The walk to Hammer's Hammer is uneventful. People passing by, along the way, do make a note and a curious face at the number of scimitars Milo and Donnar are carrying between them.
Hammer's Hammer is found right were the stranger said it would be.
Assuming the two heroes head into the ship, Tobias Hammer is seen organizing his latest creations up on the walls and counters behind the desk of this little shop. Padded light armor, clubs, a few daggers, and other simple melee and ranged weapons are available. Upon seeing the two heroes enter his shop, he stops what he's doing and greets them. "Hello, " he says. "Welcome to my shop, Hammer's Hammer." Noticing the 7 scimitars between them he adds, "Oh, I recognize at least one of those scimitars. Something bad must have happened. Tell me, how can I help you today?"
Milo considers the shopkeeper''s words. "Something bad indeed. We were attacked in the street, and forced to defend ourselves." Milo looks to the weapons they are carying. "As the previous owners of these weapons will have no more use for them,". He looks back to the man he's speaking with. "maybe we could strike up a deal? I require a club, sturdy and strong, and perhaps you have a boomerang for sale?"
"My friend here would like a shield." Milo looks to Donnar. "Aything else you need?"
Tobias says, "Attacked you say? What happened? Was someone trying to rob you? I recognize that scimitar there," He points to the scimitar taken from the BBBB.
"That one belongs to, or should I say hehe belonged to hehe, one of the meanest hooligans we have, hehe I mean had in this town. I sold it to him, with much internal reservation and regret, about 2 months ago." He continues, "I can't say that he'll be missed."
Getting back to business Tobias asks, "So, what kind of deal are you looking to make? I do have clubs, but I'm afraid I've never made a boomerang. Nobody has ever asked for one before. Then again, I don't move that much product. We are a pretty small town, after all. But, I do have shields, if you friend wants one."
The halfling eyes his companion suspiciously as he takes a small step away. "We are uncertain if they intended to rob us, they attacked and, well... They didn't survive long enough to be interigated." He sets the scimitars on the counter. "It seems we've done you a service, ridding this town of a nuisance. I can do you another." He picks up the scimitar belonging to BBBB. "I can return this blade, to ensure it brings you no more dishonor. For these services I request the club and his" he nods to Donnar "shield, we can sell the other scimitars to you at a fair price, and I wonder, if you haven't a boomerang, have you any slings? They are but a simple weapon and I will pay your going rate ."
As he finishes speaking, he eyes Donnar. "Oh, and if you can accommodate my friend's.... strange request ... we can discuss payment for that." The druid continues to hold the sword, displaying it on two open palms. "What say you?"
The Half-Elf follows the others into the store, wandering around as they discuss with the smithy their needs. He inspects some wares nonchalantly, with an air of interest only present in someone completely disinterested in what they’re looking at.
The only evidence to him paying attention to the others is a slight grin when Donnar says “boom”.
To the halfling Tobias says, "Sure, I'd be happy to take those scimitars off you, but with less bandits, there are less customers. It will take me a year to move them. I can offer you 25 gold for BBBB's scimitar and 15 gold, each for the other 6. I'll thrown in the shield and sling as well. How does that sound?"
"As for your odd request," as Tobias turns to Donnar. "I'm afraid I don't have anything that goes boom when lit. I do have a whip that goes 'CRACK!'".
To the Half-Elf he asks with a smile, "Looking for a new shortbow by chance?"
The bell rings when the door is opened. Valor walks in. Tobias looks up to make a mental note of the additional customer, but quickly returns focus back to the ongoing negotiations.
"A whip? That could be fun. Sure. I'll take a whip as well." Donnar says after only a seconds consideration.
He looks over his shoulder at the sound of the bell, acknowledging Valor. "He has slings, whips, shields and shortbows. Nothing that explodes though, I already asked."
Tobias takes down the whip from the wall and places it on the counter. "You got it, " he says to the dragonborn. "I'll throw this in, too, " he says looking back at the halfling, "if we have a deal."
Menttal - let us know what you are doing. Everyone is at Hammer's Hammer. Are you with them? Still in the street? Back in the tavern taking a rest?
Menttal arrives at the shop, after being late getting distracted by a street performance. He them walks up to the shopkeep before realizing there is nothing he wants to buy.
Looking over the counter, he considers the deal. "So, your finely crafted scimitar, plus these six others for a shield, a sling, a whip and 105 gold pieces?" he considers for a moment and looks to his companions. "It appears we have a deal."
