Hmm, Aimon thinks to himself as he watches the slave trader operate his metallic disc. File that away for now, but there may still be away to free these people. Where there's one possessed giant, there's bound to be another.
He slips on the mask that Jimjar had given him before the giant showed up and gets ready to follow along to the Gholborne Lair, keeping his eyes open for any sign of drow nobility.
He nods and begins leading you through the crowds of merchants and vendors. He takes you to a section dedicated to metalworking. This section of vendors is surrounding a column of stone that surface has several buildings jutting from it that you can tell are smithies. There are about 14 vendors in this area besides the smithies. This area is quite crowded as the others. They sell all sorts of metal things: weapons, armor, some jewlery, artwork...
The giant says, "Tomorrow, meet me at the Steel Gate at the 18th bell. I can lead you to our enclave from there." With that, he waits patiently for the party to do their shopping.
Aimon sticks by Trill to take a look at the metal jewelers. He doesn't have any need for armor, unless there were some enchanted pieces lying around. Those heavy metal armors dwarves like just don't suit him. And he's become attached to Lightbringer. But shiny art and jewelery, well one can always appreciate those.
"What are we looking for Trill? Something flashy? Tasteful?" he asks Trill.
Oak wanders through the market, with the little giant and his companions. He keeps an eye out for a weapon-smiths where he might pick up a few javelins and a couple of handaxes. He’d also like a net and a whip, if he can find those.
He’s also looking for something like an apothecary or healer’s where he might find some ‘salve’, to finish his homemade healer’s kit cheaply (or if he can’t, he’ll just look for a complete one for a little more gold).
Caelynn spends a minute looking at the different armor being crafted, but none of it particularly interests her. Most of the pieces seem cumbersome and noisy, two things she's trying to avoid. She then heads to a couple different vendors and gets as many arrows as she can - they're cheap, she can store them in the chest, and this might be one of the only chances she gets to restock for a while.
I'm not going to rp these vendors because that would take forever. I will on the important ones. Sorry.
Caelynn, arrows aren't very common down here because bows are a weapon of the surface. You can buy the whole arrow stock from a deep gnome vendor. She has 100 arrows. She also has 5 Sleeping Arrows she will sell for 100 gp each.
Trill, you don't find any pearls by themselves, but you do find a few set into jewelry. You can by a golden ring for 150 gp, silver necklace for 110 gp, a sliver broach for 125 gp, or a copper bracelet for 115 gp. They each have a pearl suitable for the Identify spell.
Oak, you can purchase the weapons you desire for the price listed in the Player's Handbook. This area doesn't have any medicines available, and the vendors you ask recommend you find the "Naturalist" portion of the market.
You can also sell any equipment you own for half the price listed in the Player's Handbook.
Other than the arrows, there is no magical equipment sold her. If anyone asks a vendor, they tell you to look to the "Mystic" section of the Market.
Aimon watches Trill handle the copper bracelet. He looks around their surroundings. If she doesn't have enough coin to buy it he may consider an alternative acquisition strategy.
(I assume everyone would have taken some gold from the chest to use, but it’s probably easiest to just keep one group total running. If you let me know what you’re buying I’ll subtract it from the amount on my sheet.)
Caelynn purchases all of the regular arrows, but passes on the sleeping ones. She fills her quiver with as many as she can, then bundles up the rest and puts them in the chest when she gets a chance. She thanks the vendors for their information about acquiring magical items and suggests they visit that section of the market next.
((Oak purchased the equipment listed and deducts 16gp from his own inventory)).
When Oak asks about medicines, and they suggest where to look for them, he looks up around the markets, saying, “There’s a ‘Naturist’ portion of the market??! Well, I guess it does get pretty hot down here!”. He looks a little disappointed when they correct him, “Oh, ‘Naturalist’ section? Oh that makes more sense! Thanks”.
He then turns to the rest of the party and says, “Should we check out the Naturalist section of the market. Maybe they have potions too?... And what was it they said for magic items?... The Masochistic section?... We should try those places next, I guess?”.
He says this, while coiling up his new whip, and it looks all kinds of wrong...
"If I had your energy, friend," Aimon says to Oak. "I think I would have ended up in a jail far earlier than Velkynvelve."
That reminds him of the drow noble, who with any luck will be staying at Gholborne Lair if he's still in town.
"When we get to the inn," Aimon begins then stops. With Trill looking to rescue enslaved friends and all the other grand and noble quests the party is on, admitting that he's running a little revenge scenario through his head seems maybe inappropriate. He's still going to think about it and if the opportunity arises, he's getting that broach, but maybe he'll hold off telling anyone about it.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
If you want to try to steal the broach, make a sleight of hand check. I'll roll some perceptions of you choose so.

As the party finishes shopping in this section, the giant leads you to the Naturalist section. This section is clustered around a large column that conveniently is known as the Mystic section of the market. Here, herbal smells drift through the smooth air, bringing a few scent in the otherwise smoke-filled city. Here, you can buy things like medicines, incense, aphrodisiacs, hallucinogen mushrooms, soaps, tonics, pain killers, poisons, supplements, vitamins, antidotes, and other herbal stuff. If you want something here, ask and I can give you the specifics. Many of the vendors and shoppers alike have that 'hippy' vibe to them.
Oak, you can finish your healer kit for 1 gp as you buy the medicines you needed.
The Mystic section is disappointingly sparse. There is one small stall selling knick-knacks he claims are potent in magic. The other stall is composed of brightly colored fabrics that flash with each other. A wooden sign hanging from it says "Fortunes of Madam Eva" in rough cursive. An old crone dressed in a garish shawl sits behind a small table. A crystal ball and a deck of cards lie sprawled across its surface. She is leaning towards and staring intently into the orb.
Both the stalls flank a small building built into the column. The walls are undecorated and bare. A sign hanging above the simple zhurkwood door reads "Aganazzar's Arcanum."

Oak is very pleased to finish his homemade healers kit!
((The item description in his inventory is so metal!)):
Homemade kit (bandages Torn from the tattered carpets in the castle. Cleaned in the waters on the shore of the Darklake, splints from the wood of giant zhurkwood mushrooms on the Darklake beach, and salves from the duergar slave markets).
((Btw - Were we able to find anything like a potion of healing or two, in the naturalist section?))
Oak would like to browse all three Mystic shops. He’s looking for anything interesting or useful. If you need a perception or investigation check here it is:
Perception check: 20 (-2 to that for investigation).
He’ll approach the Mystic in the fortune shop and enquire about the service...
((ps... If it makes any difference, Oak likes dice. He has a bone dice-set, and proficiency; and has his mother’s toy coloured-cube. His eyes would be drawn to small cubes of any kind. And he seems to put some value in chance and fate)).
"Hello dearies," she croons as she sees you approach. She looks away from her orb and places a cloth over it. "Would you care if Madame Eva read your fortunes? Be warned, you might not hear what you want." She cackles to herself and runs her bony hands together.
She is a short women with gray hair that has streaks of black running through it. Her skin is wrinkled and dry, and she has a long, crooked nose. She talks in a strange accent (think Romanian).
