Ban stands off to the side, not engaging in the party treasure split. She leans against the far wall and looks off into the distance as she continues to internalize the situation. After a short time, her concentration wanes, and she looks around at the group and sizes them up. It doesn't take long for her to again lose focus, and she asks simple questions to get to know the party. "So, uh, aside from our current predicament, what brings you into the world and drives you to risk your lives? Where do you call home? Families? Each of you seems capable in their own rights." She takes a lockpick from her silvery hair and absently files and cleans her nails and cuticles.
Tio having just rested will stand guard as the other go through the items. She sees the broach “My I?” She speaks softly to Gimble waiting for confirmation before picking it up.
If he agrees she will pick it up examining it before putting it on.
[What color is the Broach is it red lol?]
The brooch is silver-lined with a bar pin on the back. The brooch itself is an enameled purple field with the image of a woman's head, neck, and shoulders in what appears to be ivory.
DM: This is the map thus far. The chanting appears to be echoing from the direction you had come into this room. There is a closed-door in the southwest corner of the room. It appears you could make time for a rest if you like. You reason that every encounter with monsters in this cursed place was not something initiated by then but rather you being in the area where they were. It appears that you have defeated all the monsters in this room and could rest if you wish.
Gillain stretches and holds her bleeding side. “How is everyone doing?... I’m not sure any more if it’s day or night, but we may need to sleep at some point... This room might not be a bad place to rest: we’d only have to worry about one entrance or exit. What do you think?”.
((OOC: @DM: incidentally, any idea how long we’ve all been awake now? We haven’t had a long rest all game, but maybe it’s only been a few hours?))
DM: Being up most of the night in the Realms at first-looking for the wolf attacking the farmhouse, to entering the woods and coming out, and entering this house and all that has transpired, the party does feel a bit tired from all the events leading up to this point.
[We have rested since entering that I am sure of.]
Tio will pocket the broach to put on at a later time. ”Perhaps that is a good idea...” turning the others “...us three have been her for what feels like weeks, but it’s only been a day. I think resting up before facing whatever monster is at the bottom will be the best solution. I can stay on guard first so if y’all wish to rest it’s fine.” Tio will stand on watch if the party rest. She stand by a wall in a sentry’s rest just looking forward perfectly still almost as if she was meditating.

The relief on Gillain’s face is obvious. She’s had a long day. Being possessed really takes it out of you it seems!! She impresses upon Tio, “The slightest thing... wake me! And I can take next watch, when the time comes”. And with that’s she sets about trying to find a decent corner to hunker down for a bit...

I was sure there was a rest as well but, time and focus prevent me from finding it.
"I can use a rest to recover my spells, though I am not particularly sleepy. I will spend the time I'm not resting my eyes reading this book--I can take the first watch too," offers Gimble, and it is obvious that the gnome is interesting in continuing to read more of the journal/spellbook for now.

Bob casts Goodberry and hands them out before they settle down to get a proper rest, humming as a smile crinkles the corners of his beetle-black eyes. "I smelled a bad smell 's all. My hill's full o' them as a rule. Loamy soil and slitherin' earthworms and musty fungi, but I don' mind 'em," he explains between berries. "I smelled a dead smell, somethin' unnatural, mind. Undead, y' might say. So I began a' wanderin' till I found the mist where it seemed t' be comin' from and, well, here I am."
He beds down and is fast asleep unlike some of the other more helpful members of the group who didn't need much in the way of shuteye. He mumbles faintly in his sleep, occasionally muttering the name "Thorn".
Ban nods but is unable to readily reply. She puts her right hand on her left forearm and looks down. Tapping her boot to the wooden floors, she slowly starts, "Ban's the name, yeah. Well, sounds similar to me really. Bit of wanderlust in general; there's much to see in Prime. Last I can vividly recall, I was hired to transport some personal affects, but I just can't place events that followed. I don't even know how long it's been since then."
The eladrin will thank the dwarf for continued sustenance, expressing a need to repay such food-branded kindness. To the group, she volunteers for first watch. "I'm not sure how many hours I've been up, but I doubt that I could sleep a wink."
Ban will take a relaxed seat next to Tio and bug her for some time. Just small talk mostly. Whether Tio responds or not, Ban will lose focus on subjects after just a few minutes. Trying to fight it, the eladrin puts her head on her knees as she dreams. Her extremities jump and twitch as she does so, and tears fall from her face.
As the others begin to rest Tio will stand guard. When Bob comes to offer a Good Berry, Tio will decline politely “I am fine Bob. Thank you for your kindness.” She bows slightly before returning her attention to guarding.
When Ban comes to chat Tio will engage with light conversation before letting her know she should rest. But before she can Ban already puts her head down.
Tio standing in her Sentry’s Rest starts to wonder in thought. Her mind drifting from present to the past. “This world is one of many this you know well. You are strong but you are also weak...You’re true potential locked behind your doubt and self loathing...Leave behind those shackles, unleash your true form and begin anew....” These final words from her friend before passing on echoed in Tio’s mind. Tapping into her subconscious she begins to focus on her being. A blend of magic and steel, not human but not a mindless construct devoid of a soul. An image of power begins to form...

