Aimon looks from one doorway to the other. Then he looks around at all of the group, eyes lingering a moment longer on Eldeth to make sure she's not about to pass out. He also spares a moment longer for Topsy. He's beginning to suspect she may not be suffering from lycanthropy after all, but he does look at her eyes to see if there's any sign that they may end up with a wererat attacking them from behind anytime soon.
Caelynn shrugs. "Might as well. Not like we have anything else to go on." Traversing this strange network of tunnels and chambers has made her anxious to get the fight over with.
"At least after all we've been through, I think it's safe to say we lost any drow guards that were following us," Aimon says with a smile.
That does make him wonder about the piece of jewelry he tried to 'borrow' that got him tossed in that cell in the first place. It would be nice to get a second chance at that he thinks. Shame to do time in jail for only a failed attempt at burglary. He hopes his parents aren't too distressed about his disappearance. Well his mother anyway. He can't imagine his stoic father expressing much in the way of distress. Even though he's been raised among the elves, he knows his behavior is influenced far more by his mother's side than his father's.
"Trill, ready to go?" he asks. "One wing up for yes? Two wings up for hell yes?"
Oak looks sidelong at Aimon, then at Caelynn and Trill, and the others... “We’re being pursued??! ...and you were going to tell me when?! ...gGruuuurrr!”.
Oak looks lost for words, and then his face looks like thunder, and then... he bursts out laughing!... “Ha! Yes, you’d have to properly be crazy to follow anyone in here, that’s for sure! Ha! Oh my gods! Haha!...”
"Let's just say we found ourselves in a drow jail for, um, a few misunderstandings. Some priest named Ilvara. Not really sure what she was up to, but we managed to get away. There were more of us in the beginning but we've lost a few along the way."
He pauses for a moment and looks over at Caelynn and Trill.
"This reminds me. I still have that mask and vial of black syrupy stuff we took from the chest in her chambers."
Oak’s head snaps back to Aimon at the mention of the name, “Ilvara?... Mistress Ilvara?... hmmmm ...Not, ‘Velkynvelve’??... .....”, he looks away and snorts...
”I was headed there before I got wind of another lead... before I got turned around... and hopelessly lost”. He looks a little ashamed...”lost in more ways than one perhaps,” he says under his breath, “..before you came to my rescue”.
"Yeah. That's the place," Aimon answers. "Once we deal with this, whatever this is, you'll have to tell us what you were headed there for."
He eyes Oak for a moment. It didn't sound like he was in league with Ilvara, but they might want to ask the big minotaur a few more questions about his past.
He rests a hand on the large slab door and as soon as the others all give the signal that they're ready, he will push it open.
Oak’s looks like he’s going to explain: his face going from determination, to anger, to hope, and then sadness... Then, at somewhat of a loss, he says simply “Answers”, but his whole demeanour communicates that maybe he’s not sure what he hoped to find.
“You’re right. When we’re out of all this maybe I’ll try and explain”.
He focusses again on the job at hand with renewed energy and something like a smile “I’m ready when you are to move on!”.
Caelynn subconsciously brushes a hand against the tiny braids in her hair at the mention of their fallen friends. In the past couple weeks, their numbers had grown from one to six.
"Perhaps we can all do some explaining tonight. Despite what we've been through together, the truth is none of us have gotten to know each other very well. We're just a group of strangers who happened to get thrown in the same prison cell."
Don't want to ruin the moment, but when you push the slab open, it reveals a 20 by 20 foot room. In each of the corners, a stone sarcophagus rests. Each sarcophagus has an identical, robes figure carved into the lids. Each figure is in a resting pose, and their head appears to be a grinning skull. Ornate designs and trimming line the sarcophagus. Make an investigation check.
Caelynn surveys the room, feeling an odd mix of relieved and frustrated when she still doesn't see this mysterious woman. "This might be where Narot and his friends came from," she suggests.
Trill does a hop from one leg to the other and flips Aimon double birds, though more playfully in response to his 'wing' comment than to when she was asked to fly when they escaped.
((She's got arms, not wings, which is a big part of the not being able to fly... :P ))

Caelynn and Oak, you notice a small gap in the floor underneath the far right sarcophagus. Looking closer, you can see that that sarcophagus is over a hole in the floor.
"There's a hold under this one which might lead further down," Caelynn points out, crouching down next to it. "But, we'd have to move the sarcophagus to get to it, which might trigger a trap or alert any spirits resting inside."
“Huh... maybe not a dead end then!...” says Oak looking down at the small gap under one of the sarcophaguses. “Should I try and open it, or move it? If one of you grabs that end, maybe I can get us through there?”.
Oak stows his axe for now and cracks his knuckles. He moves a little closer to the suspicious sarcophagus... but before he attempts to open or move it, he pauses and looks a little wary at it.
((Is there any glow, heat, light, mist, or anything (sound) coming from it? Or is it just ‘normal looking’?))
((He’ll try and open/move it if everyone is happy with that and maybe if someone can ‘help’ - he still has exhaustion#1: disadvantage on checks))
The shrine is similar to the to the ones you saw before, but this one has been cut clean in half and has fallen to the ground.
Aimon, you feel Dawnbringer reach out to your mind, but you receive no message. The connection seems muffled and strained for some reason.

“gGruuumph!!” Oak snorts in approval, “I like that!... We can’t get lost if we keep going straight!”
