(I'm doing Trill's thing now, and I'll get Caelynn's up in the morning.)
Yes, with Trill and Caelynn working together, they can can form tattoos. Either of you can make a Sleight of Hand check with advantage to see how it turns out.
The next morning, Trill begins to work her magic over the enigmatic gem she has had in her possession for quite some time. As she feels her spell begin to pry back the layers of magic permeating the stone, she suddenly finds herself in a dark void, her surroundings vanishing in an instant. She hears no sound, and she appears to be floating in a dismal void. A small cone of feeble light illuminates the space around her, and the nothingness about her recoils from it. If she cries out, she can hear her voice echo out into the eternities about her before fading into the void. Looking around, she can see nothing but impenetrable darkness all around her. As she wonders where she is, she is suddenly struck by an overpowering feeling of nothingness. Somewhere deep down inside of her, some primal part of her instinctually recognizes that she is utterly alone in the primordial nothingness that came before reality even existed. This place is nothing.
She is aware of a presence near her. Looking around, she sees a humanoid silhouette amongst the oblivion. This form is outlined in a faint white light similar to yours, and you can see no features besides its outline. She isn't sure if it is thousands of miles away or a few feet from her. Distance is meaningless here. Its feet are angled downwards, and both of its hands are out to its sides slightly in a giving gesture. A slow voice rings out into the emptiness about you that is neither male or female, and its incredibly smooth tone echoes and fades through eternity. It says, "Welcome to Nothing, the place that doesn't exist, the place where time sprang from. Hearing my true name would unravel your existence, erasing you from time, so you may simply call me Milim. The stone you hold called the Tear of Sorrows is a fragment of me existing in reality, stolen from me by an ambitious mage long ago. I wish to have it back, but the magics binding it to your world are alien to me; I can not touch it there." Milim begins slowly orbiting about you as it continues, "You have peered into the depths of my home, but you have no idea what power you could wield with the stone you hold. If you allow me, I can show you how to bend reality to your will, show you the bliss of nothingness. I can show you how to be free of your restrictive existence. I can show you the truth. I can show you how to be nothing." Milim begins to drift towards Trill, outstretching a hand of darkness.
Oak is very pleased with the start made on his tattoos. It WAS painful, but more in an emotional way than just raw hurt. His destroyed skin is now emblazoned with the language of his people. He can’t thank Caelynn and Trill enough for their help.
He’s both ecstatic, and sad, and moved, and empowered by the designs. He’s almost overwhelmed. But he feels a connection to his kin like he has never really know. Not for decades anyway...
He eats a little more, enjoying it more than before, and drinks... the food and ale seem to spark memories in him that are not his... But he puts it down to his bedraggled state and befuddled mind right now.
He finds his bed and collapses for a long rest...
((OOC: switched subclass from Path of the Beserker, to Path of the Ancestral Guardian.... Also gaining: +10ft to speed (total 40ft), and an ‘extra attack’, on level up))
((edit... and oh shooot!! He now has 60hp!! Which is almost effectively 120hp for mundane damage types, under the right circumstances, due to resistances from rage! Omg!))
Void-Trill cocks her head at Milim, trying to think if the name or reference to The Nothing sounds familiar. She tries to get a read on the other's intent and nature... the party's got enough demons poking around their business, without her inviting in another...

As soon as Caelynn closes her eyes that night, she suddenly finds herself in an empty, magnificent chamber. Beautiful stone floors reflect the light of several torches attached to stone pillars that support the domed roof overhead. You can see that the stands are empty this time, but Queen TItania sits regally atop her throne. She wears a elegant gown made of spider silk and spun moss. In one hand, she holds her scepter topped with dazzling diamond, and her slightly curled auburn hair cascades down down her form. She looks down upon you with her cool gaze and says, "Hello Caelynn. I can not talk long because we are currently fighting of several Demon Lords assualting the Feywild. Before I go, I must warn you that Zuggtmoy has found her way to the Underdark. She rules over all that rots, and she is the Queen of Decay and Fungus. Be warned, she is very powerful." She pauses for a moment, waiting for any responce.
Trill, you have never heard of the Nothing. As you ponder about it, you recall something about how wraiths are formed, but you remember nothing else. You can't quite get a read on Milim. It is too alien for you to understand its motives.
Aimon wakes from where he fell asleep on the sofa again. He jumps up and looks around the room. Despite sleeping on the couch, he feels more rested than he has in ages. But there's more than that. His attention seems far more focused and there's an extra bounce in his step.
"Seems that been nearly killed by a dragon does a body good," Aimon says.
He stretches a bit and then starts looking around for any of the others.
Frila woke up, looked around her seeing most of them still asleep. Her eyes that before almost flashed security and happiness, now void of both. Picked up her sword and stabbed the air to try to kill a fly, missed, her arm relaxes slowly dropping the sword and puts it in place again. Her stare now focused on the dirty floor due to the food and burned pieces of gear. She grabbed an apple, went downstairs, didn´t even noticed Aimon waking up, left a gold coin at the bar, it doesn´t pay for us all but it pays for alot. and sat at the entrace of the inn with a blank expression.
Oak wakes, and for a second he thinks he sees something in the shadows in his room. He’s not startled. If anything he’s comforted by the large shapes moving about him. He rubs his eyes and looks again. There’s nothing there...
As he moves through into the common room, he bumps his head on the doorway and scuffs a shoulder on the doorframe. Is he bigger? Taller? Broader? Impossible...
He sees Aimon and a memory stabs at him like a sword. “Aimon, can I have a word?...”. He invites him to his room for a second.
Aimon would notice that Oak looks bigger, but there’s something else, his normally jet black hide is flecked with grey and white in places. Almost like a silverback gorilla. Maybe it’s just the results of being burned, but he looks, old. Not ancient. Just.. older....
