Between searching for Castor (Pollux? No, no... definitely Castor... right?), playing with Pollux and the chew toy and generally being oblivious, Kaemgen is likely to go hours before he thinks to so much as look back towards the farmhouse unless his attention is drawn there somehow. "That scabooch!" Kaemgen would eventually complain to Mr. Marblebeard. "I bet they ran off to Adabra now that everything has calmed down..."
"Is that it, Pollux? Did your brother abandon us??"
Mr.Dark only lets the others search for a short time for the pup before eventually deciding to end the joke. Besides, they should head out and not spend all day searching for no reason. He calls out loudly, "Kaemgen, I think I found what you're looking for!"

Kaengen suggests they leave the dead pig that Castor took down for the farmer. "It's a big larger than we want to be taking on a hike I'd think..." With the same mindset, Kaemgen doesn't look to hunt big game on the travels back but instead works on some training with the Good Boys... Heel, Sit, Come, Place are all commands he works on with them, trying to get them to at least recognize the commands even if they're not ready to obey at a moment's notice quite yet. That'll come... Maybe...
With Mr Dark keeping an eye out for things ahead of them, Kaemgen continuing to play (train) the wolves and Auric diligently making sure the group stays on track. Scott spends his time watching the groups six. Particularly keeping an eye out for wererats and orcs, since the group has recently run afoul of them.
Perception: 11
He also spends the time on the groups journey back towards Phandalin foraging for food. The more they can find, the less gold they have to spend on supplies. (Natural explorer feature, grassland)

If Castor abandoned them that'd mean more attention for him! Even though he missed Adabra too, Pollux was dedicated to his duty. Of course he was a bit a yes wolf at that moment, agreeing with Kaemgen and leading them some what astray, but he was a good boy! Of course Mr. Dark had to soon spoil all the fun. Castor had been there all along.
When Kaemgen would declare to leave the pig, he couldn't get the next words out before the pair both started whining. The more reasons he gave to make it a no, the fussier they got. And when he'd try to encourage them to move forward and train, he was met with even more dramatics. In tandem, as if rehearsed, the wolves wobble their legs, place one paw over their faces and flop over like they fainted. The twins exhale deep huffs. They were starving.
Eventually, in order to quiet down and get moving, like spoiled kin, Castor and Pollux strike a bargain with Kaemgen. They each tear off their own full ham haunch to go. Pollux makes sure he has his chew bone with him. After measuring and comparing each other's meat, they were ready to go. Then as the wolves contently trot along with their prize in their mouths, they stain their coats and leave a trail of blood behind them. They wouldn't necessarily listen, as in act on all of the commands correctly, but they'd pay attention to Kaemgen's training efforts. Kaemgen knew they understood, Marblebeard could confirm that. Castor and Pollux were just being pigheaded today.
Auric took the time to review the map prior to setting off. Familiar with the path he'd be able to indicate if the group some how strays from their path. He'd also be able to plan an alternate route should there be any obstacles. Then throughout their journey he could focus on keeping an eye on the trail itself and take the time to consult with Mr. Dark scouting ahead. Immediately, the dragonborn picks out a single pair of orc tracks. They were headed the same way down the Triboar trail and appeared to be about as fresh as yesterday evening. It was most likely that orc they let go from the cellar.
Bright eyed, bushy tailed and completely alert, Mr. Dark was entirely aware of their surroundings. He had been prepared and patient and Tymora awarded him. His senses were scheduled to be sharp and on point all day. And for the first half hour of their trek, besides the 'circus' going on behind him, things were eerily quiet... suspiciously quiet...
Meanwhile at the back... Thrashing through the bush, with a two wolf open buffet, over the plants they go, snorting all the way. Berries or tea leaf on site, made his spirits bright. Scott didn't lose sight, gathering for tonight... However, what little did survive the twins stampede, Marblebeard couldn't promise wasn't marked on by Pollux first or bled on by Castor's snack. It could all be washed right? Of course it could!
Auric would soon notify that the group was coming up on Conyberry and there was still evidence that the orc had went that way too. It was possible he stayed there overnight. Armed with that information, Mr. Dark separates himself to get ahead of the group once again to take a thorough look around.
Mr Dark
Scouting ahead of the party, Mr. Dark locates the abandoned town of Conyberry that was ransacked by barbarians years ago. Once again things were eerily silent. It wasn't until reaching the edge of the ruins he'd feel a warning chill in the air. Ducking into the shadows, the man bravely steps forward to peer beyond.
WHOOSH!
Wind swirls, stopping Mr. Dark in his tracks and guiding him to look up. With his own eyes he witnesses a sleek profile and a spined crest rise into the air. The scales of a young wyrmling glistens pure white as it's chest expands and wings unfurl for a grand inhale. The dragon breathes an icy blast down upon it's prey.
A familiar orc howling in fear is silenced on the spot. Chilled to perfection.
That meant more time for picking for the back. How about some roots then? Figuring it was a brilliant idea, Marblebeard would try to pull out some roots in the mean time. Grabbing hold, he'd tug and tug and tug, only to sneeze, trip, and spill all his harvest. Berries roll and leaves scatter further into the thicket. Scott's reaction was to launch himself forward in his desperate attempt to retrieve them. Telepathically linked and eager to help, Pollux dives in effort to assist in the search.
Phhhbbbfft!
Mr. Dark
Sniff. Sniff. Nostrils flare. Feral eyes dart and powerful body faces the source.
A large sphere of yellow, nauseating gas erupts from the trails edge. It spreads around the trees and shrugs, heavily obscuring the area. A cloud smelling a mix of rotten eggs and skunk cabbage lingers in the air centred from where Scott and Pollux pounced...

