Kurma is stepping out of the boat and slowly approach the lizard folk. In draconic, he says "My friends, please accept this fish, it s the best one I have caught. We were keeping it for later but I am happy to share with you."
"My name is Kurma", bowing his head a little. "Are you from around here?"
"Yes, let us go on brother",says Brunella to Musharib. "In the evening we can look for a source of clean water. And Kurma has said that he has prayers that can help purify the water"
OOC for later: yes I can pray for 10min and purify any food/water around me.. so no need to boil water !!! Next stop I will do that...
"I apologise, this is the last fish I had."... But I can give you a precious object that I have if you want. "This is my glowing rock". Kurma is taking a rock and make it emit light - spell: light
"Lizardmen are fierce warriors and excellent hunters, how come your food bars are empty ? Is something going on ?"
As Kurma lights the rock up, the lizardfolk become nervous, almost at the verge of attacking. "No light thing! Food from warmblood is easy. More food...or more blood!"
"Very well, no stone then"... Kurma identify the little one as the possible boss and draw his attention on him. "Alright, I have maybe one last thing for you...but this is very precious for us. If i give it to you then you'll have to give me something back in exchange. this is how barter works." Kurma reach for his backpack and get his keg of Tej. " This is our precious sweet fire water, make you warm and happy when you drink it"
while reaching in the bag, Kurma is using Guidance on himself in case I need to roll persuasion.
OOC: Kurma is also feeling the tension and gets ready for a possible battle. Tightening his grip on the shield.
Brunella slowly makes universal gestures of being impressed, conveying through mime that the fire water is very precious, her eyes going big and and hands out, as if in awe of the fire water.
Action: Brunella takes Help to help Kurma with persuasion
Gertrude has been slowly advancing the second canoe. She is helping to force a decision. Making herself big, gesturing with her head that she is demanding passageway...
She has stopped for now at 15 ft, watching the decision unfold but it is clear that she is not intimidated.
“Well, I didn’t really think we would make it 24 hours without a fight. If Kurma doesn’t have any success soon I say we eat these overgrown Kobolds for dinner tonight.”
“Hey Gertrude, I hear they taste like chicken!”
Irommek gathers up his shield and takes out his Warhammer.
Brunella, seeing the situation escalate, places a warning hand on Irommek's combat arm. In a low voice she says to him: "Patience brother. This is not like a city fight. We do not know what hides behind the leaves. Don't show your weapon yet."
Seeing Gertrude pulling the canoe closer Felix will speak to her."Easy, now if Burnella is good at forging as she claim she is food is not a problem just give some of my rationed dry meat." Getting a little nervous will ask Kurma to ask them something."Kurma, can you ask them if they know Artus?"

Gertrude grumbles. She accepts some dry meat handed to her by Felix. She turns to the most left (her left) lizard guy, holding the meat up and says: "Artus?"
Ooc: I imagine this to be a side-negotiation, while the smaller lizard and the rest are focussed on the other canoe with Kurma promising them the tej.
The lizardfolk on the left does not understand the word 'Artus'. But from the expression, it is clear that if anyone comes any closer, it will be battle.

The lizardfolk first smell the fish. It was indeed fresh and enough for the evening. But the honey-like odour of that liquid is very attractive. That should be very nutrient. " Good. We take fish and honey-water...Jungle maketh you strong."After the last sentence, which sounds like the closest thing to a 'thank you' a lizardfolk could say, the reptilians humanoid leave.
Musharib is growing quite fond of the tortle companion:"Oh well, that was something. I did not intend to become lizard poop. Well done."
Kurma release his grip on the shield and before the lizard folk is too far, quickly asks in Draconic " You will enjoy this liquid trust me, just a last question, we heard of a man called Artus travelling with lizardmen. Do you know anything about him ?"

"I know no food named Artus."Then they leave, swimming down the river.
In the evening the party finds another spot to dock and make camp at the mouth of River Soshenstar. All seems nice, quiet, and with no monster. Musharib is quite nervous:" Mhmm, I do not like it. "And it is then that it starts raining. A rain of apocalyptic proportion. The river is growing fast. Musharib it is quick to secure his canoe 50 feet inland."Quick, take the other canoe!"
