Nyx comes closer and smiles broadly, "That's a lot of food!"
She tugs the first rat around a bit, "Got to let them bleed out, otherwise it spoils the meat. Do you mind, James? Same as you did with the second one."
She also hacks open the stomachs of both rats with quick and precise motions of her hand axe. In less than a minute she's done with the butchering and washes the axe and her hands in the water nearby.
Nyx, stay back - this current is pretty fierce - don’t want want my favourite lil one washed back underground for good! Should we head back and check the other way for Kobolds - before we can relax and search fer gems?”
Hifu looks to Gilgin and says "Did you see the teeth on those monsters! They were sharp and pointy! Hurt me a bit, I got careless I guess. James and Kravek I'll let you two take the lead. I'll hang back until we can rest a little bit."
Now that we are out of combat, Hifu searches for a monster (ahem) rat lair / nest /shiny objects. He is curious about the back where the water is as well.

Jameshelps Nyxwith the other rat, cutting its head off with his greatsword and also makes sure Nyxdoesn't fall into the water while she cleans the carcases and her axe.
Jamesalso cleans his own greatsword but keeps it at the ready instead of putting it away.
"They were certainly bigger and more aggressive than I'm used to."
Jameswatches his companions searching around the cave.
It looks like the rats came here only very recently. There is no trace of a nest or anything like that. The river cascades down from an opening in the rocks to the north , but it is to small even for Nyx to squeeze in. There is a small bit of dry land on the other side of the stream, but you don‘t see anything unusual there, just dirt and rocks. To the south the water rushes through a narrow tunnel that is a bit wider and you can hear it rushing down a slope there.
Gilgin peeks into the tunnel to the south - “The abyss returns even the boldest gaze....” he mutters. “Alright pallys, let’s go back and search the other tunnel eh?”
As Nyx waits and cuts the rats Kravek will nod to Gilgin as he suggest exploring another sidetunnel. With rats here it doesnt seem like a spot kobolds are hiding.
Kravek looks around as he says this.
Unless we want to go in the water we need to search the other tunnels to get further into the mine. He will start backtracking to go in the west tunnel, if nobody is coming he will go slow to be safe walking in front with his shield and hammer in hand.
