Uldran, the Captain gratefully receives your healing. Rune Shaper Salvas nods in approval,
"We have guest cabins prepared below near my own. I will take you to them."
to you Hitticus he replies, "Yes I am sure that can be aranged."
"Tell Vorus to give them what ever they need within reason." orders the Captain.
"Very good." Salvas gives a small bow. He listens to the exchange between you Mercwri and Uldran and again gives a small bow.
"We can pick up supplies down below then when you are all suitably rested I will call upon you to meet in my cabin to discuss such matters."
With that the Rune Shaper ushers you all below. You descend the steep wooden steps into a well lit area cluttered by tables and supplies. A stern looking dwarf stands there with his hands on his hips.
"The Captain says to equip these fine gentlemen with what ever they require." Salvas says with a nod to each of you...
"Did she now." grumbles Vorus as he gives you all a hard look.
OOC: Give me your wish list and I will see what is available.
Freak is looking wide-eyed at everything, twitching every time someone passes by him, but happy that so much time has passed and the masked men have not appeared.
Invited below deck, Freak will follow the others and watch them get equipped, before going to weigh the different pieces of armour. The heaviest ones look uncomfortable to wear, so he settles on one of the medium ones (Half Plate?) and chooses the meanest looking weapon (Greataxe?). He picks 5 javelins to throw at things he can't reach, some clothes to go under his armour (Traveler's Clothes), and other items he thinks might come useful.
Wish list:
Greataxe
Half Plate
5 Javelins
1 Handaxe
Rope
Traveler's Clothes
Backpack
Rations
Bedroll
Waterskin
Leather or iron rings to tidy up his hair and beard
Randrak thinks for a moment, "Have you got any bagh nakh? I always wanted to try them but they were illegal in Baldenvelt. If not a shortsword would be perfect.
I doubt you have any magic weapons."

“The secret we should never let the gamemasters know is that they don't need any rules.” ― Gary Gygax
Vorus raises his eyebrows at the long list you give him Freak but looking you up and down he nods at last with a grunt. With a bustle of movement he finds almost everything you have asked for. Crossing the room and unlocking the armoury door to bring out the weapons and armour.
"They're a bit bruised and battered...pre-loved you might say, but they will serve you well." he looks you up and down again, "look like you had a worse day than most my lad. No half plate I'm afraid we tend toward a standard hideon board for flexibility."
Same goes for you my friend he says to you Hitticus as he hands over a set of med hide armour and sturdy looking warhammer.
At your request Randrak the quartermaster frowns for a long moment looking you up and down. Then with a sudden ferocity that makes you all stand back he explodes into peels of laughter. "Tiger claws and a magical item? Where did you find this one?" he asks Salvas.
"Well I suppose she did say anything." the Rune Shaper observed, trying not to smile.
"...within reason Salvas. I suppose I better dig out the magical bagh nakh belonging to the pirate king of Shannarath, and while I'm at it the golden cod piece of the dragon queens nephew."
"That's quite enough Vorus, these are our guests."
"Ha! So they are, so they are and my apologies. I tell you what my lad for the sheer balls of it, I've got something for you." He rummages around in the armoury for a few minutes and comes out with a short sword and scabbard. The scabbard is plain leather and unremarkable but when he draws the short sword within it's surface is intertwined with a web of silver veins that sparkle in the lamplight.
"She's been silvered by the smiths of Vormanoth, well used but sharp as the day she was forged. Not magical but effective against certain beasts of the dark you may come across."
He peers around now at the rest of you, "Well then, anything else?"
OOC: The bagh nakh reference is noted...we'll see what turns up down the road.
Vorus pauses to consider your question Randrak. "There's a number of beasts out there that can only be harmed by magical or silvered weapons." he muses, "they say the undead cant abide the stuff."
You do recall from your own knowledge of such things that silver is known to be effective against Lycanthropes in particular.
Uldran, you receive a fresh healers kit to help patch up your companion.
"You may roam this deck and the deck above freely." Salvas explains once the equipment has been handed out. He points to the stairs directly beneath the ones you descended, "Those lead to the crew decks, you should have no reason to go down there." then pointing to another smaller staircase leading upward at the stern of the ship, "That leads to the captains quarters, it is locked when she is on duty and it is ill advised to interrupt her rest when she is not. If you will follow me..."
Salvas leads you through a set of double doors and across the main cargo hold. The area is filled with all manner of goods and looking up you can see the ever dark stonesky above through the metal grills in the roof. At the far end of the room you pass through another door into a narrow corridor.
"The first two rooms have two beds a piece, the second two have only one. The door at the end belongs to me. I will leave you to organise yourselves and take your rest. A cabin gnome will be along shortly with food and drink for all. Once you are all rested we will talk further."
And with that the Rune Shaper waves a hand and his door opens allowing him to step inside. "Rest well!" he says before closing the door behind him.