The party rests for a FULL rest without incident. Though, during everyone's watch, at 1 point, each person gets the sense they are being watched but can not locate anyone nearby.
Everyone wakes, rested, and at full H.P.
Bob wakes up and starts moving around a bit, the party does notice a small patch of green moss on his right shoulder. Bob doesn't seem to notice or be bothered by it.
Tired, Bob lays down to get much-needed sleep. The experiences of this place so far have started to take a toll on the dwarf's mind. Sleep takes Bob and he dreams. Bob finds himself surrounded by small motes of light. The lights circle him here and there and some cling to his skin. 1 mote comes close to Bob and its shape suddenly becomes very apparent to Bob. It's a mushroom. Abruptly the mushroom darts directly into Bob's mouth. Within seconds a euphoric sensation floods Bob. Geometric shapes and images flood Bob's mind and a deep calm penetrate his body. "One" is the only word Bob hears. Suddenly Bob is awake. The darkness around him seems very sharp to his senses. As Bob looks around his focus returns to his surroundings. He is in a dungeon among friends.
Gillain lays down to rest, still a bit unnerved by all these experiences. As she closes her eyes she falls to sleep quickly. As she sleeps she dreams:
Gillain finds herself on a field of a golden wheat. The sky above is a deep vibrant blue with white clouds filling it here and there. She turns to look around her, the beauty of this place touching her soul. As she does, she sees an older man sitting on a stone 10 ft. from her. He is dressed in simple robes and holding a staff in his aged hand. His hair is silver-white, long and as it reaches down it seems to combine with a silver-white beard. He looks at the young Paladin and smiles, his golden eyes inviting and peaceful. "I am so happy you came."He says to Gillain. With that Gillain awakes in her resting place. The darkness of this place seeming oppressive in comparison to her dream. As the vision of her dream fades as Gillain adjusts to the world around her, Gillain feels calm about her.
Gimble does some studying before he rests and during his reading, he finds the following:
"Gustav believes he has a path to great power and I believe him. He is the wisest, smartest man I have ever met. I am honored to have been chosen by him to be his wife and to bring into our world 2 children. His attention on the governess does bother me but, he is my husband and I trust him." Another entry Gimble finds: "She is pregnant. That *****whore is pregnant! Gustav forbid me of exacting any revenge on her. I hate him and her." Gimble also finds the formula for the following couple of spells: Disguise Self & [Tooltip Not Found] Gimble lays the book aside and rests. He is sure he will find more spells within this book. As Gimble slips off to sleep he hears in his mind a woman's voice saying "Yes".
Tio slows her breathing and entered what she has come to know as rest:
Tio's vision swirls and rays of multiple lights cascade over her. In the midst of the cascade is a black center. Suddenly Tio is drawn into that darkness and with a flash Tio finds herself standing at the foot of a long set of stairs. Curious she makes her way to the top to find a lone monastery with long spires that seem to stretch into the heavens itself. Tio walks forward finding tall doors made of thick oak and that smell of fresh-cut wood. The doors open. Before her, Tio sees a shadowy training hall. The hall is illuminated by several torches and candles spaced throughout the hall. In the midst of the hall stand a handful of monks all in formation, waiting. A voice calls out to Tio "Take your place". Tio is compelled to rush forward and take her place among the formation. Once there, training begins. Tio is not sure how long she is there but it seems like years and she masters the basics of her training. Abruptly Tio comes back to herself. She sees her companions starting to stir from their rest. Did she dream? She thinks not as she has new skills and knowledge.
Once the party starts to stir, Tio becomes more mobile and her wounds have been healed.
The party does hear the chanting, low and faint, coming from the north.
DM: Where do you go next? (refer to the map posted in the prior post)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"We should check that other door before proceeding forward." Tio will check the other door where the mimic was, she checks for traps or if its locked. After sjhe is done she will open the door.
