me," he chuckles. "But there isn't anything else I really need to do here in town, other than grab a few supplies... well, arrows mostly."
There are two taverns in town, "The Stonehill Inn", owned and operated by Mr. Toblen and Mrs. Trilena Stonehill and "The Sleeping Giant tap house", owned and operated by Elsa (human) and Grista (dwarf). Rooms and a bathhouse are available at "The Stonehill Inn" while "The Sleeping Giant tap house" is expanding to include rooms and a stage.
It's a bit louder at the tap house, the majority of the constabulary frequent it. The food at the Stonehill is definitely better. However, Elsa offers half off the Dwarven beer and meals to Rowbin, Rinn, TT, Blaire, Eli, Ikki, Jubilee and Wolfsong whenever they visit as thanks for everything they've done.
She would do the same for her sister, Sarah and Elmar Barthen if they ever came over.
"Barthen’s provisions" is the largest trading post. It includes a barn where Rinn's party stalls a cart and a couple large goats, a team of ox and some horses.
Elmar and Sarah lease them out for tasks around the area when they aren't being used by Blaire or another party member and save the parties earnings for them.
Endure's Leathers owned by the bodacious Tiefling Toril Jubilance Endure. (Blaire calls them Jubilee while most everyone else addresses them as Endure.) Endure offers fine leathery and enchantment.
As you approach the tap house you can see the progress of the construction you typically hear during the day.
The drinks and entertainment don't get started until mid-afternoon/early evening, but it typically goes until dawn twilight.
Even so the crews are up working as soon as there is decent light.
It's probably a few hours before sundown and festivities are in full effect. A tall bugbear is snoozing leaned back in a chair in front of a railed wrap around wooden deck where tables are set up in front of the deck on the grass. A couple goblins are at the table nearest the drunken bugbear counting coin from an apparent card game.
One looks up as you approach. "Order inside.", it says with a choppy guttural croaking common.
The bar tender is an attractive full-figured female human. She hands you (Silenus and Rinn) your drinks (and food if requested).
"Well, from what I hear now, there are two. Can you believe that?
One's a White Dragon. Saw it myself here in Phandalin. It just came down right in the square. Caught a few folk in one of them breath attacks. Our mistress Elsa was caught in the blast from what I hear. She's up and about now, but it gave us all a fright. That Elven mother of hers did someth'n, I'm sure of it, but what I wouldn't do if my own daughter was in a like position? Anyway, it hasn't been back since then. I think Elsa's mum and the constabulary must of wounded it; at least its pride.
The other, well, I don't know if that one counts or not. There's this nature folk who says there is a dragon out by Thundertree. From what I hear no one has been there since Mount Hotenow erupted... Oop... gotta go."

Silenus claps Rinn on the shoulder.
"Arrows and ales then my dude," Silenus says. "And lagers, and whiskeys, and food, oh so very much rad food. Then we can see about this dragon."
Guided by the higher noise levels, Silenus's feet guide him to the Sleeping Giant.
"And a harper?" Silenus asks Rinn. "I want to say I've heard of them but I'd just be lying dude. Are you a musician then?"

Silenus nods at the goblin.
"Thank you my diminutive dude," Silenus says as he walks into the tavern.
He heads to the bar and orders a couple of pints for Rinn and himself.
Silenus takes a long drink, downing the entire pint in one pull, then orders another.
"So what's the tale about this gnarly dragon? It's a bit aggro then?" he asks the bartender.

Silenus Perception: 16
Silenus - You recall hearing Robwin's new alchemist saying something about Thundertree as well as that zombie dude that calls himself an elder.
"Thundertree," Silenus says slowly. "Now that's an awesome name. Real heroing happens at a place called Thundertree."
He looks over at Rinn.
"We should check that place out."
Rinn shrugs, "Sure. But don't you want to go hunt down that dragon?"
"For sure, dude," Silenus says. "It sounds like the big one has gone into hiding but there's a smaller one at this Thundertree place."
(( ... so ... drinks ... and meats ... and conversation ... do you decide what you're doing that evening or the next morning? ... ))
Silenus is ready to head to Thundertree in the morning.
Rinn has restocked his arrows and is good to go when everyone else is.
(( Do either of you talk to any of Rinn's acquaintances in Phandalin or your recent traveling companions before you set off? ))
