Oddly, the crystal does not fit back in the bag, maybe it was smaller when it went in. When you start trying to fit it, the eyes of the woman open, as though she's slowly becoming conscious and aware of her surroundings, though the rest of her appears unable to move.
Zanver has already begun examining the other items, a particularly large pearl in one hand, and an owl feather in the other. He waves it over the objects, as he mutters words of magic to himself. He informs the party that the objects are an ebony fly, a Staff of the Apprentice (Evocation), and that the spear is known as Lareth's Grace, made from the thighbone of the great Ancient Gold Dragon Lareth. (OOC: it requires attunement, gives a +1 to hit and damage, does an additional 1d8 piercing damage, and is a returning weapon. Also as a reaction when you are hit by a melee attack, you can make a melee attack with the spear, with advantage, against the attacker. You can’t use this property again until you finish a short or long rest.)
Within the box that Sylzet opens, there is a small book clipped to the lid. The box itself is split into a 4 x 4 grid by wooden spacers. Each space is padded and clearly designed to hold potions. There are currently 6 potions in the box, each clearly marked and labeled: three potions of greater healing, one elixir of health, one potion of heroism, and one potion of invulnerability.
Sylzet shrugs. "The wizard gets the staff, you can keep the spear Torrin... I'll take the fly." She looks over the potions and takes one potion of greater healing. "The rest of you can have those potions." She then looks at the girl and grumbles gently. "...shit, she's waking up. I don't like it."

Torrin tosses the spear up in the air a couple times, seemingly distracted for a seond. he then shakes his head and turns to sylzet and the entrapped girl. Torrin decides to push some of his mental energy through the bone of the warlock trapped within his skull, and begins to speak; "archmage, have you sent anyone else here?? we've found a human woman trapped here within a crystal, in a bag of the warlocks possessions." ((using the knucklebone to cast sending to the archmage))

(oooh, I get it now... lol. Also, burning 2 Sorc HD for 7 HP gained)
Sylzet grumbles gently before she sighs. "Alright alright, I'll shatter the crystal... Graz'zt..." She looks for a chunk of the crystal where the girl *isn't* so she has a clean strike to shatter it without a risk of hitting her. The woman looks at the girl in the crystal, a dull look of distrust on her almost mask-like face. "...Ready?" Before getting an answer, she raises her greatsword and brings it down on the crystal!
(btw, her saying Graz'zt in that way is the same kind of tone that us in the real world would say Christ. :P)

((ooc I unattuned to the eye and attuned to Lareth's grace, and I also burned 3 HD, healing for 18 ))
Torrin flinches slightly as the crystal breaks, jamming his finger into his open eye socket as he removes the knuckle bone. He shakes his head, reinserts the eye, manually this time, and holds his new spear up alongside his shield, waiting to see how the woman acts.
As Torrin spends the time to attune to the weapon, the whispering voice becomes more insistent, lauding the glory of battle, conquering your foes, winning at all costs... and reveling in the slaughter. The tale of Lareth imprints itself on Torrin's mind. Lareth was once known as the "King of Justice," Lord of all metallic dragons by right of age, standing, and goodness, believed blessed by Bahamut. But after centuries serving as the king, he became corrupted by the Dragon Rage. Previously known for his calm and thoughtful manner, treating others with dignity and wisdom, his reasoning and judgment became corrupted while trying to protect the other metallic dragons from the Rage. This led to other dragons to challenge his command and, sadly, to kill him. After his death, daggers were made of his fangs, swords of his claws, and four matching spears of his bones to honor the glorious King he once was.
One such spear was wielded by a paladin, one of the "Talons of Justice," a knightly order of paladins, including many dragons and dragonborn. This paladin, Syr Havarian, carried the spear in a suicide quest into the Abyss. The fate of the paladin is unknown, but the spear...the spear was lost to the order in a fight against a powerful fiend. While it initially appeared to kill the demon Baromach, the demon managed at the last moment of its existence to bind itself to the spear and corrupt it with its presence.
As Torrin attunes to the spear, running his hands over the draconic runes, speaking of Justice and Honor. He looks closer, and realizes too late, that these have been scratched over subtly by Abyssal, their patterns lost in the bone structure, forming mocking sentences, that Torrin realizes he can now read. In his head, a the once whispering voice speaks plainly. A seductive, feminine voice full of the promise of pleasure and pain. "Hello my new friend. It has been so long since I've felt the touch of a warrior.... I look forward to our time together." It says with a haunting laugh.
(OOC: Please see the new item "Torment" that I've placed in your inventory and attuned for you.)
Torrin turns from his travelling companions, so as to much sure his face doesn't reveal anything, and then focusses his mind, in hopes of communicating with the spear. "I assume I'm speaking to Baromach. I have good news and bad news. The good news is you shall drink more than your fair share of blood at my hand, and extinguish many a wretched life. The bad news is absolutely none of it will be in your name, for I do not bend for a petty fiend. I serve the god of gods, I am an avatar of the platinum one, A vessel from which Bahamut's glory shall pour. Drink long and drink deep, for your time of corrupting this holy artifact grows closer to it's end by the second."
Sylzet grunts as she starts moving chunks of crystal away from the imprisoned girl now, occasionally glancing at Torrin. "What, is it cursed or something, plat boy? Get over here and help." She says sardonically.

Torrin gives a quick shake of his head, then walks over to the crystal mess, brushing away chunks of crystal with his foot. He maintains his grip on the spear, in a sort of half stance, in case this woman turns out to be foe rather than friend.
Slowly as the shards are brushed away, the face and body of a mature beautiful woman with smooth chocolate skin and deep brown eyes regards them . She leans into a sitting position with graceful movement a scent of jasmine seems to flow through the air around her. she regards you with a smile of thanks for your assistance and slowly rises , brushing crystal from her black silk clothing.
She begins speaking softly in a strange rich smooth tongue (French) and then she switches to a more vibrant tongue with a faster cadence (Spanish).
If no response she appears quizzical and contemplative for a moment. she then smiles and says in Draconic "I am known as Mother Lazarus. I wish to thank you all for my release. I am truly indebted to you."
"we're in the Abyss, specifically the realm of Damagh Al'um. We've been sent here to take down the demon queen herself, and restore a land living under her curse. Would you like to join us?? we could use all the help we could get... not to mention I'm not entirely sure how we would get you back if we wanted to" Torrin says, a close approximation of a grin crossing his golden scaled face.
Sylzet mutters something before responding in Draconic. "Call your payment of the debt as aiding us complete our mission." She says before resting on her greatsword. "I hope you're decent at fighting demons, or if not, at least healing to keep us in the fight."
