(Too late for Orro to use guidance on Duncan?)

Seeing that her time to drink is over, Kayassa gets up from her seat slowly. As she sets her hooves on the floor, she reaches for the staff on her back, setting it in front of her slowly. "So time for a fight?"

(Wow! Of all the numbers. In this case, we will say the tie goes to the player.)

Duncan successfully grapples the leader. He begins to squirm as he yells “Oh, you’ve done it this time kid! You’re dead, I mean dead!” At this, the other ruffians leave the patron and draw shortswords. A fight is definitely about to start and at the moment is happening inside the tavern.

Initiative Order: Kayassa, Redbrands, Duncan, Daphina, Vulmar, Orro

Kayassa is up! What would you like to do?

Kayassa is going to begin to go mutter something, crackling energy forming around her hand and the tip of her staff. With a final word the energy flies from her hand toward the Redbrand that had been speaking.

Eldritch Blast: Attack: 13 Damage: 11

The blast strikes the grappled Redbrand in the chest, causing him to grown and squirm even further (-10hp).

Redbrands are up!

The grappled Redbrand will attempt to escape the grapple with an acrobatics check.

Redbrand: 14

Duncan (Contested): 19

The Redbrand breaks free from Duncan’s grasp before drawing his sword and giving a growl. “I’m gonna enjoy this.” He grunts.

One will move from behind the others to attack Daphina while another goes for Orro and a third stand Duncan. Each makes two shortsword strikes. 

Daphina: (Attack: 14 Damage: 8 and Attack: 15 Damage: 8)

Daphina ducks beneath the first strike but is caught off guard by the second and is nicked in the side (-3hp).

Orro: (Attack: 16 Damage: 7 and Attack: 15 Damage: 7)

Orro blocks one strike with his shield while the other clangs off of his newly bolstered armor. Both miss.

Duncan: (Attack: 16 Damage: 7 and Attack: 19 Damage: 6)

Duncan is barely caught by the first slash of the thug but quickly recovers in time to parry the second strike with his glaive. (-8hp).

Everyone else is up! Duncan, Daphina, Vulmar, and Orro may all now take their turns. Feel free to post in any order, and I will process each one following correct initiative. (Kayassa may also go ahead and queue her round two move if she likes.)

There are three healthy redbrands left and one injured one. The three uninjured thugs are each engaged with Duncan, Daphina, and Orro, while the injured is also engaged with Duncan.

Daphina grunts after being hit, then charges the thug that attacked her.

 Shortsword 1: Attack: 9 Damage: 6
Shortsword 2: Attack: 17 Damage: 4

Kayassa will repeat her earlier action, letting the power of her patron spring forth from the feywild. The magical force flairs out of the staff as she points to the injured Redbrand. With a final mutter in Sylvan the Eldritch Blast flies out.

Eldritch Blast: Attack: 23 Damage: 10

Focusing on the injured Thug, Duncan says “I was gonna let you off with a warning.” He then slashes at the injured Thug first, and brings the butt of his glaive around to bring him down.

Vulmar's pulse begins to pound.  A real fight!  He knew it was coming, but actually seeing blood drawn was still a shock.  He forces himself to focus.  This was how justice had to be dealt.  Keeping his distance, he aims his arcane fire at one of the thugs (preferably the weakest one.)

Fire Bolt: 7 Damage: 2

"You don't want to do this. There is still time to walk away and be decent people. Let my god encourage you." Orro says, focusing on the healthiest-looking thug,

He casts sacred flame for 3 on  a failed DEX 13 save.

Duncan quickly retaliates with his glaive, stabbing through the injured ruffian. With a weak gasp, the redbrand collapses on the weapon and slumps to the ground. You then advance on the second closest thug but your strike is blocked. 

Daphina retaliates against the nearest Rebrand but her first strike is blocked. However, you quickly bring in the second sword and it catches the thug in the chest (-1hp). (I subtracted the modifier, but will add sneak attack for the second attack) (1) (Total of -2hp)

Vulmar hurls a ball of fire towards one of the Redbrands but it misses and strikes the wall behind him. It seems as though the wall might catch on fire but after a second, it fizzles out leaving a weaker burnt area. 

Orro lets the divine energy within him flow and releases a sacred flame that begins to engulf the thug engaged with him. (Dex Save: 18). The Redbrand gives a yelp but is quickly able to douse the radiant flames, avoiding any damage.

Kayassa conjures another bolt of eldritch energy that strikes the Redbrand nearest to Daphina and leaves him gasping for air (-10 hp. Total: -12hp).

Redbrands are up!

Each of the three redbrands still fighting will take two shortsword strikes at the people’s nearest to them— Daphina, Orro, and Duncan again. 

Daphina: (Attack: 6 Damage: 5 and Attack: 5 Damage: 3)

Both attacks miss the nimble gnome.

Orro: (Attack: 7 Damage: 5 and Attack: 22 Damage: 3)

Orro blocks the first strike with his shield only to have the second strike sunk into his side, slicing through his metal armor (-3hp).

Duncan: (Attack: 9 Damage: 7 and Attack: 6 Damage: 3)

Duncan— now in his element is able to block both strikes with his glaive.

With that, it once again goes to the party. Everyone may take their round two turns with the exception of Kayassa who can queue her round 3 action. There are now three redbrands left, two completely healthy ones engaged with Orro and Duncan while the third is injured and engaged with Daphina.

One more thing of note. The bar patron who was being attacked by the redbrands has now slinked out of the establishment and is no where to be seen. The barkeep and only other patron both watch the brawl break out. Grista watches with fear while the drunkard at the bar watches in fearful awe. What would you like to do?

Vulmar notices Grista's fear and flashes his best smile.

"There'll be a bit of collateral, but we've got this in hand."

Seeing Orro take a hit, Vulmar focuses on helping out the more conventional holy man, stepping around to try and get a clearer shot on the thug attacking Orro.

Fire Bolt: 19 Damage: 6

“Is this worth your life?” Duncan asks, turning to the thug who just swung his sword at him. Regaining his composure, he this time attacks with the butt of his glaive, attempting to drop the man, but leave him breathing.

Daphina glares at the thug, mad that they had tried to hit her. She slashes with her shortswords again at the thug she is currently engaged with.

Shortsword 1: Attack: 18 Damage: 5

Shortsword 2: Attack: 16 Damage: 5

Orro grits his teeth and returns the redbrand's blow with a hit of his own, with a warhammer.

Attack: 24 Damage: 6

(Sorry everyone, the holidays have been busy. Hopefully I can get back to a normal posting schedule from here on out.)

Duncan easily smacks the Redbrand with the butt of his glaive, but his second attack is then blocked (-12hp). 

Daphina also takes two strikes with her shortsword that both make contact with the already injured thug as he also slumps to the ground apparently defeated.

Vulmar sends another bolt of fire rocketing towards the thug engaged with Orro, and this time it makes contact, burning the front of his armor (-6hp).

Orro takes a swing with his Warhammer, but it is deftly blocked and ricochets off of the thugs sword (Miss).

Kayassa is up! There are two thugs left, both injured and engaged with Duncan and Orro. The one engaged with Duncan is more injured. What would you like to do?
