Meta:: Right now, the group on the ground only see the windmill. The beasty isn't making a lot of noise. Without Ikki's vantage from the air and Keen Sight, it wouldn't see it now. You'll get halfway up the hill before you notice anything without warning from Ikki *hint* *hint* *nudge* *nudge*
Ikki immediately drops down to fly 10 feet above the wagon. He clicks his beak to catch at least some of the party's attention, not wanting to talk too loudly. "The windmill is under attack by some kind of flying creature."
Meta:: I assume everyone is walking at this point except Ikki. You easily hear the birdfolk's warning and have time to prepare. Your just about a hundred eighty feet from the windmill in about fourty feet is the start of a fourty foot incline up to the stone windmill. The fan is now visible. It is facing West. You are traveling southeast so you are approaching from the north. You don’t see the beast Ikki is talking about.

Rinn rubs his hands together, "Time for a closer look. If you want to hang back a little, I can try get a closer look without alerting whatever it was that Ikki saw. Or you can just make your own way up too, I won't stop you," he chuckles. With that he crouches and attempts to stealth his way to the windmill (Stealth: 8). He doesn't know what is up ahead, but he's not taking chances of waiting until later to stealth up. A long stealthy approach is better than a swift fumble, he thinks to himself.
Edit: With not much cover, Rinn struggles to make a great stealthy approach, but it's not his worst attempt at sneaking he remembers a time from a while ago...
"F*** Hells, I'll keep back a bit, ya? A don't $%==÷ *&^%% understand what flying creature is out this way beyond the dragon folk been talking about.", says Blaire
Rinn:: As you approach, provided, no one alerts the creature, you manage to get all the way up to the north side of the windmill crawling over a broken iron fence, on the East side near the south corner is "the flying creature, it has a vaguely humanoid head, the body of a lion, and the wings of a dragon. Its long tail ends in a cluster of deadly spikes that look like they could impale prey at an impressive range. It is scratching and sniffing at the door. You have the distinct feeling that if the thing wasn't occupied with the door it would have easily noticed your approach.

Rinn tries to think back to his readings as a child, had he seen something like this in all those dusty old books? (Nature: 17). He then turns to Ikki, pointing in the direction of the creature with a humanoid head, "Do ya think it talks? Could try just persuade it ta leave?"
Thinking back Rinn clearly reasons this must be a manticore and would likely understand common at least. They're rumored to "all be evil" but they often had mates and litters and cared well for their families, those they served and those who served them, so maybe just selfish with hedonistic and sadistic tendencies. (Rinn is usually intelligent and wise enough not to pigeon hole anything into one 'simple bucket', but it often leaves him in more complicated circumstances, like right now.)
Remembering his readings about the manticore, Rinn looks between the front of the windmill and Ikki. "That manticore... they're not known to be the nicest, but maybe it's just looking for some food or something? We could talk to it. They're supposed to be selfish and bad, but maybe it's been driven from its home by the dragon? It does seem like the dragon everyone is talking about has caused some issues. What do you think? Should we go talk?"
The aarakocra looks at the elf with one red brown eye, then turns its head and blinks at him with the other. After shivering his neck and shoulder feathers, he gives a quick jerk of a nod. "Worth a try. *click* I will approach from other side. If it charges, I will try to out fly it." The bird man then hurries around the windmill to approach from the opposite side. He makes sure to stay at least 30 feet away, stepping away from the windmill to where the manticore would be able to see him. Holding his spear at a diagonal across his feathered chest, he clicks his beak. "Hear!" he says loudly. "Manticore! *click click click* Do you need assistance?"
If the manticore starts to turn and fly at him threateningly, Ikki will fly in the opposite direction, using both his flying speed and action (100 feet total) to try to outrun the creature. His goal will be to circle around and fly back toward the group low enough for them to be able to launch some projectiles at it.
How far away are those on the ground away from the beast? Eli will draw a javelin and advance with the others while trying to maintain cover.

“Well then, what ever it is let’s take care of it”
varius draws his rapier, it seems elegantly made a has some draconic in it (if you know draconic it says: dragon son, go forth)
varius will prepare booming blade

Eli will watch as Rinn tries to make his way but, will advance if needed to keep him in sight. Javelin at the ready

Ikki lands and follows Rinn, also attempting to be stealthy.
Stealth: 18
The bird man has his spear at the ready, prepared to defend himself if the flying beast comes at him.

The manticore backs up from the door, looks at Ikki. Ikki sees the manticore smile widely. "We need meat."
Rinn, you clearly see the manticore's hanches looking like a cat preparing to pounce.
The beast is interrupted by a female voice from the second story ring out, "Are you loony?!"
“We suggest you leave now manticore”
"We? *click*" Ikki replies, ignoring the woman above, but still ready to fly if needed. "You hunt for family?"
