"Answer the questions they asked you about Glassstaff." Kayassa said as she looked to the others, her eyes quickly darting back to the strange creature.
“Glasstaff... interesting man he is. Not who he says he is, he is. Working for someone else he does. Black Spider, the employer goes by?”The creature says. It then gauges your reaction with an eerie smile. “Is this what you wish to know?”
"That is similar to what we wish to know, but I asked what Glasstaff is doing here, and how many others are here, and what they are hiding. I'd also like to know if you've seen any dwarves like myself here."Orro says, still not bringing himself to look at the creature, doing his best to hide his revulsion.
“Promised something, Glasstaff has been.” The creature murmurs. “Wealth, power, innumerable amounts. Keep the town in check, he does this for. A dwarf I have not seen, but part of the plan he is. Key to this wealth and power... a dwarf named Gundren is, but seen him I have not. Know him do you? Important is he?” Ferrum hisses before devolving into a mad laughter. “Yesss... sensitive this topic is... in all of you. I sense that more than just an employer Gundren is.”
"And how many people are here?"Orro repeats. "What's on the other side of the crevasse?"The cleric is deeply conflicted -- the creature is obviously malicious and possibly evil, but is being somewhat helpful and cooperative. Ordinarily he'd be conversational and empathetic, but not with something so repulsive and malignant. He's kind of an open book, and is barely able to look in its direction, let alone make eye contact.
He's been hoping the others would take the lead, and is relieved that Kayassa and Daphina weigh in.
“Oh yes, right. Those questions,” Daphina remembers, “Now kindly answer them.” She glares at the creature. She pulls her shortsword an inch out of her sheath, then let’s it drop back in.
“Hard to say, it is...” the creature hisses. “Mysterious man, Black Spider is... not even Glasstaff may know.” It then gives a soft mumble and cackle before continuing. “And more people there are. Voices, I hear,” the creatures says as it indicated towards the carved out walls. “More people there must be... more food. Again, to say it is hard.” Ferrum then pauses, truly silent for the first time. “This crevasse I have not left. Feeds me, it does. Live without it I could not.” it mumbles before descending into unintelligible gibberish once more.
“I’m personally tired, and weak after falling into the crevasse. I don’t feel like fighting, but this creature deserves death.” Daphina replies on edge.
Orro mumbles, "I'm inclined to agree with you -- perhaps we can 'take care of it' once we're done exploring the rest of this place? It doesn't seem hostile to us, just demented and hungry, and more practically, if we can avoid a fight before we see if this Blackstaff and his friends are holding Gundren, we'll be stronger for that confrontation. But I won't say no if the rest of you feel strongly otherwise and want to end it now."He shivers, ready to be done with this problem now or later.
"I agree that he is something to worry about later. We have no idea what he or it is.... At least of we fight more of these Rebrands we know what to expect from them." Kayassa says before she turns to go toward the bridge to walk across in a calm fashion.
After a minute or two of slobbering and chomping, Ferrum finishes and looks up, blood and gore spattered across his face.
“The truth, I tell. Now, question please ask. Know what would you like to?” He hisses, obviously satisfied with the meal.

“Anyone else have questions?” Daphina asks checking with the rest of the group. “If not we need to keep going. There’s more of this place to explore.”
(So he didn’t answer how many people are here?)

Orro looks to the rest of the party, almost helplessly, and deferential.
"Are we going to leave this thing alive?” Duncan mumbles to the party, ready to be done with this and move on.
