Lantern in hand, Darius entered the cave at a cautious pace, then examined the two stairways. (( OOC: Do these stairs lead up or down? ))

With nothing more than a "we can check the other path later," he immediately headed to the stairs in front of them.

(Up they are spall flights, you can see the top)

 The main passage from the cave mouth climbs steeply upward, the stream plunges and splashing down its west side. In the shadows of the ceiling, you can just make out a dim shape of a rickety bridge of wood and rope crossing over passage ahead of you. Another passage intersects this one, twenty feet above the floor.

Darius reached the top of the stairs, then frowned. "I'm guessing we should go up that way; but I'd keep an eye out for those bridges overhead if I were y'all."

With that he started leading the troupe up the steep main passage.

The passage is suddenly filled with a might roar, as a huge surge of running water pours down from above. 

"You know, I probably should have been paying better attention for traps. I'll uh... I'll just take the lead next time." Alton says, his usual mirth absent. "Book it!" He tries to make his way forward, maybe to find a way to shut off the water before he (and everyone else) are swept away!

The water is a raging rapid, there in no way to stop it.

"that side passage - try and reach that" Dale calls as he heads back down (not exactly sure how far up the main passage we got)

You get up the stair in time, to which you are greeted by 3 angry wolves tied to an iron rod driven into a stalagmite. Roll initiative,

Symon does not know how to swim very well, he’s a dog-paddle sort of fellow so, he is running for the side passage right behind Dale.

"Alton!" yelled out Darius, trying to get his companion's attention even as he dashed after Dale.
