You all head north into a dark passageway that snakes around to the west quite quickly. (Did everyone follow?)
You follow it for a time without incident until eventually the chamber snakes again to the south and you find yourself at the northern entrance to a square chamber with exits leading off in all four directions. The floor hear is made of white marble cracked and moss ridden. Opposite in the southern passage you see a dim orange light flickering against the walls. The passages to the east and west remain dark.
With that roll Mercwri you sense that the left hand passage leads back toward where you fought the wolves and hobgoblins. The air from the right hand passage smells damp and acrid, and looking ahead toward the southern passage you surmise that a the chamber beyond is occupied. You are almost certain that you hear snatches of conversation and the flicking light is sure to come from a fire of some sort.
Mercwri will relate what he has determined to the others; "I'd say we go where the noise, uh hm, conversation? is; don't like to leave known potential dangers undealt with. T'ain't sure about that passage, might be a monster in there, kinda like a lair maybe." He shrugs, "Don't know. What do you all think?"

"Let's not talk too much, if we can hear them they might hear us. Let's go deal with them... However we need" Hitticus says the last bit while looking straight at our resident humanitarian
Reggarn you are crossing the chamber and making your way toward the southern passage. At this point Reggarn the voices are clear, and are speaking in goblin though you can not make out the words.
(Hmmm, looks like my last post didn't go through for some reason, but Randrak suspected that they had looped back round to the other side of the west passage.)
Randrak decides to follow Reggarn.

“The secret we should never let the gamemasters know is that they don't need any rules.” ― Gary Gygax
Reggarn you enter the southern passage ahead of the others so are first to see what lies beyond. The passage descends down a shall set of steps before opening up into a large chamber. The acrid smell of chemicals hits you immediately as you take in the sight of a large black egg, sitting in a bubbling pool of acid. A small hooded figure stands behind the egg, they hold a gnarled bone staff in one hand and a wicked looking dagger in the other.
To either side of the figure two tall hobgoblins draw swords and begin to advance. At the moment they only see you Reggarn, the others are yet to emerge from the shadows behind you.
Mercwri you stand just behind Reggarn but have not yet been seen. (Anyone else wishing to sneak in roll stealth).

(Nevermind, Hob’s post didn’t show for me. Yes she follows if only because she really doesn’t know what their plan is anymore.)

Mercwri will extend his senses to try and get a feel for the chamber.

Struck by a sudden mischievousness , he grins broadly, “Nor cuddly.”

Hitticus will just move up next to Reggarn "Of you're talking talk fast" Hitticus says standing shoulder to shoulder
Alanis, painfully aware of her complete lack of sneaking skills, moves up to Reggarn, but slightly behind rather then next to him.
“… I must admit I don’t believe talking will do any good, but I think I understand where you are coming from. Good luck, you grace.“
Her fingers are covered in a well smelling salve when she gently pats his shoulder, serving to transfer a bit of her magic.

She then takes a step back, preparing for things to turn violent.
