"Property is much more useful than coin." Morgan says with a frown at the others. He eyes Rashar in particular. "Mercinaries know that coin is not the only way to pay, and this is likely worth a whole lot more than the 100 gold we were promised." he glances to Volo. "We will want to have a look first, but I think this is a fair trade, if it is not a complete dump." He reaches out and takes the deed.
Rashar responds to Morgan, "Nobles know that maintaining trust is more important than any payment. This man cheated us, and even if this so called property was a king's palace, he's made a grievous mistake."
He sighs and jingles his purse, containing the treasure looted from the Hideout.
"Nevermind, I've got my coin. Let's go take a look at this property. I move around too much to settle down, but perhaps we can rent it out if it's worth a damn."

Aubree would stand and shake Krivnaar's hand with a smile. "Well I have no intention of breaking the law... though I appreciate the offer, sir!"
She looks to the dwarf and then to the half-elf that look to both have issues with Volo. "You cannot take too much offense toward a man who wished to save his friend." She'd walk around Volo, her shield and war-pick at her sides, and a handful of javelins upon her back fairly visible upon a bag, she'd place a mailed gauntlet upon the bard's shoulder and give a pat. "If it truly means that much, then I wish to offer my services to your band to pay off what Mr. Geddarm would have owed." She'd lean down to whisper to him to him, "Least I can do for your service toward my family." She'd straighten herself up, her figure looked fairly built for one with such a thin, gentle face. "My services include healing, protection, and I am a trained alchemist. I can even clean this new residence if need-be. Does that work for you lot?" Her nose was scrunched, looking fairly serious.
Volo doesn't seem bothered by the threat, since he's perhaps the world's most famous explorer and curator. "I understand your disappointment. I'm afraid I've very little coin to spare since I had blown my savings to purchase this estate so that I may use it to conduct research for my next book - 'Volo's Guide to Spirits and Specters'." he says this while wafting his hand through the air to make it sound more dramatic. "This is all that I can offer you. The estate itself is worth ten times more than what you were expecting. If you don't like the estate, then you can sell it. I know Emmek Frewn was quite eager to buy the estate himself." Volo concludes wholeheartedly.
Aubree would scan around the room, take a few gulps of water from a nearby cup as everyone stands and scampers along. "...Did he say he bought the building to research spirits...?" She mutters to Morgan.
Rashar follows Morgan, a little disturbed at the thought of spirits. Not because he was incredibly superstitious, but because rumors of ghosts could only mean the property was in disrepair.

Krivnaar frowns at Volo, while the group begins to depart. "Ah, Volo, could you please clarify - given its relevance to your book...is this estate known to be haunted? Are there any details in that regard?"
Grykham snorts again. "Hrast! Books and houses don't interest me much but it's obvious I'm not getting paid today. So be it. Let's go look at this house then. But I ain't payin the taxes on it!"
Aubree smirks down at the dwarf to her side and says in dwarvish, "I hope Abbathor doesn't have a grip too tight on you, friend." Followed by a cheeky grin.
"Well for now, I'll pay you and your half-elven friend back what the gentlemen owes and we call it square. How much did he owe sir...?" She asked in Dwarvish, a bright smile to give a positive attitude as they walk.
Krivnaar, not being able to help himself, pipes in in accented Dwarvish, "As for the taxes, well, I can certainly help with the books to...minimize our burden." He gives a wink.
Aubree gives a happy gasp, clapping to Krivnaar and responds in dwarvish, "Very good! And Sir Dwarf, I do understand how you feel. I live and work with the Frostbeards on Book Street, Mr. Frostbeard raises all sorts of hell when a customer attempts to barter him out of profit. Though, you did save a life, so at the very least I can pay you back and you do not have to deal with this gentleman. Or you can always consult your scaly friend about using the law against him."
In a very loud voice, and in common so the room can hear, Grykham speaks "100 gold pieces, each. Volo hear promised us 100 gold pieces, each I might add. And he has cheated us and not paid."
Back in a normal voice he growls "Now let's get going before I seek my pound of flesh."
Rashar smiles at Grykham's announcement. He wasn't that serious per say about Volo's swindle, but definitely annoyed. What else could he expect from the those drunk on fame?
Instead, he's interested in what the newcomer has to offer. He says to Aubree, " Welcome to the team. Tell me, have you seen any action before?"

"So, one hundred to the both of you," She looks between the half-elf and dwarf. "I have helped heal others during the local fight. Been jumped a few times in the alleys, but I'm durable... This team, how this all start? What brought you all together?"
Morgan just shakes his head at the foolish reaction of his companions. Even if the place was a dump, they could, more than likely in his estimation, sell it for more coin than Volo offered them for the task anyway. "Let's go and have a look at this place." He tells Volo.
