The woman looks surprised by the question. Mouth agape, she lingers, then mouths silent words for a moment before she finds her voice "I stole some jewels a few months back. They chased me and I ran and hid. Up into the mountains. I followed some signs that led me here. They brought me to him. I didn't want to stay. They make us work the fires all hours. Till some of us can't work anymore. I thought they were going to kill me when I got hurt." She looks down at her arm. "I... I ran to the dock where I first arrived, but they were close behind me. I didn't know what they would do. So I. I jumped." She says as she begins to sob. "Somehow, I wound up here."
Huarache looks over the splint as he says to the drow, "How'd you end up here?"
How effective does the splint appear to have been at setting her leg?
%\ I think I switched an arm and a leg. Lol.
First Aid appears to have been self-administered. The scraps of cloth holding splints and slings look to be made of material cut from the clothes they currently wear. If you would like you can make a medicine check. Anyone can see, though, they neither is cut for a long trek.
The drow just stares for a while. "I'm not much use feeding the engines at the moment, but I guess if they start running out of bodies, they might get desperate enough to haul me out of bed and put me back to work."
Thinking for a moment, he inquires, "I haven't seen any guards since yesterday. Now you ask show up on the outside of the cage. Did you guys take over the operation?"
"That looks infected. Bite down on this leather. It'll hurt, but it'll save you a lot of trouble later," says Huarache as he twists her leg into place, Prestidigitating the cloth clean and using it to cast Cure Wounds, healing for 11.

<<All possible through the bars, but did you intend to open the cage first? You could try opening the lock with DC15 a dex check and theive's tools or by some other means, or you could just try to set the leg through the bars.>>

The healing magic is shockingly potent, setting the broken bone with an audible visceral crunch, not unlike the snap of a celery stalk. The bandages appear clean now as well.
The actual infection, though will need lesser restoration or better to resolve magically. Nonmagical options are also possible. It won't slow the drow today, but over time it could still be fatal, or it might go away on its own. LR or herbalist kit would ensure it.
Quick reminder: you have Kwalish's second journal that you freed a bone devil for. I've been waiting for someone to tell me they would flip through it at some point. Really reading it would probably take a short rest, but at a glance if anyone looks they'll see the journal provides plentiful evidence of Kwalish’s fascination with extradimensional spaces, and talks about his hope of one day establishing a secure sanctum “beyond the bounds of the world.” It also contains plans for a variety of inventions including what appears to be a vehicle with a large screw at the front, wider than the rest of the vehicle; the fuselage also sports fins protruding at odd angles. most of the other pages with diagrams describe complex machines that do not immediately impress upon the viewer any specific function. The figures are labeled with with progressively longer titles, with a pattern that repeats the early characters and extends them. These are recognizable instantly to readers of gnomish as sequential numbers suggesting components at increasing detail or multiple iterations of a single item. ie/ '# 234 D MK IV'
(Leann would not be looking through the journal, so she is expecting others to do that.)
Not seeing anything too surprising, Leann looks around for keys. If she does not find any, then she would turn to the others. "Can someone pick the locks to those cells?" She asks. "I would like to get these up and moving, and cannot use my lay-on-hands to heal them from out here."
to the prisoners... "No we did not take over this place, but are in the process of shutting it down."
And yes, Huarache is freeing the prisoners. Nobody deserves to live in their own filth. Thieves' Tools check 24. Huarache forgot about the journal during his anger at the devil, but he will read it during his next rest.

"Trying to get a read on us, are we? Listen, Mrw. None of us made our way to this hell-hole acting like devas, but all this lot, here" the drow gestures to the those I'm neighboring cells, "'em's all slaves like me. Chz we would let that freak cut off our faces. Only reasons anyone's in a cell instead of an infirmary is, injured or not, ain't one of us who wouldn't high tail it the first chance we got."
(You may wish to make an insight check)
As the drow talks, the teifling has felt the healing effects of Huarache's magic, and moves about to test her strength and mobility. Though malnourished (as are all the others here) she heads right for the entrance, asking no permission nor looking back to see the fate of her fellow inmates.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Insight: 5. As the tiefling leaves, Huarache calls to her, "It is my medical recommendation that you don't leave. You're in no shape to fight any monk that tries to stop you from leaving, and we'll make sure that you can get out of here safely."
She turns to look at Huarache as she slows her pace, but lines just a moment before rushing for the door and disappearing into the sunlit world beyond these metal walls.

"I can, yeah. I don't know what that tiefling thinks she's doing, but she's not going to fare well alone. I can't stop her, though. You," he says to the drow, "give me your arm. I can help with that as well. And you," he says to the dwarf, "any medical issues with you I should be aware of?"
The drow's arm snaps back into place as he cringes. An instant later, he exhales a sigh if relief. He tests the arm and finds he doesn't need the sling, so he slides his arm out of it.
"Mighty decent of you to help us out." He reaches out a hand offering to shake.
The dwarf doesn't respond, but seems to wish to speak, but each time he tries, a fit of coughing ensues.

The green stain on the cloth gives the impression the wound might be infected.

Which prisoners? There were 5.
