It is just under three hours from the crossroads were you camped to Barthen’s Provisions in Phandalin.
You made it about an hour when Blaire calls out, "Hold up!"
Wolfsong and Ikki, as you hear Blaire shout, you also see the snares set about the road.
TT: Ikki interupts your steps preventing you from stepping into one of these snares.
Rinn & Robwin: You stop the wagon as the goblins, Glufs and Gaatbort jump onto it joining Gralk.
Robwin: With, Comprehend Languages active. You hear Glufs curse, "snare pale skins like boar in woods! Worthless Cragmaw bring death to all clans! We skin them first! Take hides to king and to pale skins! You be big boss of Stonehill or make new clan!" Gaatbort responds, "Unless King given command, then only pale skin fight with Stonehill clan against Cragmaw. Not good for anyone." Finnally, Gralk responds rather upset, "NO! King Grol NOT do this! Is strong King wants Stonehill clan! Wants strength." Glufs scrambles to her taller, thinner daughter, wraps her up round the shoulders, "Peace, calm, king want you. We know. May not want clan. May not want us best. We find out." Gralk, hisses, then nods.
Otherwise you and Rinn see the actions of the goblins and hear their agitated banter but lack comprehension.
(( Wolfsong, Blaire and Ikki have crazy sight blessed passion perception. ))
Eli however being a bit back, still brooding over things a bit and obstinate enough not to stop immediately... ( Athletics (STR) check 18 )
Wolfsong will go over and examine where the snare snapped then turn to Eli, "Praise your god Eli, had this snare been better made you would be hanging like rabbit. You should pay more attention."
Wolfsong then turns to the goblin, having heard them chattering but not understanding them and now seeing them laugh, "Something your kin left?"
With the cart stopped, and the goblins aboard, Robwin turns to them and whispers “Stay down, stay in here, I’ll hide you...”. He mutters a few ancient words and carves a symbol in the air with one finger. He casts minor illusion and another layer of crates, sacks, etc appears in the cart, on top of what’s already there, high enough to just cover the goblins from view.
Then he hisses “Cragmaw goblins!.. Eyes peeled!...” to his companions, as a hushed warning, as he and Lia scan the surroundings for any sign of the goblins...

Gaatbort, picks himself off the ground and pulls his shield. He looks back at Wolfsong and says in broken common, "Yes. Me idiot! This Gragmaw! If here would be black arrows in back! Find trap. Warn pale skin. Eat Gragmaw!"
Then he pulls his shield and machete and begins looking for and disarming snares.
Survival 7
(( Investigation or Survival checks please for anyone wishing to find and disarm the snares ))
Robwin: You and Lia do not find any goblins in your vesinity. The comment Gaatbort made to Wolfsong rings very true to you and your familiar as you remember the halflings wrapped in the back of the wagon.

As Robwin hears Gaatbort explain, he relaxes a little. But he leaves the illusion up for it’s duration (1 minute) anyway, just in case.
He jumps down from the cart, engages the thing that stops the cart rolling off, and then tries to help with investigating the area for snares and traps...
Wolfsong, Blaire, Robwin and Ikki are able to find and disarm a dozen snares over forty-five minutes. Everyone else keeping watch before the party moves on to Phandalin.
"This Gragmaw seems to have a thing for traps," Wolfsong says annoyed as he disables the last snare. "We should take care if we are to hunt him, especially if we are to take the hunt to him."
"What do we purpose to do with our new...'friends'?" Wolfsong then inquires to the group. "I doubt Phandalin will be all that welcoming to goblins after the raids. Should some of use wait outside the village with them while the rest deliver the news on the farm and the good to the trader?"
“I’m happy to stay with theses three... We can practice a little more magic”, Robwin says, smiling and indicating the goblins. “It might be worth one other staying out here with us though, in case trouble finds us...”.
Rinn puts up a hand, "Ooh, I can stay and help keep watch too. I can practice some of my spells as well." He looks around where they stop the cart and finds a tree to scurry up to keep watch and to practice his spells.
Glufs says, "Trees! Yes trees good. Get Gragmaw if come back!" She and the other two start climbing up trees and hiding in them.
(( OOC: Glufs has the dead halfling's sling and bullets; slight of hand nat 20 +3 ))
Eli says, "From what I heard so far from Robwin and the goblins, I believe Gragmaw and Cragmaw are the same word. The name of this clan causing trouble. Is that correct, Robwin?"
"Look, I doubt they'll be back in the two or three hours it will take us to get to town, report, collect some promissory notes and supplies and get back, but I think keeping a watch; hidden, " he gestures to the Elf and goblins climbing, "is a good idea."

Eli triggers a snare, thankfully with his training and weight, the snare itself snaps.
Gaatbort seeing this starts laughing so hard he falls off the wagon and Gralk starts laughing at that.

Blaire just shakes her head.
"Robwin, Rinn, be cautious, please. Glufs, Watch your kin."
She gets up in the driving seat of the wagon. "TT, Are you riding with me?"
"Wolfsong, Ikki, Are you staying here or helping escort us?"
Robwin replies to Eli, “Cragmaw and Gragmaw? Yes it would seem so: one and the same, I think”.
Robwin watches the goblins and Rinn climb up trees, and agrees that’s probably the best cause of action, climbing one himself, right nearby.
“Don’t be long”, he calls down to the rest of the party as they leave with the carts and animals.

Ikki appears to scrutinize the party, then clicks his beak. "I will escort wagon," the bird-man says.
"I will escort as well," Wolfsong nods watching the two elves and the three goblins scramble up their various trees.
Rinn maintains a watch, occasionally practising one of his cantrips to break the monotony (Perception: 18).
Robwin and Lia settle in, up the tree, and try to keep a good lookout...
