As your boat unfolds, you tensely wait and watch, shifting your gaze between the jungle and the water, anxiously awaiting your floating salvation. By the time you all manage to board, (If someone doesn't want to board, give a shout) the giants have made their way through the jungle just as you shove off. As you begin to row out to sea, you see a winter wolf burst through the trees.
Moments later another follows. They each sniff at the ground for a moment, following your scent to the water, before looking up and seeing your ship, at which point the begin to bark thunderously. Soon after, two male giants emerge from the trees looking at what the wolves are barking at, they see your ship and begin to call out in Giant(ish), (does anybody speak Giant?) waving their arms above their heads trying to get your attention, following the boat.
A female giant follows the two males, but just as she emerges ... the last tri-flower frond attacks her! apparently it wasn't quite dead, having bloomed anew
con 11, dex 2
seeing her fall unconscious from the poison, the two males rush to her aid as the wolves continue to bay at the departing vessel.
So, do you set sail or row? - you'll go twice as fast by sail but you're more likely to get lost unless someone is proficient in water vehicle use. Otherwise, by oar, you travel the same speed as by land . . . but at least there's fresh fish.
While helping prepare oars, Huarache observes, "They're not immediately attacking us. Anyone know Giant or translation magic? I'm not saying to stop the boat, but I am saying that they aren't immediately hostile, it seems."
"I don't know that we want to get mixed up in whatever they are doing anyway." Leann observes. She grabs an ore and starts to row. If others wish her to not do so she would stop, but she is rowing until told otherwise.
As you begin to row away from shore, Vernell can understand the giants conversation. He misses the first things uttered as they stumble from the trees, but hears the second giant rebuff the first to emerge and shout, pointing at the boat.
"How do you know he's on the boat? Where would he be going?" The second giant scolds.
"Running away again, of course!" Retorts the first giant. "There are others on the boat. We'll ask them."
Loudly, he shouts to the boat, "Ahaiii! Is the ring-bearer on your boat? The man with blue-shining bookmark?"
Looking in the water, Huarache observes not one but two icthyosaurs, circling each other not far below the surface of the clear water. They seem to be flailing frantically before they descend rapidly to depths unseen.
As half if your party begins to feel the effects of various buff spells, your rowing does indeed start to increase the speed of your vessel . . . On the port side, turning your ship in a semicircle back toward shore before you figure out your seating arrangement and start a course due south by southeast (if your hugging the coast like a viking longboat, if you wish to cut straight across instead, let me know.)
This turn-about gives the wolves, incensed by the waylaying if the female giant and the shouting and pointing by the giants, an opportunity to doggy paddle out towards your ship.
Place yourselves if you'd like.
(OOC: I think the maps are getting better, but I can handle criticism)

Still waiting on anyone to tell me sail, row , other (including any recent retcon)
Anyone can also make a perception check, including where you're looking, for more details. Example: horizon (N,S,W), shore, 'water around the ship'.

Vernell casts tongues to try to understand the giants

Huarache will look around the waters they'd be rowing into for any dangerous rocks: Wisdom (Perception) 15
He will also grab an oar and start rowing.

Dorian will use his Adjust Density ability to increase his density, which will give him advantage on STR checks and saves, and begins to row as well.

Shayone | Hobgoblin | Sorcerer | Netherdeep
Huarache will cast Enhance Ability to give himself Bull's Strength (ADV STR checks; carrying capacity doubles) while he rows.

Vernell calls back. “No one like that here!”
Then he looks around at the others to make sure there really isn’t someone like that.

They approach on your starboard, running through the waves in the shallows to pull ahead if the boat before swimming toward the bow from the South.
As they near the ship, though only swimming, they are strong enough to bite and pull at the oars, harrying the ship and causing it to roll wildly.
"Mind having them call off the puppies?" Leann asks with a glance to the one speaking with the giants. "Hate to have to kill them..."
Place yourselves in the boat, if you please.

same with leann.

Vernell is at A1, and shouts “Call off your dogs, or they’re going to be food for the lizards!”
Vernell casts silent image to call up an image of an icthyasaurus swimming up and after the wolves
