“I wouldn’t say we are out of ideas. We could activate the trap from a save distance, and see if we can do anything to make it stop working while it does its thing or when it resets. Problem with that is, we don’t know if it resets automatically or how long that takes.”
Alanis hesitantly pulls out a vial and fiddles with it nervously.
”But, uh…. Flying would be on the table. For one of us. Slowly.”
(Ooc: In that case Alanis will try to hold up the furthest gate that is supposedly coming down to trap Randrak with her Stonky ‘s ring, so he can run through to the other side)
Randrak as soon as you run into the corridor the walls start to move inward. Alanis acts quickly to keep the bars from slamming down at the far end of the passage, though the bars at the near end do descend cutting you off from the rest of the group. You trip half way and scramble to your feet trying desperately to make it to the other side. You are forced to make a reckless dive to save being crushed by the trap and land heavily at the foot of the steps. (Take 1d6 bludgeoning damage). In the darkness you can just make out a large metal lever set into the wall just above your head.
The rest of you watch Randrak make his mad dash as the walls close in either side. You think you see him leap through the gates at the far end but can not be sure as your view is cut off by the solid stone sliding into place either side.
“Blasted idiot!” Mercwri mumbles in astonishment. “But, I suppose one shouldn’t be surprised, after all he did get into a fisticuffs wid the Cap’n of that stoneship, crazy as a loon, that one.” He shakes his head.
”So, what’s down t’other end?” Mercwri pitched his voice so as to not carry much further than the other end of the corridor.

Panic is a mechanism that strengthens the gene pool.
Alanis takes a deep breath to calm her pounding heart, lowering her still outstretched arm.
She had not proposed holding up the gate with her ring because she had honestly not known it would even work, and the middle of two fast approaching walls is not her prefered spot to find that out.
”I wonder if he can even hear us, with all the stone in the way.”
Randrak you hear muffled voices through the stone but can make out no words. (They are probably praising you for your bravery and athletic ability!) You sit at the bottom of a winding stairway that leads upward. You see the closed corridor before you and the lever sunk into the nearby wall.
As the lever slams home there is a loud grinding sound and then the walls of the corridor retreat backward. The way is now clear for the others to follow.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
“How about you slow down a bit? Please?”
Alanis sighs as she approaches, looking about to see if she can spot anymore traps, but letting their well established trap seeker Mercwri take the lead.
Alanis given that Randrak has already sprung a step trap for you all, (lowered the DC from 15 to 10) it is easy enough to spot several more and avoid them as you ascend the stairway. Eventually you come to the top of a small square landing. Here you see a similar lever on the right hand wall as you saw at the bottom of the stairs, supposedly to disarm the stair traps on the way out.
On the left hand wall is a rickety wooden door.
On the wall before you is a ladder leading up to a trap door in the ceiling.

Randrak watches as Mercwri studies the corridor, "So, what do you think? Is there any way of disarming the traps in the corridor?"

OOC: In the interests of momentum let us say that Mercrwi has shared his astute observations with the group :)
Haddie taps her foot as she studies the problem. "We unless one of you can fly I am out of ideas?"

After hearing Mercrwi's description of the situation, Randrak thinks for a moment before he looks down the passageway.
"Or we do this old fashioned way. He then begins running down the passageway prepared to try and avoid any traps along the way.

Randrak climbs to his feet, hearing the sound of voices behind him. Then without hesitation, Randrak pulls the lever in the nearby wall.

Randrak you take 5 damage as a spike shoots from the nearby wall and stabs into your left leg.
Down below Haddie raises an eyebrow and shakes her head. "Well I suppose he is efficient when it comes to finding the traps for us."

Randrak lets out a cry of pain as the spike stabs into his left leg. He then curses under his breath.
"I'll be alright, I'll be alright," he calls down to the others. "It's only a scratch."
