Silenus laughs when the ash zombie hits the support beam but does pause of the briefest of seconds to see if the beam is severely damaged or not, but as it's not collapsing on his head he slashes again at the zombie next to him and Rinn.
Great Axe 1: Attack: 15 Damage: 9
Great Axe 2: Attack: 25 Damage: 13
If the first attack somehow finishes the zombie, Silenus would race over to uses the second attack on one of the tangled up impaled zombies (extra roll if that would be at advantage: 13 )
((Zombie Squirrel... just kidding... the barracks are devoid of any life or undead within. There are provisions, but as the mule found, they are fermented, spoiled, or completely dry rotted.))
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"Well it's not as nice as sleeping under the stars," Silenus says, "but with those gnarly little twigs and those ashy zombies walking around, might be totally worth it to stay inside tonight."
He looks to find something to wedge the door shut (Survival: 8 ) and failing that, he just props himself against the door. Silenus doesn't weigh a lot, but he's pretty sure if someone tries opening the door, that would wake him up pretty quickly.
"Don't step on me in your sleep, mule dude," Silenus adds.
"Maybe," Rinn calls back to the roof, "But then, the stories I've heard have never painted dragons as being much in the way of hospitable hosts." He cleans up a little, collecting arrows as he goes and checking on their new mule. Then he climbs up onto the roof with Silenus to survey the town from that vantage point.
You get a better look at what was once a bustling municipality. The road that runs south of the barracks turns to wrap around the hill in the center. There is the large tower on top of the hill. The road that runs west of the barracks is still fairly straight to the Neverwinter River where it tees north and south along side the riverbank.
Well after sunset, by a beautiful waxing gibbous moon, you see the dragon climb out of the tower roof and take flight.
You see throughout your inspection of Thundertree, various giant spiders creeping around some of the abandoned, dilapidated structures.
Near one building in the southern limit of your view, you see two such spiders trigger a gang of ash zombie much as you did. Four zombie seem to burst to dust before the spiders are put down. The remaining Zombie slows, grows still, and shrinks back into the earth.
Silenus sits still, mesmerized by the sights of the night.
"Well at least we know where the dragon likes to chill during the day," Silenus says. "But for now, I don't know about you dude, I need some shut-eye."

The Zombie bursts to ash leaving only the two impaled on the floor.
Rinn stabs at the zombies on the floor.
Riteknife Attack: 17 Damage: 8 + 4 necrotic soul
Offhand Dagger Attack: 11 Damage: 1
Sneak attack if applicable: 15
Silenus joins Rinn in the middle of the room and hacks down at the two zombies as well.

"Hardy little dudes, aren't they?" Silenus says to Rinn as they attack.
With your efforts the last two Zombies burst into ash.
It was a quick battle, merely minutes.
The mule found an open bag of slightly fermented grain near the kitchen door and is munching away.
Silenus finds a broom or shovel or something he can use as such to push the zombie ash out the door.
Then he checks the door to the exterior to see if it has a usable lock on it.
Once he gets a smell of the slightly fermented grain, Silenus laughs and calls to the mule.
"Careful donkey dude," Silenus says. "Eat all that and the room will be spinning for you."
After closing the door, he will start searching the barracks to make sure there isn't anything else hiding.

The bunks in the north and south rooms are still functional but dusty.
The external doors have a heavy iron slide lock that can be laid down over the doors.
The door at the top of the ladder exists out onto the roof.
Before calling it a night, Silenus slides the heavy lock into place and then climbs the ladder out on to the roof to get a look around Thundertree.
"Why do you think it's all crumbly like this?" he calls to Rinn. "You'd think loads of people would want to see a dragon."

(( If you stay a few hours, roll Perception. ))

Silenus is ready to sleep for the night.
Rinn nods, "And that more lurks around this town. I'll stay up here and keep watch as long as I can."
Rinn remains on the roof, watching throughout the night, and stopping only for his trance rest.
The night passes into day. Rinn notices a few giant spider checking webs and the return of the dragon. Not even a squirrel runs through the area.
Silenus stretches and yawns loudly when he wakes up.
"Awesome," he says. "It's totally amazing what a good night's sleep will do."
He gets his gear together and unbars the front door. Then Silenus pauses for a moment.
"Wonder what we do if the dragon isn't friendly," Silenus muses then shakes his head. "Fight it of course."
Once ready he looks over to Rinn to see if the rogue is ready to go.
