As all the party climbs down into the chamber, the sarcophagus overhead grinds against the floor and covers the hole seemingly of its own volition. As soon as this happens, the torch in Jimjar's hand sputters and goes out like someone blowing out a candle. A thin wisp of smoke curls from the torch. Quietly cursing, Jimjar drops to his knees and starts working to start the torch up again.
A cold, dry woman's whisper suddenly fills the space around you, seeking to come from all around the room, "Who disturbs my resting place?" Even though it is a whisper, the raspy words penetrate deeply.
Aimon peers around trying to see if he can make anything out, or see anything coming towards them so he can warn Oak.
”We did not mean to disturb you. We were set upon by wraithlike halflings outside of your home and we came in seeking shelter,” Aimon says. “We were looking for somewhere safe to stay and ended up here.”
He backs away from the golden sarcophagus as he speaks. If this voice belongs to a spectre like the others she could come out of anywhere, but he feels like the coffin is her home.

“Oh no!...” Oak breathes, as the light is snuffed out and he’s plunged into complete darkness. He shuffles his feet into a better stance and grips his greataxe in both hands.
Then he stands dead still and slowly closes his eyes. He raises his nose to the air, smelling and listening intently for any sound or movement...
Trill sees Oak looking around in the dark and chirps softly to let him know it's her before taking him by the elbow. She knows how unfunny being in the dark is.

Oak hears Trill nearby and is greatly reassured. He whispers back to her, saying, “If anything approaches,... point me in the right direction,... and stick behind me!”.
The voice responds to Aimon's message with, "It appears that my servants failed to kill you then. Well, that can--" She gives a gasp and pauses for a moment before saying in a calm voice full of hatred, "One of you holds the Tear. Relish your last moments of life, mortals."
At that, Jimjar manages to light the torch. He raises to illuminate a shadowy and gaunt female figure rise from the sarcophagus. The figure is cloaked in a tattered, gray robe that trails off into shadows. In one gnarled hand, she wields a crooked staff topped with mass of dark crystals throbbing with a faint purple glow. Crimson eyes glow within the shadowed recesses in her hood. Her slightly translucent form hovers a few feet above the sarcophagus. At the same time, a dark mist rises from each the clay jars and form into a roiling mass of shadows. Limbs and pained expressions of fear, hatred, and anguish extend from the masses along with flawed limbs that flail wildly about. Each face and limb disappears back into the mass to be replaced with others that whirl around their centers. Faint whispers and please for mercy emanate from each mass that barely reach your ears.
Aimon watches the spectre or whatever it is rise up, and despite the imminent danger and the swirling shadows, he notices the staff with the crystals. If that doesn’t kill us all, it will be worth a fortune.
Caelynn raises her bow, grateful to finally be getting this over with. She resolves to keep an eye on Eldeth and make sure the woman doesn't charge straight into the fray.
Oak let’s out an almighty roar “mMRraaghhh-h-h!!...” and flies in to a frenzied rage... ...He storms forward and swings his axe at the ghastly woman...
Aimon calls again to the voice of the sword, we’re here and the leader of these shadowy spectres is upon us. Anything you know about her could give us an edge. Don’t hold back now.
Aimon continues backing away but pulls out his hand crossbow, takes advantage of the confusion Oak is causing and fires a bolt at the wraith-like woman. Then he moves slowly to try and disappear in the shadows created by the flickering torch.
(Attack with crossbow with sneak attack: Attack: 23 Damage: 15 and then uses bonus action to try to Hide. Stealth: 17 )
The closest two masses of clawed, fanged, and roiling darkness drift closer to the party. As they approach, waves of despair and lethargy was over you. Longing whispers fill your mind. Warmth. Despair. So lonely. Help me. Empty. ((These ones will be called Close Left (Cl) and Close Right (CR). The other two, Far Right (FR) and Far Left (FL), move fifteen feet towards Oak.))
Make a wisdom saving throw of 12 or higher. On a fail, you take 4 psychic damage and have disadvantage on your next saving throw. On a successful save, you take half damage rounded up.

Brysis drifts towards Oak and attempts to strike him with her staff. Attack: 22 Damage: 24 points of necrotic damage. If it hits, you need to make a Constitution Saving Throw of 14 or higher. If you fail, your Max HP is also reduced by that amount of damage. On a successful save, you suffer no additional effect.
Caelynn winces as the whispers fill her mind, but manages to push through most of the effect. Unfortunately, it's enough that she loses focus on her spell. She considers re-casting it, but decides she would rather save her magic in case anyone needs healing later. Running a hand over her bow, it briefly becomes surrounded by the familiar purple aura as she shoots another arrow at Brysis.
At Trill's arcane sound effects, Brysis chuckles and shakes her head as she scoffs, "Feeble magic."
Oak and Sarith rush in to engage Brysis. Oak's bellow drowns out everything else in the chamber as he slashes deeply into her side. Her chuckle turns into a wince and gasp of pain.
Following suit, Sarith lunges and thrusts both rapiers out. She manages to block one, but the other slides into her robes.
Jimjar, Eldeth, Caelynn, and Aimon fire their projectiles at Brysis. Only two manage to strike her ghostly form.
Brysis swings her staff towards Oak in a retributive strike ( not sure if that hits or not)
Topsy swings her dagger and manages to score a wound against one of the masses of darkness.
The party is up.