Does Torvin know anything about the destination the Captain said we were going to - Duragath? history: 14
If not he will ask Salvas about it.
He will also ask: "Does the ship have a doctor? I would be willing to help and do what I can to try and repay the Captains kindness for allowing us aboard."
Torvin also says: "I dont care where I bunk ......but be warned......I snore."
Mercwri will ask if any int the party has climbing gear, "Rope, grapple, that sort of stuff. We might be findin' 'rselves needin' to go up 'n' doown rather steep places. Ah, yes. Any portable healin' 'd be nice, too."

Panic is a mechanism that strengthens the gene pool.
OOC: Being only early afternoon we will call this a short rest. You may reset any skills linked to a short rest and use your hit die connected to your class to heal up.
Mercwri the quartermaster gives a wry chuckle at your request, "Sure I think we have some gear back here. We dont have much use for it out on the fire." He hands you a small sack of gear.
Uldran and Mercwri you double up to allow for your healing. (Note that without the healer's feat the kit is only good for stabilising unconscious PCs without the need for a medicine check, however I will allow an extra 1d4 on top of your hit die in this instance).
Freak there are no facilities for a bath but you do get a quiet little room to yourself in which to organise all of your new gear. There is a bowl of water and a rough spun cloth on the bedstand so you can wash up a little.
Randrak you will be treated to the snoring Torvin for the duration of the voyage as you two bunk up. Torvin we will say that you managed to slip in your question before the aged Rune Shaper made his departure and received the following answer:
"We have a cutter on board, you just met him. Vorus can handle most minor injuries, albeit with a heavy hand. He is not medically trained however and any aid you can offer would be gratefully received I am certain."
Regarding your knowledge of Duragath, most dwarves are aware of the fortress as the eastern most port of Guldroth (A vast island near the heart of the burning ocean). While all dwarves knowledge Baldenvelt as they capital and place of origin the Guldroth Dwarves hold themselves apart and are governed by a number of free cities and settlement which form a loose confederation. It is a haven for mercenary companies and the homeland for the Stoneship fleet. The gnomish uprising started in Guldroth and while arcane magic is still illegal there the law is not always enforced and moves are being made to change the law. The temples do not have such a firm grip on society on the Isle.
As for Duragath itself it is the main trade point with Baldenvelt and the High Rock Region. The fort as with many of the great structures of Guldroth is not dwarvern built. It was taken from the Duergar during the Ironfist campaign almost nine hundred years ago. It also houses the Baldenvelt embassy making it the logical place to bring the news of the goblin invasion.
Hitticus that leaves you alone in the last room. (was it something you said? Or perhaps that Eldrich Blast you fired off...)
OOC: Is there anything else you wish to discuss or ruminate while you enjoy your well earned rest?
Freak retires to his room to wash and think about his new situation. He checks the door every now and then to make sure it isn't locked, smiling at his newly found freedom. He puts the new clothes on. He tries the bed. He tries the hide, then stuffs it in his backpack. Finally, he lays in bed restless.
Several hours pass by as you take your rest, before a knock sounds from without. Salvas stands in the corridor in his red robes and with a broad smile on his face.
"I have taken the liberty of ordering your meals to my cabin, would you all join me as honoured guests? It is a rare thing to have stonebound dwarves aboard the Firehook and I would treasure your conversation, as well as perhaps answering any questions you might have?"
It is something of a squeeze to get you all seated in the Rune Shapers cabin but once seated the room is cozy and more importantly the food is good.
"Ale anyone?" Salvas asks as he taps a small keg of thick black Baldenvelt Stout.
Hitticus will give a moment when things are calmed down to approach Freak. "Hail friend. It looks like we're being left on our own, and I believe it best if we stick together." He flips a dagger out of his belt and hands it handle side to Freak. "Dark is the night when the day has lost its light. Time to brighten things a bit... How long were you in that cage?"
"Together with friend?" Seeing Hitticus pull out a dagger, Freak jumps back and fumbles for a weapon, until he sees his new friend holding it the wrong way. "I'm sorry! Thank you!"
Uldran, the Captain gratefully receives your healing. Rune Shaper Salvas nods in approval,
