James holds up a tattered piece of cloth with a faded symbol on it, and light shines forth, becoming heat.

Bob sees another accursed suit of armor swinging its lifeless metal fists at his friend and feels something he hasn't felt for a long, long time: anger. He was fed up with these walking mockeries of life and he was going to do something about it! He looks at his scimitar and then at the flame in his hand and growls out a curse in Dwarvish. As it leaves his lips his face elongates, grows grey fur and long fangs, Dwarvish turning into a real growl as he bares his teeth at the suit of armor. Where once was a friendly, portly dwarf was a snarling grey wolf and it lunges at the construct with an open, slavering maw.

 I'm going to go ahead and say yes. Gillain saw the Animated Armor come to life and can make the attack. However, remember, The spear has a 5 ft. reach but is not the most opportune weapon for close quarters, especially in the room this size and her companions all around her. Any crit fail may result in her breaking the weapon or striking a companion.

As Gillain walks with Tio past the Suit of Armor, it lunges towards her!... It swings its metal, gauntleted fist... but just barely misses her. 

Without even thinking though, she realises she’s deftly performed a move that had been drilled into her so often by her Master of Arms (her Polearms Master), that she reacts on pure instinct: ducking a strike, while simultaneously attempting to counter by leaving her spear, braced, where she once stood. She can’t tell if it did any damage, but it seems to have bought her valuable seconds...

Just then she glances at Bob... For a split second, he reminds her of her father: fiercely protective, but there’s anger there too... Anger and then something else... an animal rage...!

She watches as her friend growls something unintelligible, as his head seems to split or warp as she looks on... Her mind swims with something like horror, or terror for her friend. She staggers back as his wolf form lunges with a vicious looking bite. As her mind pieces together what has just happened, horror changes to a ferocious rush of pride and renewed vigour!

She takes Bob’s brutal attack, as her opportunity to strike (with the Armor hopefully otherwise engaged).

Stab!.. Bash!.. She tries to hit twice more with her spear...

Reaction (polearm master, attack-of-opportunity): Attack: 17 Damage: 9 

Attack action: Attack: 25 Damage: 11 

Bonus action (polearm master attack): Attack: 22 Damage: 8

Ermren stays out of range of the animated armor, and decides to try something else this time, raising his staff and releasing a focused blast of freezing energy at the armor.

Ray of Frost]: Attack: 25 Damage: 10

Gillain fights with a fury even she wasn’t sure she was capable of!!

Bob’s furious protection of her, has filled her with something she’d never felt before...Seeing her new friends defend her... it has shattered something inside her!!!

She feels something well up inside and rupture! A searing force projects from her in an unrestrained blast, assailing the armor with pure righteous energy!

Plus 5 damage if the armor is undead or a fiend!

As the Armor fails to attack Gillain , Tio will counter using her fist twice.

Round 1:

Gillain's Attack of opportunity: Gillain thrusts her spear at the attacking suit of armor but, misses.
Bob: To the parties surprise, this being the first time Bob has used this ability, Bob's form changes into that of a Grey Wolf. The Grey Wolf lunges forward, its maw latching onto the Suit of Armor and, biting and pulling, the wolf separates some of the armor from the main body.
Toi attacks the armor striking it but doing no damage to it.
Ermren: with a quick gesture and a few arcane words a bolt of pure cold erupts from Ermren, striking the Armor. A thick sheen of frost coats the Armor as it strikes.
Gillain: with great effort, as a grunt erupts from Gillain's mouth, she strikes the suit of armor. Her spear penetrates cleanly through the armor, coupled with the frost coating, the Armor shatters and falls to millions of tiny metal shards.
James: Seeing this James stops channeling the arcane energies for his spell.

Combat has ended.

The sound of the battle echos throughout the mansion then all goes quiet.

Next moves?

Bob, his grey coat flecked with honeyed hues of blonde and brown, sits, tail swishing behind him. He pants happily at the the rest of the party, sniffing at the wreckage of the armor. He carefully steps his way around all the frozen metallic shards toward wherever the closest door is.

“Wow.” James just looks at each of them with a grin. “Nice work.”

Ermren gives the armor a satisfied nod, "Let's keep moving, find the source of all of this and finish it."

Gillain is a little shellshocked at Bob’s transformation, and also the radiant power that erupted from her. None of that has ever happened before!

Flavour text (bit meta)...

Bewildered but filled with adrenalin, she carries on the way they were headed, hoping to find this baby, but also dreading what they might find.

She moves to the nearest door (door #2 I think) , looks back to check the party are ready, and opens it...

Tio will follow Gillain to the next door.

As the party collects at the next door I need a perception roll from everyone.
