Lost Lab of Kwalish

Hondo picks up one of the sun blades. “Why do we need these? Are they the key to something or just really good weapons?”

Huarache picks up a Sun Blade, holding it between himself and Hondo, and activates it. The radiant blade springs into existence between them, and Huarache turns it to the side so that both of them are facing the "edge" of the blade.  "Because it's really cool." He pauses. "But yes, they are particularly good weapons."

Afterwards, Huarache will start perusing Kwalish's journal.

As people begin investigating the garage and reading journals, the sheet covering the priestess begins to rise.  A small vermillion stains spreads as it drips down the cloth, .  The circuit, now broken, the undead priestess easily casts off the shackles about her wrists, casting them aside doffing the blanket in a flourish, grabbing Omiy and attempting to bite her (Do kenku have teeth?  Peck her, maybe?)

Hondo sees the priestess slash Omiy and he yells, “Omiy!” He turns to the kenku and says, “We free you, and this is how you repay us?!”  He cast Fire Bolt at the Kenku.

Sigurd sees Omiy being attacked and slashes twice at the kenku.

And yells "Huarache! Why don't  show us how cool that sword is!"

Hondo and Sigurd attempt to overpower the undead Kenku priest, but underestimate the power of the reanimated bird-person.  Omiy struggles and succeeds at resisting the priest's attempt to bite her. 

(OOC: I'm expecting posts from everybody.  you don't have to attack it, but I want everyone to have the chance.)

Feels a sharp pain across her chest, Omiy turns around, grabs the zombie’s rotting arm, wrestling and shoving the kenku back. “God, why do things always come back and bite me in the ass...” She complains to herself.

It’s a DC 16 grapple check.

OOC: can I grapple her by clenching her beak?

Huarache will try to attack the undead priest with the blade he's holding. 25 to hit, 12 radiant. I don't think Huarache's attuned, so he doesn't get the magic bonus, but he would know the command word, having made it.

Wait, it's undead. Extra 6 radiant.

And if that doesn't work, Extra Attack: 11 to hit; 13 radiant damage.

(I'm just going to say you are attuned, you had time to make it and take a long rest, i feel you attuned it as well, otherwise it just doesn't work.  Further, in ruling they you've seen successfully made three sun blades. I think you ask decided eyes getting one.  If you want to say your stunned and use them now, in fine with that too.)

As Huarache activates the device, the resident blade that extends casts daylight I'm the dim garage, causing the priest to recoil in pain. Huarach eagerly capitalizes on the boon, slashing a cauterizing scar across jellied flesh of the undead Kenku, before she feints, narrowly avoiding a second blow.

Omiy seizes the opportunity to seize the bird by the beak, but the slimy creature wriggles free of her grasp.

If Huarache is attuned, then that's an extra 2 radiant damage for that first attack.

OOC: Yay, max damage!

Leann strikes at the undead...

Attack: 13 Damage: 11 Smite: 19 if it hits.

Welp, good thing Omiy has extra attack! She’s going to grab the kenku’s beak again.

Omiy holds the priest by the beak as she struggles to get free.

Leann's first attack hits, (is that a magic weapon? Radiant damage counts regardless) but the kenku manages to dodge the second.

"You see, Ctenmiir," says Shutorn to the dwarvish vampire, "this is why we don't let you out of your box."  Seeing the priest attacking Omly, he gets close enough to sprinkle some metalic powder on Omly, casting protection from evil and good, and then backs away to watch the show.

Omiy feels very protected.
