She narrows her eyes and points out the stairs. "Found our way forward." She says with a small grin as she picks up the lantern. It's huge and impractical to carry, so she tries to push it into the bag of holding that their first bit of loot was found in. If that doesn't work, she'll figure out a way to strap it to her back in a relatively easy to remove in the event of combat fashion.

"If we can get that in the bag I could carry it and run us up these stairs, so you guys don't have to climb them all" Torrin gazes up into the darkness "Unless we have a different way of providing light"
It takes a bit of maneuvering, but Sylzet is able to get the lantern into the bag of holding.
When Torrin mentions making light, Zanver snaps his fingers while quietly proclaiming, "Shirak." And three balls of bluish-white light burst into existence over his head. "Light is easy," says the halfling.
Sylzet takes a deep sigh of relief that her prize would stay in the bag of holding. She then looks to Lazarus. "...well, while we wait for our platinum shield then I guess... What exactly do you have in terms of skills?"

Mother Lazarus regards Sylzet as if for the first time. and then looks back at the scene before her "As I said before, my skills lie in the Mystic Arts."
The stairs lead up almost 50 feet to a massive archway, at least 15 feet tall, and into another large room. As the balls of light follow Torrin, he can see a room, 50 feet to a side. At the far end of the room, there appears to be a gateway, like the large one they initially came through, but with one appears cracked and dull, with no clear magic animating it. However, Torrin's attention is drawn to the center of the room where there is a massive circular sheer shaft, 30 feet across, that descends beyond sight. Around the shaft is set a collar of green-tinged metal, cut with faintly glowing arcane runes, and slightly off to one side stands a small podium with a panel containing a series of crystals arranged in some arcane manner, glowing with a faint blue light. A similar set of crystals is set into the wall at about 10 feet high.
Torrin lets out a small whistle at the sight, turning back and flying down to the group, exclaiming as he comes down, "More wizardry up there, I'm gonna ferry the arcanists up so they can get a look". He drops down and offers a hand to Mother Lazarus "let's see your grasp of the arcane my lady"
It's not difficult for the others to climb the stairs without flying, but it would take a long time. With Torrin ferrying each up the stairs, it takes significantly less time.
Mother Lazarus, as the first one up, has longer to inspect the area and examine the runes and crystals (Mother Lazarus, please make three Arcana checks).

Against the wall opposite the massive archway at the top of the stairs, there is a gate that is cracked and broken. Through the cracks, only bare stone is visible. Upon the gate, the engravings are too unclear to make out, though it appears to be in Abyssal, with a similar figure 8 pattern as the massive door the heroes first entered, opposite the discomforting statue. It occurs to Torrin that the room with the statue, is likely what the Warlock's book referred to as The Parlor.
For Mother Lazarus:
The collar around the shaft appears to function as a kind of powerful ward. It would be nearly impossible for any devil or celestial to pass through the collar, and those that could would take a massive amount of damage. It also appears that this would affect any demon that isn't carrying a certain sigil.
The crystals appear to be some kind of control panel that seems to be controlling some kind of permanent spell. You can tell that it seems to be from the Conjuration school of magic, but it's a wizard spell with which you're unfamiliar. However, the controls with the crystal are written in Abyssal, which you can read as "Summon," "Descend," and "Hover."
Torrin listens as mother lazarus explains, and his copper eye flicks over to the controls. "should we press one, see what we are working with?? Might make traversing this place easier". The Dragonborn adjusts his grip on his spear, pulling his shield back up in his off hand. "I think this may be the room the warlock called the pit room. said this is where he worked the magic that amplified Damagh Al'um's power. Might be a weakness to find".
Sylzet wanders around the room, idly reading the Abyssal she can see and make out, if any. "What kind of sigil though..." She wonders aloud, before snorting. "They seem to be working on very simple principles. Quite literal, in fact. Single runes, perhaps single words with their letters overlaid into a new form.... Someone give me parchment. Wizards aren't the only ones who can experiment." She grins, having a delightful idea on making her own sigil.

As Sylzet experiments with considering her own sigil (OOC: Arcana check, and what kind of sigil are you thinking?), the halfling wizard approaches the crystals and examines them in more detail. After a moment, he says, "This appears to be connected to a very powerful modified version of Tenser's Floating Disk."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
(I was thinking of two sets of sigils: One being "Shield," and one being our dear demon queen's name, spelled out in a form of "rune stave" aka the letters all overlaid on top of each other in one symbol)

After tinkering with the control panel for a bit, it becomes clear that the Abyssal words written there are not truly part of the control, but only labels added for ease of use. The crystals themselves seem locked in place, aside from one crystal that, after further investigation, seems to function almost as a lever. This wasn't not clear at first, as the crystals seem to be locked in place in a magical ward, without any clear mechanical support. However, after Sylzet examines it more, she can see that there is one "loose" crystal that seems like it can pivot, but not be removed. It currently rests on "Hover" in between "Summon" and "Descend."
