Davril shrugs, "You were the only one that could understand them, did it seem like they were talking about a literal key or about a spell or something? And did it seem like they hid it here, or this was just part of it?"
"So what I gathered was that the man and woman were having an affair and planned to run off together. He left her a key hidden in the podium that was supposed to unlock a gate outside of the house. I feel it safe to figure its one of the gates to this property since they were trying to get away. Nothing was ever said about "lower levels". At somepoint their plot was uncovered by the husband and retribution was sought. The man and woman didn't escape hence the haunting. Now we found that stash. The fact that the key was missing is unimportant because, regardless what it was too, if the time comes that we need a key we have me. Now I'll give you this. Since there is a good chance that the goblins had already raided part of that stash it's possible that they have the key. I say this because they claimed what we found as the property of their king. That could be goblin bravado but more likely it was their stash we were raiding. Vothrolo seems to think this place is spent and I'm inclined to agree. Especially since we have maps that could show the location of the next treasure." Replies Quin.
(OCC: little tip from an old player... when the DM uses an NPC to break in on a conversation about what to do next and says "there's nothing left" good chance there is nothing left. Not always but in 30yrs of playing I've rarely had it be anything else. *edit * But I should add that I do appreciate the thoroughness.)
Quiller, looking a bit downcast, grumbles, "J'es wanna find more treaaasures, is all but, ifn ye puts it thatta way, well, lets go to the next place Vothrolo wants to go. Sigh." He does seem to be a bit overdramatic, but willing to let it go none the less.

"Well, you might be right. If our employer is satisfied then we should let things be. We might even get back to town in time for stew and ale this way.... and none of the wine hahhaha." Lorgar pats Balthazar friendly on the shoulder at the mention of the vile concoction.
"Here let me hold it for you." says Quin as he stands on the end and attempts to hold the rope tight as Davril climbs. When he makes it up Quin will follow.
Davril easily climbs up to the roots, but, once he reaches the roots, the path through is more challenging. Although the climbing is easier among the roots, the space between the roots are tight and he occasionally has to move laterally before climbing upward. But, Davril soon finds himself standing underneath the tree the party found on the first floor. From the sun that he can see above, it appears that the time is approaching mid-day.
Because of their armor, Lukas and Lorgar do have some difficulty in finding their way through the roots. But, with some effort, they make it through. It takes considerably more time than people would expect to get up there, but, eventually the entire party is back in the tree room. It is slightly past mid-day by the time everyone is back up in the sunlight.
"Well should we take a quick rest and maybe divide up some spoils before moving on? Or should we head back to town and do it there? I prefer here to avoid prying eyes but I'm a bit over cautious at times." Says Quin.
Quiller nods at Quin’s suggestion. “So, what have we gained in our venture so far?” He looks around at the others, “Could use a bit of a rest while we’re at it, too.”
Davril nods and begins pulling out the gathered coins and sorting them into small piles.
(Even 6 way split. I counted all the coin we gained here, so if you took a portion of it earlier, just subtract that out.)
90 gold 8 copper, with 1 copper to spare. In addition to the coin we still have two small, poorly cut gems, a partially rusted dagger, and a necklace with shells, green beads, and white beads. Three red gems, three green, and two blue
"There is also the question of the ring... and how many potions were there again? Also, doesn anyone have the faintest idea of huw much the gems and necklace are worth? Would it perhaps be better to sell the stuff, and split the profits evenly?"

"what was bad about the wine? didn't have it, just curious."
"You can find out tonight if you really want hahaha... and it is perfectly fine if you like vinegar."
Davril shakes his head with a small sigh and starts heading to the ropes to try and climb out, just to see where they goblins got in at.
"Here let me hold it for you." says Quin as he stands on the end and attempts to hold the rope tight as Davril climbs. When he makes it up Quin will follow.

Quiller will follow; though his curiosity gets the better of him, and he checks in the nooks and crannies of the roots as he climbs up and out.
