Orro nods and reminds the group that they're to meet SIldar for a meal and a drink or two at the inn, and he invites Vulmar along to meet Sildar and catch up on whatever task Gundren had for them. "It's been a long day -- I wouldn't mind staking out the Sleeping Giant to keep an eye on the comings and goings a bit this evening, and then going to cause whatever fuss we can tomorrow morning."
He heads to meet Sildar, planning to eat and drink and rest a bit.
The consensus seems to be to check out the Sleeping Giant first.
You make your way out of Barthen’s Provisions and Barthen gives a final goodbye before saying “Stay safe. Those thugs are trouble.”
Thrax and Jasper stand outside and after they are handed their gold seem ready to go. “Thank ya’ for the gold,” Jasper says. “Unfortunately though, I’ve got to be moving on. No rest for the wicked y’know.”
Thrax nods. “Agreed. There are things I must attend to back home. I wish you all well in your search for Gundren and whatever else you may do.” Thrax then pats Ryzen on the back, shakes Orro’s hand, and gives Kayassa a nod. “Stay safe, friends,” he says before the two turn back towards the Triboar Trail, walking off into the sunset.
After saying goodbye to Jasper and Thrax, the party makes their way to the Sleeping Giant which is a short 5 minute walk down the main road of Phandalin. Eventually, you come to what you assume to be the Sleeping Giant— a ramshackle taproom. Four human ruffians linger on the covered porch, perched on empty ale barrels or leaning against the wall. They all wear grimy scarlet cloaks, and seem to be engrossed in a card game of some sorts.
At this point, the party is about 100 feet away. Please everyone make a stealth check with advantage will to remain un-noticed by the Redbrands. You may also engage if that’s what you would like to do.
Orro stays to the opposite side of the street from the rest of the group, knowing he's not very good at remaining quiet, and would be happy to be a distraction if he's found out.
The party stands across the street (~100 feet) away from bandits, and they do not appear to notice you as they continue to drink and play a card game of some sorts.
"But wouldn't that just cause trouble for the other town people? I doubt it would do well to start a fight in a crowded place. Or at least that it was I have seen with you primers." Kayassa says as she turns her attention back to her drink.
"I think we should rest first. Orro here is low on divine power and I am exhausted. We should deal with them however we may in the morning with clear heads," Ryzen responds.
"I was just thinking we could try to surreptitiously observe them for a bit and learn what we can for a few minutes, and then go back to meet Sildar. In fact, I'd thought we could do it later this evening, but everyone here was very excited, so I just accompanied the group. Let's pretend to have a conversation for another ten minutes, keep an eye or two on the bar to see if anything weird happens, and then head back to Sildar to eat, to plan to rest," Orro says, quietly, and looking at the Giant from the corner of his eye.
Over the next 10 minutes, not much happens. The Redbrands continue to play their card game, and at one point one enters the tap house, returning a minute or two later with more ale. The other three accept the new drink and raise their glasses with a cheer at the refill. Occasionally, one of them will look of from the cards, looking around the street, but are either to drunk to care or do not notice you. Other than that, not much occurs.
"Well we need to do something" Daphina whispers. "Why can't we just walk in quietly?" At this point Daphina looks to the rest of the group for their input.
Ryzen says after watching the bandits out of the corner of his eye, "I think we should go to that inn where Sildar is first, unless this is the inn. We should deal with the bandits tomorrow."

Vulmar acquiesces.
"I'm a stranger here, I will follow your lead."
Another medical problem. Indefinite hiatus. Sorry, all.
Daphina silently follows the rest of the group to the Sleeping Giant.

Vulmar glances to the others, readying his crossbow. They were so . . . carefree.

(Orro's general being that this is a new town, new people, new enemies, and a time when the party needs to rest and learn, rather than barge in.)
Ryzen leads the group to the inn that Sildar was going to. He thinks the party should rest before doing anything else.
