Unsure of the situation Tio will lower herself into the water and climb up the altar with Gillain. Looking up to the apparitions “No one here will follow your commands, you will not have any sacrifices today!”

Gillain smiles at Tio and clasps her empty spear-hand onto her friend’s shoulder, looking at her. She nods and says, “Thats right... No one dies here today...”.
She leaves her hand there for a few seconds. Then relaxes her arm, and stance. Nodding again to Tio before taking a few steps down the platform towards her party-members inspecting the heap of rubbish. She stops just short of the water, calling over, “Find anything there in the rubbish?”.
Gillain considers that, and then say “If that’s what’s left over from whatever rituals are performed down here, burning it might not be a bad idea...”.
Bob nods. "Ain't natural, whatever ritual they were tryin' to carry out. Only right to rid this wretched world of one more stain o' evil." He produces a flame in his palm and frowns doubtfully at the waterlogged planks of wood. "Think they'll catch light? Everythin' in here is pretty damp."
"I can't speak to the wood beneath the waterline, but I can give the drier wood up top a bit of fire," says Gimble, having no better suggestions. "You are welcome to try the torch first, Bob, and some oil if you an spare it. I can add magical fire to the mix as well."
Burning hands on the pile of wood once the others have done what they can with mundane fire:
Sighing at the anticlimactic shadows, Ban puts away the mirror and walks over to look at the water. One look, and she turns her nose up at the thought of getting into said water. As the group discusses burning the refuse, Ban pulls up the bottom of her hood to cover her nose and mouth, looking on in interest from up high.
Gimble casts his spell and gouts of flame wash over the pile of debris. Abruptly the apparitions start chanting something different; "Lorghoth the Decayer, we awaken thee." With that the debris shifts and rumbles, speeding from its cove and stopping in the midst of the room, near the dais. Water and sludge spray around the room as the debris swiftly rises from the water. Standing up from the water is a Shambling Mound https://docs.google.com/drawings/d/1wr9osdU8wpQOCOo45akPxptIanmNXrMOWKZVB9tc-9M/edit
Once the creatures bursts from the water surface the apparitions begin a new chant: "The end has come! Death be praised!" Initiative: 18
Gillain sees the grotesque monster rise up out of the water. She raises her shield, which seems to glow with divine power. In a voice that quakes only a little, she calls to the party, “Destroy it!!.... Aagh!!”. And with that, she draws her spear and charges in to attack...
OOC: Did the Burning hands appear to harm the creature? I didn’t include the Dexterity Save because I didn’t expect the pile of debris to be capable of dodging, but DC is 13 for half damage.
Initiative: 15
OOC: Gimble’s action will depend on the answer from above and the actions of the monster.

The flames cascaded across the debris but did no damage ( rolled offline 15 and the creature has damage resistance to fire) There were 2 ways the creature would awaken. Attacking it was 1 of them.
OOC: That tells Gimble two things—one, the pile of debris “dodged”, giving away that it was a mobile creature of some kind, and two, that fire is not the best attack since it too so little damage. Was its action on its turn to move out into the room, or was that before initiative was rolled? I expect Gimble would start reacting once he realized the pile of debris was mobile.
Gimble skitters back from the monster, trying to find a clear path away from it, then casts a spell, causing arcane darts of force to slam into it!
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.

Bob takes a moment to panic - there was a giant, shambling beast made up of debris and refuse and who-knows-what erupting from the water, after all... but it was only a moment. Drawing on the undead energy still infusing the mansion he casts Chill Touch on the dreadful thing.

As the shambling mound finally showes itself, Tio will stick close to Gillian moving to her left side. Tio will summon her Astral Arms again as her Bonus Action, the power begins to surger throught out her arms as her reach grows to ten feet. She will throw a force punch at the shambling mound!
Attack: 14 Damage: 4