As Menttal leaves the fallen bandits and makes to catch up with the other heroes at Hammer's Hammer, two of the onlookers that remained moved in to search the bodies of the fallen bandits. They noticed that only the BBBB was searched thoroughly and only the weapons of the others were taken. Moving quickly in order to search more pockets than the other, the two commoners made quick work the bandit's belongings. One onlooker, turned vulture, can even be heard by Menttal, excitedly saying, and almost too loud, "This one's got gold coins!" Menttal catches up with the others after a quick 10 minute walk. As he enters the shop he hears Milo say, "It appears we have a deal?"
Milo and Donnar hand over the scimitars and Tobias hands over the 105 gold pieces and the shield, whip, sling and club. Tobias asks of Milo and Donnar , "Are those two with you, too?" Tobias points to Menttal and Valor. "That one looks a little worse for wear," he zeroes in on Menttal. "I'm not sure what you all have planned next, but it looks like he could use a little rest. But, it's none of my business. I shouldn't pry. Gentlemen, thank you for stopping by today. I best get started on cleaning up these scimitars. Feel free to stay and have a look around."
The halfling thanks the shopkeeper politely, allowing him to get on with his work.
Turning to his companions he splits the gold (21 each) and says, "Well? Shall we take a rest? Or head towards the forest?" He eyes Menntal. "Take a moment to decide, I'll have a look around."
Milo takes note of the weapons and wares, but pays more attention to the layout and structure of the shop.
Leaning on his quarterstaff with a little more effort than usual, Elrodin shakes his head at the offer of a shortbow. Arrows pale in comparison he muses to himself. As he grins at his own remark, he notices the blood running down his staff from his own hand, seemingly having made small patches of blood where he had wandered around the store. Following the flow back up his arm, he remembers the flying knife from the crowd the larger oaf managed to hit him with. At the mention of rest, the Half-Elf turns to the group.
”I will not say I cannot continue, but it would seem...” he pauses to indicate the gash on his upper arm with his other hand, “... I’m in need of some medical attention, or a rest if others are in similar need”.
(ooc: could try just a small rest if we want to keep going, a heal if anyone has anything (unless others are more in need), or he can push through with 1/2 health :P)
"I could use a bit of a rest but, we best make it quick in case some other group finds this monster and reaps the reward while we are sitting on our bums resting like a bunch of little children." he says.
Looking to his companions, some of which require a small amount of healing, Milo decides to put a solid plan into words. "I say we head to the edge of the forest and prepare for a short time to recuperate." As he speaks he affixes his new sling to his pack and tucks the club into his belt. "those of us not needing the rest, can keep watch for danger, or possibly scout ahead." His gaze focuses on Valor. "But I also agree with Valor. We should make haste. We can speak more on the subject at the forest."
The halfling walks to the door, opens it, and walks into the street to wait for his companions, leaving the door open behind him.
From the street Milo sends a telepathic message to Elrodin.
"If you are in great need of healing, I can do a small amount."

The heroes set off for the forest, on a quest to clear out the monsters and fiends for the proprietor of JDOG’s Tavern. It’s a solid 20 hour journey that invariably leads to an overnight stop. Either that, or they arrive at the forest exhausted. To get to the forest, travelers cross the hills leading up to it. The forest is at a higher elevation where the hills start turn into mountains and can be seen off in the distance from the small town. The hills are a rolling landscape with wide open spaces covered in tall grasses, scarce bushes, and even scarcer oak trees. The path through the hillside is clearly visible in the valleys as tracks and footprints are left behind in dirt and mud. At the peaks of the hills, where the grasses are a little drier and thinner and the top layer of soil has eroded away leaving a more rocking ground, the path is harder to discern. However, from the peaks, it’s easy enough to get one’s bearings.
The hillside landscape is full of wildlife. Bears, elk, snakes, boars, hyenas, rats, various birds and other creatures can all be found and even be seen from the path, from time to time. If one is not alert or aware of their surroundings there are opportunities for these creatures to get a little too close for comfort. But, for the most part, they keep their distance unless provoked. Travelers often hunt for food for the evening when they make camp or they will hunt for sport or experience.
(oog) Pick up any last minute provisions as needed Remember to divide up the gold from the sale of the scimitars, if that was the plan As can be inferred from the description above, heroes can... 1. Go straight to the forest, but will be exhausted at 2nd level (first level from traveling halfway and not resting, second level due to traveling the second half exhausted at 1st level. Injured players would be at 3rd level of exhaustion if they went straight to the forest. 2. Camp over night 3. Hunt for food/XP 4. Or whatever. :) (/oog)

"Something i can sling over my back. Just in case." Donnar responds to Tobias.
Taking a moment to consider Milo's question, he shrugs his shoulders and asks, "Do you have anything that goes 'boom' when you set it alight?"
