Tana takes the blunt of his axe and promptly knocks the polar bear down.
”What should we do with it? I don’t want it gathering the rest of this place. I’d be happy to dispatch of it if nobody has any use for it,” Tana says, albeit looking rather sick with the prospect.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Afamrail examines the unconscious polar bear, lifting its lips to see the teeth and proding the massive claws.
”I suggest we search the room it was residing in. A polar bear does not strike me as a pet. It may have been guarding something. Once we have completed our investigation we can drag it back inside and close the door. With good fortune it will awaken in a bad temper and cause problems for whichever giant walks in.”
Afamrail enters the bear room and searches throughout for hidden panels, doors, furniture legs and the like.
Afamrail slips the gems into his pouch. Who knows when those might come in handy. And if they made it out of this alive, they might be enough for everyone to get a decent meal, fix some of the dents that were inevitably going to hit their armor and weapons, and a good nights rest.
He heads back into the main room and chooses one of the doors that no one has checked yet.
"That may be the feast the sentries mentioned. The leader will likely be there, as will most if not all of the other giants from the base. They will be harder to trick and harder to beat in a fight than the two you spoke with earlier. Go in if you wish, but be cautious."
Raine wraps her arms around one of the bear's legs, attempting to drag it back into the room it came from.
“Your caution is well placed, but unless I am sorely mistaken, I do not believe what lies behind this door is the feast. I may be turned around in here. My sense of direction is always surer out of doors, but from where we have walked, I think the feast will be in the center of this stronghold, perhaps through the larger double doors further west.”
But Raine is definitely correct in being cautious. His companions made short work of that bear but what they find next could be much stronger.
Once the polar bear is out of sight and the others are ready, he will open the door for Tana.
"It very well could be me who's turned around. I just assumed, with the talking and the eating. You're probably right; it's probably nothing. Still, be careful."
Dragging the unconscious bear fully into the small side room, she heaves the door shut behind it and returns to where the others stand. Despite Afamrail's assurances that this isn't the main feast, she still can't shake the feeling that something is about to go wrong. Feeling the nerves get to her for the first time since entering the stronghold, her hand drifts to the amulet around her neck. She sends a silent prayer to Selûne that they will be safe.
Inside this room is two large tables with stools strewn around them, with a fire pit in between. Three barrels stand in one corners of the room. Food like cheese and meat cover the tables, and sitting at the tables is one hill giant sitting at the front of the table, with another hill giant sitting next the him. Another giant sits next to him. A cloud giant stands next to the fire pit. A stone giant sits at the head as well. A cave bear is sitting under the table eating whatever scrap falls of. At the table is also seven hill giants, and at the other table is 14 ogres.

Assuming that the time on Raine's detect magic spell hasn't run out, she'll follow Afamrail into the room to see if she senses anything.

Under the mattress is is 29 gems with different values, and there is no magic in the room.

Listens. Carefully.
(I will say you pick to bottom west door, you hear chewing and talking.
Afamrail waves the others over.
”Talking and something that sounds like eating is coming from behind this door.”
He looks up at Tana.
”Would you like to try this again? You could engage them in what limited conversation they are capable of and see what you can discover.”
He looks back at the polar bear.
”But perhaps we should hide the bear first.”

(OOC: do any of the giants notice Tana in the door?)
Afamrail closes the door quietly. He looks over at Raine, a sheepish look on his face.
”Feast.”
He pulls a couple of climbing pitons out of his pack, considering whether to try and wedge the doors shut.
”Suggestions? Hill giants we might be able to trick again. A cloud giant? That is not likely.”