Mr. Dark rushes to close the gap between him and the group, while also hoping increase the distance between him and the dragon. Using the cover of the trees, he easily narrows down the location.
It was a symphony of gagging. Some retching. And... was someone eating it?
Xeno and Kaemgen, having been further away from the initial impact proved to work in their favour. Well, besides still having to experience a blast of stench so bad it assaulted their eyes, nose and throat. Kaemgen could feel Castor leaning against his leg as he too fights off the nausea. The three of them at least manage to keep their contents in their stomachs. Auric however, didn't fair so well. Even from the source of the gas, Scott showed remarkable resistance to it's effects. For now. The smell was beyond foul and threatened to overwhelm ones senses if not freed of the noxious cloud.
The golden dragonborn was testament to what was to come. He was reeling, unable to maintain control at this time. Not that it helped, but Auric wasn't alone! Over at Marblebeard's side, Pollux was unable to keep his meal down. Nor was he willing to give it up. It was not an option for that pup. Lacking the same grace as the other, he'd scarf, only to b- blaaarrrrrrghhhh.
Not wanting to simmer in this longer than necessary, instincts kick in. Castor double taps on Kaemgen's boot, bites down on his laces and tugs to communicate it was time to move.
Mr. Dark would make it in time to witness Castor break through the wall of mustard yellow. Wide eyed and sneezing. The wolf shudders, giving himself a full body shake. One could see the stink radiate off his fur.
Simmer Down or Let Them Simmer? (Having failed their saves Auric and Pollux are retching and reeling for an action while Mr. Dark essentially dashed. Pausing for RP/action opportunity. Scott, Kaemgen and Xeno can use an action to move out of the cloud, or try do to something else.)
Yes, yes, Kaemgen thinks to himself in answer to Castor's pleas to leave, not thinking aloud as trying not to breathe more of this foulness. Go! Go! he mentally tries to tell Castor and once he sees the wolf scrambling away for fresh air, Kaemgen too begins to move. But it is not fresh air that Kaemgen rushes towards, but Pollux. Kaemgen rushes after his companion aiming to grab them up into his arms and get out of this stink bomb as quickly as possible. One arm under the hindquarters, the other under the chest. Undoubtedly they will squirm and wiggle, and Kaemgen already suspects he'll need a good bath after this, but nobody is left behind!
Kaemgen figures Pollux needs the most help and Auric is at least in enough control of themselves to not eat their own sick. Probably... So he grabs up the beast and double times it out of the odor as quickly as he can.
The wave of stench hits Auric sensitive nostrils like fusillade of rotten eggs. Retching and unable to think clearly, the dragonborn stumbles back the way he came, hopefully away from this horrible stink bomb and whatever made it.
