"It would appear to be a theatrical performance or a ritual of some kind if you ask me." Comments Quin. "Makes me wonder what's on that other wall in that last room. Give me a moment and I'll check and see." The young man quickly lites a torch leaving the glowing rock for the others and heads back to the previous room. He begins the process of cleaning off this rooms mural just enough to see if it matches the other or depicts something new.
Davril peers at the mural and around the room, "Could be some sort of performance. And while the hidden room would have been fairly common knowledge at the time, it may have appeared to be a hidden room to later visitors after the fall. Does that look like the main hall we came in through, or another room we may have passed?"
If quiller's attentions to the floor yield nothing, he will turn his attention to the ceiling, if it is to high he'll ask the party members who have a staff or spear (does anyone?) to thump the ceiling to see if it is solid or not.
"I just think it bes a bit odd that there ain't no exits in these chambers, I mean, I ne'er did sees a rat as could open a door. So, how did they get in here?"

Davril will use his spear to gently poke at the ceiling, careful not to poke straight above himself in case it collapses down.
As Quiller stomps on the floor, it is clear that there is space underneath the floor. Whether that space is a crawl space or another floor, the rogue can’t determine. The noise is consistent across the room (i.e., there is no sign that there is a door giving access to that space in this room). The ceiling is about 10 feet high, with portions of the ceiling sagging and showing signs of water damage.
In the previous room, Quin finds that most of the mural in that room is gone, with only three figures still visible. One is an orc, another is a goblin, while only the lower half of the third figure is visible. Both the orc and goblin have gold bands around their necks. Their clothing, while definitely different from modern day outfits, doesn’t seem to be the costumes worn by the people on the intact mural.
Vothrolo nods appreciatively at Lukas and Davril’s suggestions and adds “I don’t think it matches any of the rooms that we have been through. I didn’t see anything remotely resembling a stage in any of the rooms that we passed through.”
It is not possible to tell what is above the ceiling, but, there is space above this room. Whether this space was an attic or another level can’t be told. The ceiling in the first two rooms appears to have been 20 feet high, as opposed to the 10 feet high ceilings in the rooms along this hallway. It is clear that water is getting through the roof of the structure (if any of the roof is still intact), with water stains clearly visible on the ceiling.
None of the doors have been latched in any way. Any animal could push, or possibly pull the door open with minimal difficulties.
OOC the perception checks are good. Doing separate perception/investigations checks on floor vs ceiling or separate walls is good. If we were in person, I would be asking for those types of checks.
OOC The above map is a crude hand drawn map of what you've seen so far. The party entered from the bottom of the map. The party is currently in the room at the lower left.
Quin hurries back to the group and reports what he saw saying, "To much gone on that other mural, just an orc and goblin with gold bands about their necks, but I couldn't discern what they were doing if anything. Lets double back and try those rooms I was looking as initially."
(OCC: he means the ones through the southern door in the tree room.)
Vothrolo responds to Davril "The legends of the Kwalmendi Empire say that it was a perfect empire with orcs, kobolds, human, elves and all the other intelligent races walking the streets together as equals. What the gold bands on their neck means is not known. These murals are among a limited supply of artwork that we have of the Kwalmendi people. Did all orcs and goblins wear gold bands? Were those individuals slaves? Were all the orcs and goblins that lived in the Empire slaves? That artwork brings up a lot of questions. Hopefully, future work will provide answers to some of these questions."
Back in the room with the tree, Quin looks around, but, doesn't see anything that matches the details of the painting. Nothing in this room indicates that a stage used to be present in this room.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"Men and mer cannot live side by side with goblins, for they harbor a deep hatred for anything and everything but themselves. Anyone who has come face to face with them can confirm that. They are utterly cruel and selfish. I fear for any kind heart that would be foolish enough to doubt this, for the only thing that those deceptively cunning goblins can bring upon them is death and suffering. If one would try to treat them as equals they would surely only see it as a weakness to be exploited to kill and enslave "
Lorgar will then attempt to determine the time to see how much daylight they have. Survival roll 23
He will also take his mace and tap the floor.
"If we do not find a way down, do you think that we might perhaps be able to break down the floor to see what is beneath?"

"mayhap the lower room was a preparation place for the actors? it would explain the undress."

"A puppet show? But with, well, human actors in place of puppets. That would explain the lines..."
"i believe that's called theater." lukas deadpans.

(welp, there's the answer)
"simple answer that, these doors couldn't hold back a drunk halfling." lukas wryly comments as he moves the door to look in the next room.

Davril looks to Vothrolo, "Do the gold bands on their necks mean anything to you? I didn't realize goblins and orcs were part of the old empire?"
"either they were raiders or masters."
"Well lets quit jawin' and keep looking."
Quin heads back down the hall to the tree room. He pauses there to try and discern if any of the features in the mural match anything in the room.

"If we do not find a way down, do you think that we might perhaps be able to break down the floor to see what is beneath?"
"perhaps it was a different time then, lorgar. perhaps something made orcs and goblins into the mindless savages they are now." lukas reasons.
