The adventurers depart from the Yawning Portal, and will make way toward their new home at Trollskull Alley in the North Ward.
Their new house is locally known as Trollskull Manor.
It's T1 on the map.
From the outside, the manor is rough. The windows have shattered glass that has since been boarded up. The railing has broken banisters. It looks as if nobody has lived here for quite some time.
Aubree winces a bit giving the manor a good look. She knew the residence looked abandoned for what looked like years, not the worst she's seen, but still pretty beat-up, she would chime in, trying to keep in good spirits, "...It's not the worst I've seen... And it's in such a wonderful area! The North Ward is full of so many kind people, many nobles live around here, the food is delicious..." Her voice trailing, listing a few more good things about the North Ward of Waterdeep. She has always looked to living here someday compared to the chaos of the Dock Ward.
"Ah, yes, that's...unfortunate," remarks Krivnaar. A residence in the belly of overstuffed pomposity wasn't something Krivnaar looked forward to. "I was rather hoping for something more salt-of-the-earth. The wages of fortune, I suppose." He begins to pace around the mansion's perimeter, to see if there's anything particularly out of the ordinary - and whether there are in fact any signs of squatters.
Grykham growls "I knew it, cheated. No wages and a house in such disrepair that it will cost a hundred times what he owes us to make livable. This day gets better and better. Well, we better go inside and see the damage. At least no one will think we're rich and try and rob us."
Morgan doesn't get too put off by the outward appearance of the place. He would walk through the complex, looking it over and trying to see what it would take to make it either sellable or put back into working order.

Rashar sighs, "Well, expectations match reality, as always. What a dump- how did this place ever end up like this anyways? Morgan, could you help shed some insight about this place?"

Everyone enters the taproom. The inside is more of the same of the inside. The furniture that inside is broken, shards of glass lie along the floor, and there's a distinctive scent in the air that's uneasy on the nose. The place could definitely use a clean-up.
"Probably just need to get some of the guilds in to look the place over." Morgan says as he looks over the inside. "Not going to know how much it will cost to fix up until that is done..."

Aubree looks around and smiles at this taproom and bar, clapping her hands together in the middle of the taproom “Any spirit or ghosts of this house, please reveal yourselves to us.” She says in a sounding, commanding voice
This looked like a fairly large house and she knew she can only do this a handful of times, but once per floor sounded like the wise idea to Aubree. Her eyes flowed orange with the power of her deity flashing in her eyes to see any ghosts or spirits any other features that are out of place.

Jarret will take the time to ritually cast detect magic on the way to or at the manor, then looking around for anything that gives off a telltale magical glow.
Aubree turns to the dragonborn, her eyes still flashing orange, "Mr. Geddarm bought this manor to study spirits and the like, I'd rather not take any chances. I'm searching from the roof to the basement!" She stands proud, scanning around still
Rashar is able to notice that the trash spread throughout the taproom is primarily the cause of the foul odor. Aubree isn't able to see anything regarding paranormal activity. Upon casting divine sense, she's immediately able to determine that something Undead is among them. She's able to detect the creature moving sporadically across the taproom, making it difficult to pinpoint its location.
Jarret isn't able to detect any sort of magic, unfortunately. Grykham goes over to open the hatch to the cellar. Immediately as he opens it, the hatch gets slammed shut with a thunderous thud and Grykham hears a faint, ominous whisper in his left ear. "It's closing time."

Rashar looks around and shrugs. "A taproom, eh? I could use a good drink after seeing the sorry state of this house."
Still, he tries to identify what the distinctive smell may be, if he could recognize it at all.
Perception: 17
Then, he searches the first floor for anything of note.

"Wonder if there's much of value beside the real estate," considers Krivnaar, as he goes over behind the bar to check the state of the pantry area.

Krivnaar eyes Aubree curiously. "Well, that's an ominous way to welcome our new property! Have you found spirits to abide by such requests?"

"Well a taproom eh? That's certainly a plus if there is any chance Volo or thieves left anything behind to drink."
Grykham checks the bar area and then, if he finds nothing worth drinking, he heads for the cellar hoping to find something worth tapping.

"How about it's opening time? Hiding the good stuff down there? " Grykham says as he reaches down to pull the hatch to the cellar open again.
Krivnaar frowns at Grykham. "Who are you talking to? Is someone there?"
Grykham grasps the handle of the hatch firmly as he attempts to pry it open. He can feel an unknown resistance that's causing him to struggle.
Grykham can make a Strength (Athletics) check to see if he can forcibly open the hatch.
