OCC: I thought the initiative has already been decided. Open the spoiler.
Quin rolls out of his bedding and onto a knee a dagger in each hand at Max's warning. He tenses muscles in preparation of a counter attack should the threat reveal itself by attacking. "May as well show yourselves or move on. Your presence has already been revealed. We will not be taken by surprise tonight.!" he yells out.
Action: Quin will reserve a reaction should one of the attackers move on a party member or approach the wagon.
OOC Lucas and Maximilian were on watch when the figures triggered the trap. They are the ones who have a surprise round. I decided to give them surprise because of the 20 rolled by Lucas combined with the traps.
As the trap goes off, Max yells for the rest of the party and then casts dancing lights. The lights show six kobolds creeping towards the wagon. They seem startled by the noise of Quin's traps and the sudden appearance of the lights. The kobolds do not respond to Lucas' question.
OOC This will end the surprise round, with the party holding advantage on the initiative rolls.
As the other party members arise out of their slumber and move toward the kobolds, the little creatures look at each other unsure of what to do.
OOC: Because of waking up, standing up, and getting oriented on the situation, the sleeping people (everyone except for Lucas and Max) can not move close enough to engage with melee weapons, but, ranged weapons can be used.
Tin is up with a sword in hand, heading toward the oxen when he sees Khoraj heading toward the horses. Budein is sitting up, looking slightly confused at the commotion.
Moshet will prick his thumb on the edge of his mace, and smearing the blood between his thumb and finger and pointing at the kobolds saying "Ye'isu igeda", will cast Bane on the three closest targets.
if successful, then they will have -1d4 to saves and attack rolls. Saving Throw Against: CHA 13
Quiller and Khoraj both hit, with the kobold (#3) targeted by Quiller falling to the ground. The kobold (#1) hit by Khoraj is seriously wounded and will pull out a sling and aim at Khoraj
(OOC I haven’t done a good job of describing how the camp is set up, or asking you where you are moving to. Something I’ll have to keep in mind while moving forward).
The camp was set up on the north side of the road, with the wagon placed between the party and the road. The horses are picketed to the west of the wagon, with the oxen picketed north of the party. Khoraj has moved up to the east edge of the wagon, with Moshet to the east of him and Max to the west of Khoraj. Quill, Quin and Lucas are further back, with Tin checking on the oxen and Budein laying in his bedding between the party and the oxen.
Kobolds #1 pulls out a sling and aims at Khoraj Attack: 11 Damage: 6
Kobold #2 moves around toward the west end of the wagon and also uses a sling aimed at Max. Attack: 21 Damage: 4
Kobolds #4 attacks Khoraj with a dagger Attack: 16 Damage: 5
Kobold #5 attacks Moshet with a dagger Attack: 21 Damage: 4
Kobold #6 moves to the east and aims a sling Quin Attack: 12 Damage: 5
The kobolds are spread out about 1 and 2 are five feet apart at the western edge of the wagon. Kobolds 4, 5 and 6 are spread out over a 10 feet area immediately east of the wagon. Max is within 10 feet of kobolds 1 and 2, Khoraj is about 15 away from those two, but, in melee with kobold 4, kobold 5 is in melee with Moshet, with kobolds 4 and 6 within five feet. Kobold 6 is about 10 feet from Quin and Lukas. Quill is 5 feet behind Moshet (and about 10 feet away from kobolds 4, 5, and 6.
Quin can make an opportunity attack if he chooses, then the party is up for round 2.
OOC the kobolds would normally have advantage on attacks because they are within 5 ft of each other. Moshet's spell gave them disadvantage, which cancels out the advantage, so they get normal rolls.
On his turn, Khoraj will drop his crossbow and use his scimitar ("Going Missiles to guns")on the Kobold who attacked him with the dagger.
once immediate threats are removed he will go back to his crossbow and look for other threats.
Khoraj Scimitar attack : Attack: 17 Damage: 7
OOC: It would be cool to have a layout of the skirmish but I know DnD beyond is a lot of trouble to post images on. It might be worth looking into getting up a Discord channel to post battle maps a OOC: discussion to strategize how to best meet a threat.
Moshet - Concentration roll (Con save) for Bane (with ADV due to War Caster): 21
Feeling the sting of the dagger in his leg, but pushing past it to maintain the spell on these enemies, he grits his teeth and says, "We are not appointed today to die, but you by Anpu... Aaaahh!". Moshet will attack #6 with his mace.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
As kobold #5 moves toward Moshat to attack him, Quin sees his opportunity and throws a dagger at the kobold #5, killing it before the little monster can strike Moshat.
Khoraj swings his scimitar at kobold #4, slicing open the kobolds intestines, with the kobold falling to the ground.
Lukas attacks kobold #6, cutting a large gash across the creatures chest, with Moshet's mace crushing the creatures head in seconds later.
Quiller switches his aim over to kobold #1, who falls over dead with a crossbow bolt sticking out of his chest.
Tin shoots a crossbow at the remaining kobold Attack: 6 Damage: 10, killing the final kobold.
Budeim comes walking forward at this point and says "Wow! You made quick work of this group of bandits. We definitely hired the right group. Looks like things will work out okay for us on this trip Tin." The merchant then heads back to his bedroll and lays back down. Before the group has caught their breath from the encounter, he is snoring soundly.

reasons why i'm staying close to quin:
a) we see six, may be more waiting for us to sally out
b) don't wanna get cut off and encircled
c) rogues are fragile
d) tried to imtimidate, it did not work
e) don't know the distance between me and the kobolds.
