Randrak groans at the thought of swimming. He has never been particularly fond of swimming. The thought of getting his hair and beard wet does not appeal. Nevermind, his chain mail, backpack and weapons. The weight of which are likely to make him sink in the water.

“The secret we should never let the gamemasters know is that they don't need any rules.” ― Gary Gygax
Alanis, being less than athletic, isn’t exactly looking forward for a swim either.
“Do you think it would help if the first one through would take rope with them, so the following could use it to pull themselves along? I know that I am terrible at swimming.“
She looks pensively for a moment before offering:
“There is still some room in my bag, if you want to store some of your heavier items for the trip.“
Uldran puts his hand on Alanis' shoulder "Do not fear the water, The Beloved Mother is watching over you."resistance
((If you choose not to resist the spell)) Alanis would feel a sureness and safety like a mother watching over a child. A slight warmth and comfort when Uldran speaks the words.
"Best you don't go last so that I can watch over you as well" He smiles and urges her to start swimming.
Alanis smiles at Uldran with genuine gratitude and grabs another little pill, hoping that the kind dwarf won’t have to save her from drowning due to her inaptitude.
Hitticus you take the plunge and start to swim through the cold dark waters. The rest of you follow and the swim is mercifully short.
You surface in a large cavern illuminated by what appears to be a strange glowing creature which hovers in the air near the waters edge. Sparks of blue energy flicker between its snaking tentacles. As you watch, the glow of the creature shifts from blue to green and it begins to float closer to you all.
To the north you see the caverns only other exit.
OOC: Yes Mercwri it was a submerged tunnel :) Merry Christmas guys!
Hitticus raises his arcane focus but doesn't attack. "I would speak if you can creature, my friends aren't as forgiving and I" His focus glows with eldritch energy as he speaks.

"What in the bonnie blue blazes it that?" Mercwri sounds a wee bit astonished. "Don't like the looks of that sparkly whatever it's doing either." He loads his sling, just in case.

Panic is a mechanism that strengthens the gene pool.
"It didn't immediately attack me upon leaving the pool, but be ready." Hitticus says as he tries to put Randrak a little bit more between the creature and himself.
At your words the creature makes a sound like a wet fart and floats forward Hitticus, but as several of you ready weapons it halts the colour of its antennae shifting from green to red and then back again. It stays at a wary distance studying you all. You can make out beady little eyes at the end of two of its upper antennae as they peer down at you.
Suddenly a flood of images enter your minds. You see visions of the mines and dwarves working them. You see more creatures just like this one floating amidst them and above them. Then the image shifts and you see Dwarves running in terror as Troglodytes invade the tunnels. Images of Dwarves being slain and even several of the floating creatures flash through your minds and then finally the vision settles on a wide dark cave where a number of the Troglodytes are gathered around what appears to be a heaving mass of flesh. You watch in horror as you see the beasts feeding dwarves and glowing creatures alike into the mass.
"Help us." the words echo in your minds as the vision ends.
OOC: Its a nature check DC 15 for the glowing creature and an Arcana check DC 15 for what you saw in the vision.
Alanis and Hitticus you have no idea what the floating creature is, but as you Hitticus see the vision it is sharing you hear a familiar voice at the back of your mind concerning the Troglodytes.
Oh my, those clever little monsters have a pet.
The Knowledge of this aberration is shared with you : Of all the terrors created by foul sorcery, gibbering mouthers are among the most wicked and depraved. This creature is the composite eyes, mouths, and liquefied matter of its former victims. Driven to insanity by the destruction of their bodies and absorption into the mouther, those victims gibber incoherent madness, forced to consume everything in reach.
Don't let yourself get eaten dear, I really can't entertain a long term relationship with a lump of liquified flesh.
A shudder runs through hitticus so violent it looks like a small seizure. "GOOD GOLDEN GODS! That's a mouther! We might be in over our heads here, that thing will drive you insane with the trog stench and, and... Eeeeuuughhh." He shakes his head violently. "Thank you for the foresight friend."

Randrak ponders the vision he just saw, he can only assume that it was caused by the creature before him. It must be able to communicate in a similar way to that of the dragon on the ship. He did not know what he saw in the vision, but he did understand that creature in front of him is asking for help. That was simple enough. If Randrak is being asked for help, then he sure will help. Being fed to something is a horrible way to go, and it seems that these creatures, whatever they are and were, were with the dwarves that were in these mines.
He looks up at the creature floating in the air,
"We will do our best to help you, I swear my life on it."
Then he considers the creature before him. He really had never seen anything like it. Then again, Randrak was not one for recognising something. He is much better at tracking things down and killing them.

"I think this is going to be . . . interesting?" Mercwri mutters as the images and plea swirl through his minds eye. "Don't know what a 'Mouther' is Hitticus, but I certainly don't want to charge in there like I am a knight in shining armour either; that last be directed at you, Randrak. We should probably save the heroics until they are really, really needed. If we can get close enough, I have some vials of acid that would probably do some pretty decent damage to that 'Mouther'. Anyone have anything that can burn? Didn't that old dwarf mention a ledge? I like the idea of flaming acid death raining down from above, keeps me safer, too."

Alanis initial relief of having made the dive makes way to worry when she spots the curious creature.
She tries to make her way to the shore slowly, assuming that should that cavedweller be hostile , she‘d better be on dry land rather than in water.
„Does... anyone know what kind of creature this is?“
she asks in a quiet voice, searching her own memory for any information.
(I‘ll just roll a flat intelligence check. Should it happen to Arcana I would have proficiency.)
