Huarache carefully watches them with the guns like the staff at a firing range, making sure that they don't point it in stupid directions at any point. If they do ever point it near another person, he will shove their arm down on the table.
"The Cage aint without its laws, but the hardheads and lathernecks aint too keen on poking a hornets nest." the proprietor comments.
Gearbox adds: "The tavern's most popular tanar'ri delicacy, the Styx Snack, usually fluctuates in availability but always seems to be in plentiful supply the week after a paladin fails to "cleanse the foul den of fiendishness that is referred to as the Styx Oarsman".
"While you think on that, take these, at your patron's request" the bladeling adds, putting a small box on the counter with the words "Coloara Trading Coster" branded into the wood. "Arquebus shot, 'specially crafted with a lightning arrow effect."
If you try the front dooe you'll be met by a teifling named Jarkman Vries. In addition to Jarkman's presence at the door, the tavern has formidable security in the form of the excrementally-spoken Gennick the Mesmer, the so called "Colourful Cambion" and his loyal enforcer, a hulking yugoloth deserter named Xaedo .
"Have you used them before?" Omiy pokes Hondo to hand him the revolver, and excitedly encourages him, "show me."
Hondo carefully takes the revolver and first checks to make sure its not loaded. “Well, this model looks familiar to something the palace armorer was working on...but his had a different loading system.” He turns to Omiy, “You put your bullets in, aim at your target, pull back in the hammer and fire.” He hands it back to Omiy. “Keep it hidden.”
Huarache surreptiously casts Detect Magic to see what sort of magic is within the room, then while concentrating on that, walks up to Omiy. "At risk of insulting myself, a blunderbuss or pepperbox is good if you aren't particularly concerned with precision. If you want to train for precision with a single-handed weapon, go for a pistol or a revolver."
The box the bladeling put on the counter casts a glow indicative of transmutation magic. The majority of items in the shop are mundane except a faint glow on a switchblade and a kusarigama.
Huarache will examine the kusarigama closer to try and figure out which kind of magic it exudes. He also wants to get a closer look at those six-shooters and the arquebus.
"Well, that doesn't look too hard." Omiy takes the revolver and imitates his shooting motions, she places the revolver back in the chest. "We’ll take them all, than you.” Omiy says to the Bladeling. She'll keep the breechloader on her side and offer the two revolvers to Hondo and Haurache, or anyone else who wants them.
“That’s not an insult,” Omiy put her hand on the shoulder of worrying Huarache and winks, “it takes strength to put faith in one’s weapon, in its power rather than their own. Alright, shall we? We're going to the Styx Oarsman now, right?"
Just making sure I'm understanding this correctly: are they giving us this, or are they offering us the chance to buy this? If the latter, Huarache wants to know the prices of the kusarigama, the six-shooters, and the arquebus.
Ooc: You can have them, they're not very good weapons. Also, he doenst hsve sn arquebus, jusr rhe shot for one. This is mostly here because Omiy wanted one.
The real point was to give you something to bribe your way past the doorman.
Back in the Lower Ward, the two-storey structure of the Styx Oarsman squats on the edge of Heward's Forks, a small square connecting the bend in Brandy Lane to the curving thoroughfare of Ironmonger Street. The dung covered statue that is set in the square gives the small court it's name and provides the local avians with a favourite perch and latrine. The squawking of the executioner's ravens that nest here particularly annoys the current doorman, a tiefling by the name Jarkman Vries, a surly cutter who is constantly chewing on one of his trademark Arborean cigars.
"Vries is known to enforce a strict "Lower Planars Only" policy unless garnished by a decent bribe" Gearox offers. " He is renowned for his irritability, the vituperous curses he levels at proxies and priests and his unique choice of weaponry. Those attempting to barge inside have been known to receive a point blank volley of red steel shot from the tiefling's magical arquebus (a fine steel snaplock which bears the stamp of the "Royal Cormyr Arsenal" and the symbol of Gond Wondermaker pressed into its engraved silver butt-guard)."
"Hello tough guy, so I've heard a lot about you," Omiy approaches the doorman, placing the weight on one leg crookedly, gesturing towards the inside of the building, "my friends and I are looking to do some business, think you could let us in?"
Under her cloak she not so stealthily holds out her hand, with the box containing the lightning shot, "I believe you could find this enchantment most useful." She gives him this big wink and a quick finger-gun. "Love your horns, by the way. And your guns. And I don't just mean the arquebus."

Hondo moves up besides Omiy. “Don you really think it’s a good idea to flirt with the doorman? I mean you look good, not saying you are not ugly because you aren’t but you are not overly beautiful...” He seems nervous and tripping over his words. “I’ll...l’ll be over here.” He walks away.
“You’re saying I’m not beautiful?” Hands on her hips, Omiy glared at Hondo with a pout. She’s gonna punch him later.
Hondo faces turns red. “Did I say that? I might have said that. I just know that sometimes when you call girls beautiful they get upset because they think that you are trying to shoot their shot. Which I’m defined not. I like you. I like you all. But as friends. Please don’t punch me.” Omiy can tell Hondo is afraid.
"Huh," Omiy narrows her eyes sizing Hondo up, her about-to-be-separated echo returning to her body, "Well you are cute too." She says, before she turns her attention back to the doorman, nodding toward the little box, "So what do you think?"
Vries snatched the box, offered freely, from Omiy's hand and crscks the lid open an och, holding it close to his face. When he steals a glimpse of the gift within he he snaps the lid shut tight and slips rhe box discreetly inside his coat.
He looks over the group, discerningly. After a moment if some 'hmm's and 'haw's, he holds open the door and announces loudly to those within, looks like its going ro be a busy night in the kitchen. With a cruel smile, he twists his neck gesturing toward the door as he stands aside tonlet the Clueless enter.
The bar is bustling with an array of fiends and a few humanoids, some even look upstanding, a strange enough sight in the lower ward, but in a friend's den, looking starkly out of place. Just a facet of the cosmopolitan nature of the City of Doors. Barbed devils play cards at a table, while a beautiful human eoman serves rhem gobkets of wine. Three squawking vrocks are making a ruckus at the bar.
Ooc: So at this point, I think all you guys want to do is find the portal right? Tallk to 'Rule of Three' for such info. Also, might need to consult the paper wrapped around the rod if the mercurial.
The bartender (a marilith) is marked M, Rule of Three, a Githzerai scholar, is sitting ina private booth in the far corner.
Omiy gave Hondo a proud look of “see that worked”, and steps into the bar. A bit of a headache from the noise and the heavy smell of smoke, she will consult the paper that Zadara gave them first.
Hondo puts his hands in the air and says, “Alright. You win. You are a flirt master.” He lightly punches her in the shoulder. “Come on, Omiy, let’s go.”
