Swigggoes to great pains to stands his ground, and laces his next words with magic again to try and drive off the Griannte Snapping Turtle. Unfortunately, while some of her outer bark withers and dies from the magic, she yet stayed root in place.
Griante Snapping Turtle shakes off the last of the lingering magic, and snaps at Swigg, getting him good if there's no magical interference this time around.
Swigg, despite being on his last legs after take one bad bite to the arm, pulls free long enough to shout out some more dissonant words to try and run the stalwart turtle!
After trading blows both magical and bestial, Griannado emerges victorious in the end with Swigg's cutting words and even more curt surrender. With that, a horn blares and signal firebolts of various coloration flies up into the sky, signaling an end to the match! Constructs and medical staff enter the arena both to further ensure the stability of conditions and escorts the defeated to the trauma ward with a backdrop of cheers and applause for having fought valiant despite it all. For their participation and experience garnered in the coliseum, Swigg receive 8000 xp and 2720 gold.
The victor is taken below to be patched up and receive their prize on the receding sounds of a crowd's cheers and well wishes. Grianne earns 16000 xp and 6800 gold, and is ready to proceed to the next round.
Tier 3:
"Take any one item. We're well equipped." The room contains every item from Chapter 5 of the Player's Handbook weighing 70 pounds or less, armor of varying sizes, instruments, tool kits. There are also spell scrolls, every first level spell is present (as well as spell scrolls of a level for which a magic user of the characters new level would have slots for), and an encyclopedia of knowledge. Reading these books will grant you proficiency with any one tool kit or any one language, depending which book you choose. The books are magically infused to allow easy retention, but the magic is lost once used.
Upper Tier:
The victor may choose instead, an item from a magically infused chest that summons 10 randomly selected magic items to choose from (rarity determined by level). Alternatively they may exchange a magic item for another item of their choosing of the same rarity or lower, if the administrator has the requested item in his extensive collection. "You name it, we've probably got one somewhere."

The next match will feature any interested level-3 competitors. The match will begin in the next 48 hours. Or sooner, if all level contestants gather before then.
As the sun begins descends over the horizon in Sel'eman, Arena Shapers and Constructs work on tirelessly to put the final modifications in place of a specially tailored made complex for the fights to be had next.
To win: 3... Aggressive Opponents - Fight! Aggressive enemies will join the battle every four rounds. Defeat your opponents before you are overwhelmed.
The conditions: 3... Night - The battle field is lit with Torches and Dancing Lights but darkness still looms. Checks relying in sight will suffer disadvantage even with Darkvision.
The Map: 9.... The Complex - A single, roofless building fills the space. It is filled with luxurious marble floors, gilded lamps, strong oak doors, and neatly maintained plants. All of the doors and windows are shut. In the center is a courtyard dominated by a single tall tree. There are tables, chairs, counter tops, stoves, and other furniture throughout the structure.
(Doors and windows can be opened and closed as freely as drawing or stowing a weapon. Climbing through the open windows is difficult and will cost 5 extra feet of movement without a DC 10 Athletics or Acrobatics check. Attempting this check and failing will cause the character to fall prone.)

As the contestants enter the arena (and a certain Overlord remembers their job..), Marmaduke once again flies out to an already excited crowd to announce with a booming voice. "Ladies, Gentlemen, and All things in-between or beyond! Welcome to the Coliseum!" The crowd roar and cheers for a moment. "Hailing from lands far oversea, and wielding the powers of the elements in his very fist is the one, the only, Egzoi the Elemental Fist!" A dark-skinned human has not even a single hair on his head. But what he lacked in hair, he made up for in bearing a very unique javelin at his back.

(Ha, thanks. I guess 3rd level competitors are not scarce at this point, so long after the game began.)
Egozi grins, then immediately starts running forward. He opens the first set of doors, then opens the second one. Reaching the next room, he stops. No need to rush this, his enemy will reveal himself soon.
Free Action: Open the first set of doors. Action: [Tooltip Not Found] to open the second set of doors. Move: Broken between actions, but in the end, reaching H-5.
(In case opening the second set of doors does not take an action, Egozi will try to conceal his presence. Stealth: 18.
(@FireCat5: It would indeed take an action to open the second door. You only get 1 free interact with an object a turn barring any special features or special gear I'm afraid.)
Moko apparently did not get the memo about not rushing things, as he wastes little time in barreling through the first door, before then scaling the walls past the second one and dropping down on the other side(11-i). From there, he can just make out Egozi. It's only at that point he realizes his mistake, and snaps into a defensive posture.
The sound of gears grinding behind the walls of the arena can just faintly be heard... 3 more rounds before the hazards make themselves known.
(I figured, as that's how it's usually played. "Doors and windows can be opened and closed as freely as drawing or stowing a weapon." That confused me though.)
Egozi grins as he notices his enemy. Running past the doors, he gets close to his opponent, then settles in an offensive posture, his quarterstaff ready to strike at the enemy if he attacks.
Free Action: Open the doors. Move: To K-10. Action: Ready an attack with his quarterstaff that he will unleash the moment Moko comes within range.
(@FireCat5: It would indeed take an action to open the second door. You only get 1 free interact with an object a turn barring any special features or special gear I'm afraid.)
Confused at first, Moko bounds to the south a bit(10-i) and cocks his head to the side. Then his own grin blooms into being. "Ohhh! Very smart.. But -- Think Fast!" He suddenly lurches forward, throwing his spear in hopes of forcing Egozi's hand. But come what may he bounds in close afterwards(10-J), striking hard and fast with a palm strike. The moment contact is made, disrupting ki is released in a deadly pulse. None of it lands.
Bonus Action: Martial Arts Strike. (Melee)Unarmed Strike - Attack: 17 Damage: 5 non-magical bludgeoning. If hit, Spending 1 ki for Hand of Harm, inflicting an additional 5 necrotic damage. (If a crit, adding another 1 as well.)
The sound of gears grinding behind the walls of the arena starts to grow louder.... 2 more rounds before the hazards make themselves known.

(Doors and windows can be opened and closed as freely as drawing or stowing a weapon. Climbing through the open windows is difficult and will cost 5 extra feet of movement without a DC 10 Athletics or Acrobatics check. Attempting this check and failing will cause the character to fall prone.)

Each space on the grid is 5 ft. × 5 ft. In the example I've placed K at C-2. The proportions can be a bit confusing because the grid appears narrower than it is tall.

Movement: To 10-i.
Action: Ranged Attack using Spear.
(Thrown)Spear - Attack: 19 Damage: 7 non-magical piercing.
Movement(remaining): To 10-J.