Oak starts: “I’m sorry about your sword....”. Then loses his place and can’t think how to go on... “When we faced the dragon. I don’t know if we died, or what happened, really. But I know Dawnbringer intervened....”.
”I know it’s all just our brain chemistry, and memories.. but... I saw something... I saw the other side. Before Dawnbringer brought me back, I saw our bone-garden, where the herd lay their dead to rest. Just a memory, I’ve seen it once before. But I saw further... I saw into the halls of the dead”.
He shakes his head like it’s not possible. “It’s where our greatest heroes and warriors are said to drink and feast after they fall in battle. I saw them. And they saw me....”.
”Its just, now I’ve seen, I can’t unsee it.... ... I’ve been looking for my kind all my life, but they’ve been with me all along”. He looks around the room.
”I just wanted to say... I’m sorry for your loss. But I feel like she has left a little something with me. Some of her... sight. I know it’s no consolation but I feel like her essence is still with us.... somewhere..... I think we can get her back”. He looks at the half-elf. And puts his big hand on his shoulder.
Aimon smiles at Oak as he recounts his near death experience.
"Thanks big guy, that's good to hear." Aimon says. Then he registers the changes in Oak. He reaches up and gives Oak a couple of taps on his chest. "You feel like you're wearing armor."
He then looks down at the cracked handle of what remains of the sword.
"I know we'll find your people, "Aimon begins. "But, you know, if for some reason it takes a while, and if you can handle living with some very prim and proper elves, there would always be room in my village for you. Would be nice to have someone not so old and stuck in their ways to hang around with."
He then claps his hands together and quickly shakes out his shoulders.
"How about we find some breakfast?" he says as he looks Oak up and down again. "You look like we're always going to have to be on the look out for snacks from now on."
Caelynn bows her head respectfully to Titania. "I appreciate you taking time away from protecting your realm to speak with me. And thank you for the warning. We'll be sure to keep an eye out."
"For now though, if you have a moment longer, we could use some guidance. Grazz't has plans to unleash chaos on the city of Gracklestug, and he's forced us to play along. If we fight him outright, there's no way we'll survive, but if we don't do as he says, he's threatened harm against Aimon's family."
Milim chuckles and says, "No, I am not a Demon Lord as you call them. It may be difficult for you to process, but I do not exist. This place you see before you," it gestures out at the darkness, "is an image your mind conjured. You can't process what true emptiness, so you instinctually visualized what you see." Milim returns to her normal position and says, "So, do you accept my offer?"
Queen Titania gives a sly smile as she says, "Oh, I'm didn't take a break to speak to you. I'm still fighting as we speak." For a brief moment, the scene of the hall fades and is replaced by a scene of combat raging under a canopy of crystalline trees. You see hordes of horrific demons battling beautiful creatures of nature. You see Queen Titania in the middle of the battle wearing silver armor as beautiful as it is functional. You see her swing her scepter into the face of a howling demon with too many mouths, and the abomination incinerates in a burst of iridescent flame. The court returns, and Queen Titania says atop her throne once more, "All I can say is that you must lose some battles to win the conflict overall. Follow your heart."
Milim extends its hand out and grasps Trill's. It says, "See you on the other side."
Trill blinks, and she finds herself back in the Material Plane where she was just moments ago. The only difference is the Tear of Sorrows in her grasp. She sees oily tendrils of darkness extending from it, writhing in the air like serpents. An outline of a white circle forms on the gem, and it shifts towards you, causing the Tear to look like an eye for a moment. The tendrils shoot forward into Trill, and they penetrate her skin and worm inside of her. She feels a dark power envelope her, changing her. The moment stretches into what feels like an eternity before the tendrils disappear, leaving the Tear as it was before.
I'll finish up the final draft of the Tear of Sorrows sometime soon, but the following changes happen to Trill as she fully attunes:
Minor benefit: While attuned to the Tear of Sorrows, you can use an action to cast mirror image at will. After you cast the spell, roll a d6. On a roll of 1-5, you can't cast the spell until the next dawn.
Minor Detriment: You gain the following flaw: ‘In the dark something lingers that I cannot see. I need light all the time.’
Caelynn instinctively takes a few steps back from the massive demon, eyes wide. It takes her a moment to recompose herself once the imagery of the court returns "....I see." She finally stutters out. "I should probably leave so you can focus fully on the battle, then."
Suddenly, she remembers something. "Oh! Before I go, I did make a promise to one of my friends, Oak. He's a good man, and I think right now he could use all the support he can get. He's also shown great devotion to your cause. You're obviously very busy, but if you ever have a spare moment, could you possibly just keep an eye out for him?"
Queen Titania smiles shyly and says, "I'll see to it. If you want to help him, tell him what he seeks is in Mantol-Derith." With that, Caelynn's vision fades, and she is returned to the normal world.
((With that, I think everyone is caught up to the point where everyone is beginning to wake the next morning.))
Trill gives herself a shake, hoping she didn't make a grave mistake, and looks around the common room, noting Oak and Aimon in earnest conversation. Tucking away the Tear, she pulls out the ring and casts identify on it as well, and hopes it doesn't have any offers to make.

Caelynn quite literally tumbles out of bed a few minutes after the others get up. She has to spend a moment extracting herself from the tangled blankets and scrambling to her feet, then skids into the common room in front of Oak. She grabs onto both of his shoulders, both to right herself and stop him before he can leave, looking up to him with wide eyes. "Oak! IthinkIknowwhereyourfamilyis!" The words come out in one breath as a near-unintelligible jumble.
Oak looks slowly down into Caelynn’s eyes. “Huh? You see them too??...”. He looks around the room at the shadows, and at the couple of lumbering shapes, that he thinks he sees, stalking just out of view...
