"I asked for the bird, but you will do." Standing at the gate to the slave pen and passing in bowls of food, he seems to ignore your comments before he quietly mutters to you in Undercommon, "If I could give you a means to escape from here, would you take it?"
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
“As much as I love the accommodations I would like to return to the surface.”
Aimon tries to read The drow’s face.
”What would we need to do for you?”
Aimon wonders if this is a little too good to be true and watches the drow’s features as well as listens carefully to the tone of his voice for any hint of deception.
"I don't need anything from you. If I could give you a means to escape from here, would you take it?" he repeats.
@Aimon
He seems completely honest with you. This sudden offer of help may be an attempt of revenge against Shoor and Ilvara. His expression seems angry and bitter.
He hopes the others won’t judge him too harshly for accepting the offer of help without discussing it with them. But a few days in this dark hole was more than enough.
It depends on if you speak Undercommon. If you can, you hear enough to get the gist of what was spoken.
Jorlan nods in affirmation while handing the bowls of "food" to Trill. He says in Undercommon, "Tonight, I will delay the change of the guard. You'll have a few minutes of opportunity." He pauses for a second before saying, " Jump where the waterfall is. The pool will break your fall. " After giving all the bowls to Trill, he looks around for a second before unlocking the gate, but leaves it closed. As he walks away, he mutters triumphantly in Undercommon, "Revenge is sweet."
Aimon watches Jorlan walk away and then turns to Caelynn. He places a finger to his lips but flashes a big smile and hustles her into the middle of the cell.
He gathers everyone together and tells them what Jorlan said about delaying the guards and the waterfall.
”I think we can trust him. He’s already left the cell door unlocked.”
He looks around at everyone.
”If we move quickly when the time is right we can hit the trapdoor and get our equipment before jumping down the waterfall.”
'What game was this drow, Jorlan, playing?', Alkanos asked himself as he listened to Aimon. Did jealousy and anger drive him towards treason, or was there another game played, one that they weren't aware of. In the end his motives didn't matter. The cell door stood open and he was gone. Trap or not, they had to use the chances given to them and make the most out of it. After all, what ever happened, outside the cell their odds of survival would undoubtedly be greater than within. So he hoped at least.
"We need to take this chance. It doesn't matter if we can trust this drow.", he told the others. "If we do this smart we might get away before they notice. Jorlan wouldn't have told you how to get past the guards by any chance?"
"He mentioned revenge, though I don't think he intended for us to hear him," Caelynn told the group. "I'm not sure who he's getting revenge on or what for, but it seems letting us escape is his means of doing so."
Though she was hesitant to trust the drow, he did appear to have a motive, and he had left the door unlocked for them. And, if they did get caught, Ilvara couldn't do too much worse to them without killing them, which she proved that she didn't want to do earlier that day.
Zack nods. "I don't trust him, but I do trust he favors revenge over our freedom. Most in Drow society think that way. They love revenge above all else and even respect someone on a mission to take it." Zacks face shows a bit of disgust in the thought. "We should not let this slip by, we should go gather our things and head out." Zack steps out of the cell and attemps to call on his internal companion's power to protect him, causing a bit of a faint Deep dark purple to appear around him. Zack takes out the three stones he had been hiding and clutches them in his fist. He brings the fist to his mouth with the opening by his thumb facing his mouth and speaks into it "We have work to do."then he opens his hand to reveal the stones smoking with a faint deep dark purple wisps of shadow. He then looks to the others with a soft look on his face he hadn't displayed in a long time. "There is hope yet, we just have to seize it. By the way, any one of you can throw one of these stones and it will be as if I thew it using my own powers. I can only do three at a time and they only last a minute, but it will give those of us less used to fighting a batter chance and a way to help us if we need to fight. Let me know if you need one, and pick up a few stones if you can." He clutches the stones again and smiles "There Is hope"
(OOC are the current guards still on duty - just want to know if Zack just stepped out while guards were still around or not as that will affect what Aimon does next - from what Jorlan said I thought the delay in guards was going to happen later but if it happened right away please let us know).
(Sorry for the delay. Work was crazy today.) The stalactite that is in front of the cell is the guard "tower". There are small windows carved all around the stalactite. The changing of the guard happens every four hours or so. You estimate that the changing of the guard will happen in less than half an hour. The guards in the tower will leave and then he replaced by other guards in a process that takes about 30 seconds.

I guess I'll retcon my previous post.

“Agreed” says Aimon. “I suggest we gather what supplies we have now and be prepared to move as soon as the guard leaves. We will need to move quickly to get to the the shrine, get that trapdoor you mentioned open and over to the waterfall before the new guard arrives.”
He can feel his senses all sparking. This wasn’t planning a heist but the feelings were similar only this time lives were on the line.
Aimon collects the glass dagger and makeshift thieves tool from the back of the cell and moves to the gate to be ready.
As you wait, anticipated the prospect of escape, you begin to hear droning noises echo faintly through the caverns. The monotonous droning is sometimes interrupted by a distant, inhuman shriek. These noises seem to fade and then grow louder in a cycle. You can feel Velkynvelve tensing, preparing for something. Suddenly, the alarm horn is blown by the guards, but it is drowned out by a shriek that reverberates through air. The droning noises are intense, and you can feel them through the stone. Shouts of alarm fill the air to once again be drowned out by a shriek that leaves your ears ringing.
"Maybe this is the delay spoken of by Joorlan," Eldeth says tensly. Her eyes are focussed on the guard tower as the three guards rush out and disappear out of sight.
"Maybe," Caelynn echoed, not quite believing herself. "Regardless, we shouldn't waste the opportunity." She pushed the heavy door open, looking expectantly towards the others. Whatever chaos was happening out there would hopefully provide ample distraction to the guards. She just prayed they wouldn't get caught in it as well.
