"What have we gotten ourselves into...?" Krivnaar mumbles, as he goes over to inspect the half-orc mage's body. "Methinks my practice is going to have to be put on pause for a little while."
Morgan glances to make sure the man they came to rescue was not dead. He could still see the blade slicing across the pale neck, but there was little choice. Glad to see the man still lived, he moves to the door the strange creature left through before the brain-puppy thing attacked. Opening the door, if it is closed, he glances through, his greatsword still in hand.
Grykham shudders for a moment as the gazer dies. "Whew, creepy thing for sure. Glad that's done." Seeing Morgan go to the door Grykham moves to join him.
Floon gasps loudly. "Oh thank the heavens you all came! They had me near an inch of my life!" Floon says worriedly, as he's now on his feet, being supported by Renaer. "I did my best to be tough, y'know. I didn't tell them they had the wrong guy, I'm sure they would've killed me if I did." Floon adds on with despair in his eyes.
"I'm grateful." Renaer says reassuringly. "Your tenacity didn't go unnoticed, and I'll be certain to get you the best medical care and all the ale the Yawning Portal can muster."
Floon smiles warmly, and grimaces as well from just being in pain from the beating he's endured. "Who are your friends?" Floon asks curiously upon noticing the adventurers.
Morgan and Grykham open the double doors to the next room. in the middle of this otherwise empty room is a stone pillar carved with a small symbol: a perfect circle with ten equidistant spokes radiating outward from its circumference. In the middle of this circle is a smaller circular indentation that bears a passing resemblance to a lidless eye.
Seeing the empty room Morgan frowns. “You think there is a secret passage, or did that thing use some sort of magic to get out of here?” He glances to the others for their opinions.
Rashar gently shakes off the adrenaline of the encounter, glancing with disgust at the abberations they had encountered. Never had he seen something so grotesque. He turns to Floon.
"You, you've been causing your friend Volo a lot of worry. He's hired us to come find you. Turns out, we found Renear first. Sorry you had to take a beating, but with that scar, you're sure to have a story to tell the ladies."
He studies the two.
"You indeed have an uncanny resemblance. I wonder why that's so?"
Rashar accompanies Morgan and Grykham into the next room. He puzzles over the contents for a moment.
"Is this a shrine of some sorts? Now, I believe we have fulfilled the task Volo gave us. Why should we stay any longer?"

"Agreed." Morgan says with a shrug, moving back into the previous room. He makes a quick search of that area, in case there is anything of interest or value around, then would nod back the way they came in. "Shall we head back then?"
Floon seems delighted that the adventurers were hired by Volo. "Ah, glad to see he does care. Did you have any trouble finding me? I'll do whatever I can to repay you all for your efforts."
He's also able to spot a wooden chest on the platform, near the throne where the mysterious figure was sitting with the intellect devourer. Inside the wooden chest, is two potion of healing, 16 dragons (gp), 82 shards (sp), and 250 nibs (cp).
Renaer notices the potions and raises a brow "I think Floon could use one of those." Renaer suggests, as Floon is barely standing.
"No problem." Morgan agrees, handing one over. He passes the spellbook he found off to the resident wizard, and then puts the rest into his pack. "We can split this up when we are above ground." He assures the others. "Now, how about us heading out of this place..."
Floon chugs the potion of healing, and he regains 9 hit points. "Ah, I feel better." he says, feeling sturdy enough to walk on his own now. "I've seen folks come in and out of that room behind the double doors. There must be an exit that way. I was blindfolded when I was taken down here, so I'm afraid I'm of no help."
Rashar nods as the spoils are put in Morgan's pack.
"A fine payment for our efforts. Let's go then- don't want to get mixed up anymore in this place. Floon, stay close- there could be more threats in the area."

Jarret raises his eyebrows at the sight of Grum’shar’s spell book. At some point in the way back he will nudge Morgan and silently ask if he can take a look at the book when they return to the tavern.
"Floon suggest a passage may be in there. If it saves us trudging through more muck..." Krivnaar goes into the adjacent room Floon indicated, checking the stonework for evidence of a secret passage.
Everyone enters the portal room, and Krivnaar isn't able to find any secret passages. Everyone is able to see doors on the far left and far right, that leads into more sleeping quarters that are empty aside from straw pallets used for beds and rusty manacles bolted on the walls.
They see some stairs that ascend in which reveals a door on the left and a door on the right. The door on the right leads to one of the watch posts with a dead goblin lying on the floor, from being shot with a crossbow bolt earlier. The door on the left, reveals a short hallway with the wall at the end appearing to be moveable.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Rashar will quickly search the dead goblin and the beds for any valuables. As he reaches the goblin, he will pull out his crossbow bolt from it's body.

The gazer gets drilled by a scorching fire bolt, and it seems to barely be hovering now.
It goes to Rashar.

The bolt pierces into the gazer's eye, and its body explodes. It's mushy debris scatters across the room.
All the foes have been vanquished.
Renaer is eagerly checking upon Floon. "Floon, my friend, good to see you're still kickin'!"
