In Rinn's rest and meditation, he recalls that earlier today as they passed off the Triboar Trail junction outside of Phandalin they were just fifteen miles (24 Km) east of "Fresh Spring Clan Cavern" where Blaire and a contingent of the local Goblinkin clans were setting up a trading post and geode mine.
Later as you started passing along the western edge of Neverwinter forest, you were maybe fifteen miles (24 Km) west of "Cragmaw Castle" where you had that unfortunate incident with an owlbear, saved the local Goblinkin clans' high chieftain and completely changed the relational dynamic between the regional humanoid and goblinoid population. (( Though the wording is probably closer to how Robwin would describe it. ))
Midway through the night you become aware that a squad of hobgoblins is approaching your camp. They seem to be deliberately trying to be noticed and do NOT have their weapons at the ready. ((Shields are on their backs, swords sheathed, spears at rest, etc. ))
Not having a fishing rod with him, Silenus had waded out into the brook just holding one of his javelins like a spear. He stood incredibly still for a long moment, watching the ebb and flow of the water around him.
He starts to notice that the water is teeming with silverfin.
Within seconds he's speared and tossed onto the bank more of the trout-like fish than he and Rinn could possibly eat.
He grills, roasts and bakes the batch over the campfire. While he and Rinn manage to polish off two of the fish, there are still a handful left.
When the hobgoblins show up in the night, Silenus smiles.
"Hey, now the fish won't go to waste," he says. He then raises his hand in greeting to the hobgoblins. "Are you dudes hungry? We've got lots leftover."
Rinn's hand instinctively goes to his longbow as he first sees the hobgoblins approaching, but relaxes a little as he sees they don't have their weapons at the ready. Rinn silently stays up in his tree perch as Silenus greets the group, and uses his mage hand to swish away some dust and dirt to clear a spot for them to sit, but continues to watch them closely for any change in demeanour.
"Ah! Thank you for hospitality. We had report that clan brother was here. We are to warn of this.", the lead hobgoblin hands Silenus a paper. It's a rough mugshot sketch of Rinn and Robwin. In common it reads, "25 gp for this one". While Silenus is reading the hobgoblin continues, "black spider is enemy of clans and chieftain. No clan will hunt clan brothers. Maybe clanless and greedy. No word who black spider be."
The hobgoblin each swig from a rough gourd flask then hand it to Silenus. Whatever the drink, it smells strong.
The hobgoblin, tilting his head, points to the black spider symbol at the bottom of the sheet, "this black spider." He points to the image of Rinn and Robwin, "this clan brother."
Silenus thinks he's getting the gist of what's going on now.
"Ah, so these two dudes"he says pointing at the pictures of Robwin and Rinn "are like totally cool friends of yours and they need to be warned of the gnarly black spider dude," Silenus asks, part statement and part question.
He's not sure if this is correct though since he knows Rinn is up in the tree and can hear everything going on. If Rinn isn't going to show himself, Silenus isn't going to give away his hiding spot.
Rinn nods in the dark, "Yes. Interesting. Maybe best I stay out of sight unless we know the intentions of whoever we're meeting. No telling who might be in need of some quick gold." Rinn sits thinking for a moment, then adds, "But only 25 gold? Really? That's a little disappointing. If I was going to get a bounty, the least they could do is make it respectable."
"Well maybe you only upset the black spider a little bit," Silenus says. He then starts to chuckle. "But we could see about really churning their waters and get that reward up a bit if you want."
As Silenus packs up his gear so they can continue on to Thundertree he pauses.
"Hey, you know what? I'm going to ask the dragon if they know the black spider dude, or dudette."
(OOC - Rinn might. I just know there's been no mention of a black spider since Silenus joined).
"Hmm. I'm not sure which would be way cooler, a dude named black spider, or a real black spider that's hunting you down," Silenus says. "Guess we'll find out eventually. But let's keep going for now."

Tell us What did Silenus catch? ((Something great!))

Silenus takes the paper and looks carefully at the drawing.
”Gnarly dudes. Is one of these two black spider? What did they do?” Silenus asks.
He sniffs the hobgoblin drink and smiles. He takes a strong pull and hands it back.
”Awesome.”
The hobgoblin, tilting his head, points to the black spider symbol at the bottom of the sheet, "this black spider." He points to the image of Rinn and Robwin, "this clan brother."
"If see, warn."
He points to Robwin, "This Booyahg."
He points to Rinn, "This Vaws-hak."
"Both strong. Bless clan."
He retrieves the paper. "We go."
Silenus thinks he's getting the gist of what's going on now.
"Ah, so these two dudes" he says pointing at the pictures of Robwin and Rinn "are like totally cool friends of yours and they need to be warned of the gnarly black spider dude," Silenus asks, part statement and part question.

The hobgoblin nods an affirmation as the group heads east into the forest.
The remainder of the evening is uneventful.
After the hobgoblins leave, Silenus looks up into the branches of the tree and calls up to Rinn.
"Did you get that my amigo," Silenus asks. "Look out for the black spider. Any idea what that means?"
Rinn nods in the dark, "Yes. Interesting. Maybe best I stay out of sight unless we know the intentions of whoever we're meeting. No telling who might be in need of some quick gold." "Hey, you know what? I'm going to ask the dragon if they know the black spider dude, or dudette."
Rinn gives Silenus a quizzical look. "Why would a dragon know the black spider? I mean, most of the black spider's group has been goblinkin."
"You know the black spider? Is it really big? Or is it like a totally made up nickname?" Silenus asks Rinn
(( OOC - Happy Father's day to whomever it applies. ))
(OOC - I am totally unsure if I'm mixing games together now or not. So if I'm not meant to know anything or much about the Black Spider, my bad!)
Rinn shrugs, "I'm not really sure. But I feel like it's more likely just a nickname."
(OOC - Rinn might. I just know there's been no mention of a black spider since Silenus joined).
