Caelynn can’t help but laugh at Oak’s antics, a smile gracing her features for the first time that day. “Fine by me.” She steps back a few feet from the door, both to give Oak and Aimon room and to avoid being hit with flying wood chips.
((As Oak rushes with Aimon towards the door, he relishes one pure moment of bliss. And it seems the two men are of like mind, and in perfect sync, and all the stars and moons must be in alignment, wheeling up for the perfect kick...............))
The door bursts into fragments and slivers that strike the wall on the other side of what was the door. The torchlight reveals another hallway running parallel to then one you are in. On the left, you can see one door. At the edge of the light, you can barely make out another doorway. On the right, there is a door every 40 feet. Portraits hang on the walls between each of the doors.
Oak looks very pleased with himself and somewhat proud of Aimon.
He catches Caelynn’s smile, and smiles even more broadly, giving her a gracious half-nod-half-bow, in recognition of having some hand in her mood slightly lifting.
Oak then turns to Trill, with a very ‘hells yeah! that’s what I’m talking about!’ look on his face, and holds his hand up for the obligatory high five!
Assuming the party proceed through the door, Oak will step aside and wait to guard the rear, bowing again as Caelynn passes by.
Aimon looks at all of the doors and sighs. Once was enough he thinks to himself. Though seeing all those splinters fly as the door exploded was pretty satisfying.
"Anyone with any ideas more clever than what I'm going to suggest?" Aimon asks. "We open doors until we find something amusing?"
"Not really, unless you want to try reaching out to your friend again to see if we're heading the right way?" Caelynn offers. The group's antics have certainly distracted her from her worries, and her demeanor has opened up significantly. The thought suddenly strikes her that breaking through the door might have alerted something to their presence, so she glances around for any creatures.

You hear Oak muttering under his breath and nodding his head at the doors in turn “red, yellow, green, blue, white, black...”. He takes out his coloured dice again and rolls: ( 5 )...
“White” he says aloud, “Third door along the right hand passage!” he calls from the back, retrieving his toy.
He lifts his torch high, and holds his axe in his axe hand, ready to explore further.
((OOC: @DM did Oak manage to gather much dirty bandage material?))

Aimon has to admire Oak's enthusiasm, but wonders if random movement up and down the hallway based on the roll of a die will be the most efficient means of exploration.
Aimon looks at the portraits on the walls as he walks to the first door. Before he gets there, he tries contacting the voice in his head again. "Can you tell where we are?" he thinks.
Then he examines the first door on the right for traps and locks.
Caelynn you peer down the halls for any sign of movement and strain your ears for the slightest sound as Aimon ventures to one of the doors. For a moment, you think you see the eyes of one of the portraits watch Aimon approach, but you write it off as shadows playing tricks with your eyes. This notion is shattered, however, as the eyes flicker towards you. The mouth of the painting curves up into a malicious smile.
Aimon, you detect no traps, and the door is unlocked. A short reply reaches your mind, "You're close. Head towards the left."
Suddenly tending up again, Caelynn walks over to Aimon and whispers, “Be alert, one of the paintings is watching us and it doesn’t appear very friendly. I fear that some sort of spirit or demon hides inside. I would hold off on attacking, though. We know how powerful the entities protecting this castle can be, and I’d like to avoid combat with them if possible.” She repeats the whispered message to Trill, and then to Oak.
Caelynn, you see the painting puts a finger to its lips to give a silent sshhhhhh! before it smiles again, showing long and sharp fangs. It appears to walk, and disappears from the torn canvas.
Aimon nods at Caelynn’s warning. Here’s to hoping we don’t have to fight our way out of here he thinks to himself. Then he turns from the door he was examining.
”The mystery woman is still there and she says to go left.”
He’s not sure now about what is more unsettling, the paintings watching them or the voice knowing exactly where he is.

Oak follows the party down the left passage.
“The pictures are moving?” he whispers back, when Caelynn tells him “this place keeps getting creepier by the minute!”.
He makes a point of keeping an eye on any paintings they get near ((are there any this way?)). He holds his torch close to get a good look, and hopes his monstrous appearance discourages whatever-might-be-there from trying anything ‘silly’.

Aimon pauses for a moment and looks up at Oak.
”We may possibly, just possibly mind you, be going about this backwards,” he says.
”What if I aid and abet you in putting some of the bovine muscle into that door?”
((too late!))
“ONE!!... (put your back in to it. Imagine it’s a demon lord!...).”
”TWO!!... (you did already check it wasn’t just open already didn’t you??!)...”
”THREE!!...”
